Medical abortion fear

I took my first tablet yesterday and due to take my next lot tomorrow. I’m so scared, I’ve read so many posts and terrified myself into their being issues or it not working.
im 5 weeks. I’m a nurse so I feel like I’m very aware of the medical side and what can go wrong :(

I had phone call today and pills sent via first class this afternoon they said. The sickness is awful isn’t it.

@Lucie390 the sickness is the worst. I’ve had this with every pregnancy and it’s one reason I’m having an abortion. It’s horrific. I’ve called the clinic twice today, they say I’ll get a call before 7pm tonight or tomorrow.

@brownbeauty80 I was feeling a bit fragile this morning and emotional, I guess that's to be expected. Bleeding is bright red still, but no more than a period manageable amounts in pad, and what I can only describe as red discharge when I go to the loo. Sorry if this is tmi but I wanted to be descriptive as possible to help others on their journey afterwards.
I'm hoping that it's all complete 🙏 I am trying to rest but duties have called with my daughters. Feeling a bit drained also so had some iron boosting food and salmon.
@Lucie390 ahh I think I was slightly before the nausea stage thankfully. I had ginger, lemon and honey ready in case I did start throwing up. I had some chalky mints too. I think it would be helpful if they prescribed anti nausea medication. Luckily I wasn't sick.

I was bleeding heavy for just around 3 days then just fading away till around day 7 I think...
I'm now on my second period since this ..

Thank you. All good advice👍🏻 Yes the nurse said I can get anti sickness form the pharmacy. Did anyone get prescribed stronger pain relief ? Co codamol doesn’t usually do a thing for me.

@Lucie390 Had codeine posted out with the kit. I only had half the dose recommended and relied on regular ibuprofen, think that really helped.

I’ve woken up with some very light bleeding from the mifepristone. Like the start of a normal period. My tummy was cramping very lightly this morning as it would when I have a period.

I’m going to take some painkillers now and then take the first four misoprostol in half hour or so

Hi @Lucie390 thank you. I’ve just taken the first four miso now and just lying down waiting for them to dissolve. I’ll update through the day. No tears this morning. I think seeing bleeding first thing has confirmed I just want it done

I got a call from the clinic at 7pm last night. My pack is being delivered today before 2. So I’m going to take the first pill as soon as it arrives. How did everyone feel after taking the first one?

I felt a sence of relief and also a little guilt..
After some big fat tears in the shower I came to the mindset that it's what needs to be done..
u will b fine..
once u make yr mind up u just have to keep remembering why u want this...

@Aahhhhhhhh physically I felt okay. I felt sad but sure it was the right thing for me.

Ive just started bleeding properly about 2.5 hours after taking the first four pills. Going to take the next two after 3 hours. The pain feels like a bad period at the moment. Not pleasant but manageable. I’m passing clots but they are only when I wipe at the moment.

I’ve just passed some bigger clots, and also (TMI maybe..) a squishy white ball that looked like snot, around the size of a marble. It had a black dot in it like a tadpole. I’m guessing that was the pregnancy. Not a clue.

I’ve just taken the last 2 tablets now. Bit more pain now. Again, fairly manageable.

when I wiped before, one of the first four tablets came away and hadn’t dissolved properly. I’ve put it back in with the other two tablets but it’s obviously working.

I’m not really getting any blood on the towel now at all.

If I wipe there’s a bit but it’s more brown period like blood than clots. I had some very intense pain for around 45 minutes which has passed now.

im worrying it hasn’t all gone?

@pepsi12345 Glad you're feeling ok and its been manageable. It does sound like you've passed it but it seems everyone's experience is so different, things ramped up for me about 3 hours after the 2nd set of tabs. The 3 week wait to take the test can't come quick enough🤞 Take it easy 💐

@Aahhhhhhhh glad you managed to get it sorted. I was absolutely fine after first tablet, no sickness at all. I worked myself up so much for it and it was quite relieving that I had no side effects.

I took the first pill about 12:30 today, the leaflet said to take the anti sickness half an hour before, I’ve just taken another anti sickness because I wasn’t feeling too great. My other half has done a full 180 on me and is now saying he wished he could’ve stopped me last minute. Just what I need. My physical and mental health are not good when im pregnant and I didn’t want to inflict that on my 2 kids and other half again.

Hi everyone, I’m booked in for a consultation for a medical abortion on Tuesday. Feeling incredibly nervous and sick when I think about it but so desperate for this pregnancy to end 😔 seeing everyone’s experiences on here is comforting compared to the scary things I’ve read elsewhere. I am thinking of asking to have my abortion in the clinic because I have major anxiety and fear I’ll panic if I am just at home without any professionals nearby to reassure me. Has anyone experienced an abortion in the clinic before? i will be roughly 6 weeks by the time of my consultation (next Tuesday) so hope it won’t take too long to be booked in.

i also find it interesting they don’t need to take a scan to confirm the pregnancy / make sure it’s safe to go ahead with the abortion? My anxiety ridden mind is asking me what if the embryo has implanted in the wrong place. I’m sorry for the long rambling message but also hope someone can comfort me with some of my concerns xx

Hi @Yorkshir27 I’m in exactly same position as you, I’m waiting on my tablets to arrive tomorrow hopefully, I’ve been incredibly anxious about it all and this group has helped massively.

I am at about same stage as you pg wise and I too really wanted surgical option but just a heads up so you can prepare yourself that the wait for me was 2 weeks for the surgical option, I’m already feeling sick so I can’t wait another 2 weeks like this. They did explain to me that if it has implanted where it shouldn’t say an ectopic pg then nothing would happen when you take the tablets and to call them and they’d scan you. They also said to me with all surgical abortions they scan you before to check dates so something else to think about.

Good luck, I’m sure I’ll be back on here tomorrow as this has become somewhere I can come when I feel I’m freaking out. I just want this over now, it’s so frustrating and I hate the feeling of no control over this 😞

@Berry888 thank you. I’m getting a bit of blood now but not a huge amount. More like a light period. Getting some light cramping but mostly it’s painless

I’m gutted my tablets still aren’t here. I’m so terrified about all this I’m completely on hold until I get this done. Tuesday the nurse said they’d be send out first class and they should be with me Wednesday, tracking is now saying tomorrow 😭

@Lucie390 my tracking said the Saturday and they ended up arriving the Friday, so you may be lucky. The waiting is the worst part x
