DENIAL

That dr is so right in terms of our general population

Although with Johnson, I suspect he knows exactly what he’s doing, he knows more people will die if he doesn’t act, he knows the economy will recover more quickly if we all get it at once, more due but productivity is restarted earlier as the deaths are “non productive” citizens

Rage rage rage

How DARE Johnson put money over the people he is supposed to serve

FuckThisWind · 10/03/2020 17:56

Completely agree with you on all your points KeepCalm I thought I was hearing thing on my local news...

Aww cute pooch Nato I'd love to see your beautiful but psychopathic cat too! I'll post a pic of our Pup.

NatoPMT · 10/03/2020 17:56

And that ridiculous reason “people will get bored”

No, they’ll do it if he addresses the situation with the gravity he deserves

And I thought he wanted to be a latter day Churchill

It’s an excuse to let people die

UPDATE on coronavirus (#COVID19) testing in the UK:

We've launched a tool to visualise our #coronavirus data:
▶️ gov.uk/track-coronavi…

This will be updated daily with new figures and geographic splits by local authority. We're currently working on a mobile-optimised version.

QueSera · 10/03/2020 18:03

It’s an excuse to let people die

At first I thought this viewpoint was cynical and extremist, but the more we progress with cases and deaths and the less the govt do to help in any way, the more it seems possible/likely. They certainly seem to be placing the economy above people's lives. I can only hope that they are in a planning stage and will do something, drastic, soon.

VenetoResident · 10/03/2020 18:09

Another thought re DC and HEd - you're likely to be keyboard sharing more than normal.

Maybe get some keyboard sanitiser? Our dentist cling films theirs.

Sprayitall · 10/03/2020 18:13

I rang up few friends and asked them what they are planning for schools etc but no one seems to care much. One even said it’s because her dc won’t listen to her she is ok sending them to school. Many are flying back home which puts me in pressure as my elderly parents don’t have anyone to look after them and they have called me twice this week to ask me return home with family ( it’s not easy to even listen as they talked about their funeral arrangements in case bad things happen and things took emotional turn when they wanted me, dh and dc to be with them in their last days etc) So we are torn between relocating there for few months and dh not having a job now is stressful. Dh is saying let’s sell the cars and arrange to pay the mortgage for couple of months, go back and arrange further money as he agrees it’s important for me to be with my family when they need it the most ( Dh lost his parents years ago) So how do we decide this? Can anyone help

FuckThisWind · 10/03/2020 18:14

@AmelieTaylor totally agree about getting the army in! Was just talking to a friend about this today. We were trained for this back in the day when I was a Special Constable. The army and police get drafted in to deal with the issue. Specials and Terrototial Army are taken out of their day jobs to replace regular Police and Army personnel.

Sprayitall · 10/03/2020 18:17

It’s becauseI shared the links here, dh thinks if we wait for longer there may be lockdowns and we can’t fly as we wish. And if something bad happens the guilt of not being there with them will be really bad. There are no one else to take care of them and now as all the countries are affected anyways it’s just the matter of days things get serious everywhere. But what do you all think? I am also worried about the risk of catching it in the airports or in the long haul flight.

FuckThisWind · 10/03/2020 18:18

@Sprayitall difficult times and difficult decisions to make. With more to come.
Hugs and Flowers
What's your gut feeling? I think I'd probably go.

VenetoResident · 10/03/2020 18:19

The situation in Italy March 10 2020. This data is inaccurate as Lombardy haven't reported new case figures fully.

Changes in 24 hours:

Dead +168

Positive people today (this is the number of infectious people so does not include those dead or healed) +529 (low as Lombardy hasn't reported)

Healed +280

Total cases to date +977

POSITIVE 6387 -> 7985 -> 8514 (no Lombardy data)
DECEASED 366 -> 463 -> 631
HEALED 622 ->724 -> 1004

9172 cases to date -> 10149

Among the 8514 positives:
• 2599 are in home isolation
• 5038 hospitalized with symptoms +722
• 877 in intensive care +144

Total in hospital = 5915 +866

VenetoResident · 10/03/2020 18:21

@Sprayitall - it's not so much lockdowns that are the issue here as flight cancellations. If you go, I'd book as close to the flight as possible in case your money gets tied up on a cancelled flight.

KundaliniRising · 10/03/2020 18:22

A question, on the worldometer why do they not show how many people are in a critical condition in the uk? There have been 6 deaths so far but every day i look at the uk imput there is never any numbers for those in a critical condition Hmm

wheresmymojo · 10/03/2020 18:25

Never thought I'd agree with Nigel Farage but he's on LBC now saying how the Govt predictions and stance doesn't make sense when looking at the numbers in Italy.

OP posts:
itsnotjustflu · 10/03/2020 18:30

Good point @KundaliniRising makes you wonder why not. Bojo playing it down no doubt

Jamaica reports first case of coronavirus t.co/eUoE2b20hL

KundaliniRising · 10/03/2020 18:31

It is heart wrenching reading the lunks written by the health professionals in Italy, poor poor people Sad.

Fuck

Miaowse · 10/03/2020 18:32

@KundaliniRising
why do they not show how many people are in a critical condition in the uk?

There was a comment about this on the Reddit AMA linked up thread. The Dr said he’s aware of at least 20 (IIRC) patients critically ill with COVID at present, but it s not being reported in the press. There was speculation a DSMA notice is in force.

NatoPMT · 10/03/2020 18:33

@QueSera

It feels a bit conspiracy like I know. I’m seeing people talking about the gvt doing it to crash markets, the engineered in a lab people, all sorts

I actually think the primary issue is to get productivity back ASAP and it’s a happy coincidence for him, that allows The collateral damage of vulnerable people dying without a second thought from him

I remember reading years ago, an article about how Eton primes pupils for political life by posing debating topics that include how many people can die for a political end and how it encourages the thinking of killing some to meet that end. Which also matches the archetypal psychopath test asking, could you push a person under a train to save the rest of the passengers - the psychopath says “yes” to that

Miaowse · 10/03/2020 18:35

Here’s the section about critically ill patients:

ErinInTheMorning2h
Have you seen the uptick in patients other doctors in Italy and Spain have reported?

They all describe how there is an eerie silence, then the first case trickles in, then multiples, then a tidal wave.

Yes. The last time I checked, we had around twenty critically ill patients in the UK. This number may have increased. A week ago we had one. I believe that there are a number of patients on ECMO support.

These numbers are not being reported in the press for some reason.

NatoPMT · 10/03/2020 18:39

@Sprayitall - do flights get refunded if cancelled or if .gov advice changes the area to a no travel zone?

Ask your bank for a mortgage holiday - I think they are being encouraged to do that

Your husband is right though, sounds like he’s ready to make it work - that’s so thoughtful of him

MoreCoffeeNeeded · 10/03/2020 18:41

@Sunshine1239 It isnt money - or at least it shouldnt be. Another school close to @KeepCalmandCarryonPrepping and I cancelled and rescheduled for no extra cost. And that was not to Italy, but another affected country and no travel warnings were in place.

ofwarren · 10/03/2020 18:41

Denmark reports sharp increase in cases of coronavirus, adding 174 cases in the past 24 hours, taking total to 264 t.co/eUoE2b20hL

Has anyone been watching peak prosperity on you tube?

Prepping taken for granted and proper data with a really good explanation of exponential growth.
