oh forgot to add DD was breech until 36.5 weeks and turned the morning i went in to be scanned (not a nice experience to be honest as not much room by then - made me very sick when she turned) so plenty of time to turn yet. they wont worry about it for a while.

YummyMummy1208 · 04/08/2010 16:52

Hello Ladies, havent had much time to sit and write on here today without my boss walking in!
baby has been tormenting me today on the whole position front - she turned upside down thismorning but is now breech again - i can tell becos thismorning i was getting battered on my top right hand side and now my bladder is getting a battering! Wish she would just hurry up and get too big to move once shes facing downwards!

Another day at work done, 8 weeks and a bit to go, woop woop.

KFW · 05/08/2010 12:42

Hi all!

yummy - it's annoying isnt it? Mine has been firmly in breech for a while I think. It feels like my cervix is being stamped on (really quite painful/unpleasant!) and I get what I think are elbows pointing out of my tummy and in my ribs (which I find very cute). Oh well, I am sure it will resolve itself. I also find it quite amusing when her head pops out to the side... I look like a freak!

I hope everyone is OK and feeling well. I am feeling a bit sick actually, but I blame her ridiculous movements for that! I am sure it's nothing that a big lunch won't fix

NoTeaForMe · 05/08/2010 13:52

Hello all,

I've never really posted on this thread, hope it's ok I'm jumping on towards the end?!

I'm 30 weeks today and have one of those big exercise balls which I haven't pumped up yet. Is it about time I do?

Thanks

RooBear · 05/08/2010 14:21

Welcome notea! never too late to join, no idea bout the exercise ball, does it come with any instructions??

Jenko77 · 05/08/2010 14:25

Can I jump on too then? I'm 30 weeks today too!

What are we supposed to do with those exercise ball things anyway?

NoTeaForMe · 05/08/2010 14:30

I don't really know what you do with them! I think mainly just bouncing! They're supposed to be good for getting the baby into a good position and good posture (thought it might help backache!)

I didn't get instructions as I bought an exercise ball rather than a specific pregnancy ball, same thing but heaps cheaper!

Hope everyone is doing well?!

RooBear · 05/08/2010 14:48

Welcome Jenko not doing too bad, finish work today (not like I'm doing much at the moment!)then I'm off to Norfolk for a week so excited.

YummyMummy1208 · 05/08/2010 14:58

Hey Ladies,

Feel a bit battered and bruised after being ripped apart in the 'Am i being unreasonable?' section.

Think my hormones havent helped. Theyr still around making me sad/happy/angry all in the space of a minute!

I have one of those exersize balls! not to do any real exersize on, but to bounce up and down on and do lean on so im in all fours as aparently this helps position baby? altho DS1 is amazed by it claiming last nite that it was his favourite ball so i dont actually get to use it whilst hes awake! lol.

Bedroom is almost done now, i just need to buy lots of pictures to plaster all over the walls! - oh, and most important bit, get the cot in there!

RooBear · 05/08/2010 15:04

started to read that yummy don't think I'll ever be brave enough to post in there. [passes hot mug of tea and biscuit] I did the pictures for our nursery as dh reckons I have a artistic flair [twirls] also found some fab elephant stickers from B & Q which are pastel colours and work fab for our gender neutral room.

NoTeaForMe · 05/08/2010 15:11

Oh dear! I have posted on there too, and won't be doing it again!! What did you post about yummymummy1208 ?

I think might pump the ball up then!

babybunting2010 · 05/08/2010 15:20

Hi Yummy,

What's the Am i being unreasonable Am i being unreasonable section???

Just been on an active birth cause with a MW and they went through what to do with the ball, can't type it now as have to write on here whilst the boss is away from his desk!

Will try and type tonight! Sorry!

x

DillyDora · 05/08/2010 15:25

Hi All, whatever it was yummy YANBU so there

Hi to Jenko and NoTea!!!

Just been in a meeting... great fun and nice to see people (don't do much of that in a uni in summer)but all those without children gape at me going...'but you're so smaaaalllll!!!' nooo just right for dates, thank you, just look small....I have decided it's best just to find it flattering

I sit on my ball thing for SPD - it's fab, but I do slouch, I have to be honest...
xx

YummyMummy1208 · 05/08/2010 15:29

i just basically wanted a quick moan, have a few other mummys agree with me on how easy men hav it etc and then i would get on with my day but they took it way out of context and even ended up attacking me about my style of writing on here. aparently text style is not allowed.
so now i feel like complete crap. I may have been unreasonable but that wasnt the point, i just wanted a quick moan. basically, my OH left DS1 (whos 2) downstairs thismorning whilst going upstairs for a shower, which aparently is totally normal and im a control freak for being bothered. maybe it is just the hormones exaggerating if you guys agree aswell but i was so picked on in that thread, i like it here...shud hav just moaned to u guys shouldnt i?!

Anyway, i really dont want to start a war off in here so lets forget about that! Howz evryone this week? getting lots of BH today, had one before that nearly hurt as well which was unusual as they never hurt me normally, just feel like someones sitting on my bump! r u guys getting many these days?

YummyMummy1208 · 05/08/2010 15:33

Thanks DillyDora

Thats all i wanted to hear!

I wish people were telling me i was small for my dates, all i get is my boss and SIL telling me how huge i am on a daily basis.

Way to make the pregnant girl feel good hey!

RooBear · 05/08/2010 15:34

problem with AIBU yummy is people can't offer constructive advice and just get personal, feel free to moan to us in future, we'll never judge!

I'm feeling pretty good, finish work today until the 17th (My birthday-should have planned it better!) so looking forward to a break. I wouldn't know what a BH felt like so don't know if I have experienced any!

DillyDora · 05/08/2010 15:39

Yeah, I really notice that on AIBU people get v carried away rather than trying to help...it's odd.

Yummy I would have been really cross with DP about that, unless DS1 was firmly restrained! Like...in a playpen! So, there you go, you're really not being unreasonable!

I'm feeling better than I was (thank God) so sorry for all my moaning the last couple of days.

I have had a few BH, was a bit shocked as I was only 28 weeks...

YummyMummy1208 · 05/08/2010 15:46

I discovered as much today RooBear, its like they enjoyed ganging up on me trying to kick me down!

I didnt know i was having braxton hicks for ages last time - i always thought it was just the baby moving position and it would make my belly go all hard with a ledge at the top under my boobs. Felt uncomfortable as though i couldnt breath or that someone was sat on top of the new ledge that appeared under my boobs!

Jacksmybaby · 05/08/2010 16:10

Ooh, yes, I love reading AIBU but would be too scared to start a thread on there I think! And criticising other posters for their writing style etc, which seems to go on a lot on there, is just pathetic.

(BabyB, AIBU is one of the topics listed in the "talk" section... have a look at it and it'll become obvious what it's all about! It's great fun to read if you're ever bored...)

Don't know if have had any BH or not... still don't have a clue what they are meant to feel like even on pg no. 2!

Just been sorting out my mat leave... last day at work 27 Aug hurray!

Welcome (back) NoTea and Jenko .

YummyMummy1208 · 05/08/2010 16:20

Im sooo jealous Jacksmybaby i have 8 whole weeks left. but i know ill miss it once i leave. be nice to have another week off inbetween then tho but used all my hols up now.

the weeks r flying by anyhow so im sure these last weeks will soon go.

wish id have mentioned the AIBU place before to u guys cos i had no idea they attacked like that! theyr still going on now telling me how i may need their duct tape to tape DS to the wall while i hav my shower etc. pretty sad really. but let them carry on i supose!

i like gettin BH for some odd reason - makes me think labour is not too far away!

RooBear · 05/08/2010 16:24

leave them to it, and forget the thread, and Dilly don't apologise about moaning thats what we are here for! 9 wks to go at work for me.....

YummyMummy1208 · 05/08/2010 16:27

When r u due RooBear?

RooBear · 05/08/2010 16:29

22nd, so I'll be 38wks when I go

YummyMummy1208 · 05/08/2010 16:44

God ur brave! Mind u i do sometimes think it would be easier to be at work than with my 2 yr old, but it will be nice having 2 or 3 weeks together before baby arrives - and plus if baby comes early i would like to at least have a few days with DS1 just us 2, its the end of an era afterall - he will no longer be the only child! but true.

I cant help but keep looking as it comes up in my active conversations - they are just all discussing how unstable i am and how my name is awful. I feel like a kid who gets bullied at school! lol. What horrible people they r.

Altho i am planning on trying to let OH have more control with DS sometimes and let him learn from his own mistakes rather than me critisising his every move as it differs from my technique.

my belly is so uncomfortble rite now, feels like i have a permanent BH going on along with lots of kicks towards my belly button. Ouch.

Need advice....on my 'to buy' list is a breast pump, now do u think i shud buy an electric or manual one? i had manual last time and it was fine, but thinking about buying an electric one off ebay? anyone used one?

Jacksmybaby · 05/08/2010 16:45

Not much choice re maternity leave due to annoying company policy which effectively means I have to use up all my annual leave before having the baby (and I have pretty much my entire year's entitlement left to use up). But also, after last time, I would be v nervous about working past 34ish weeks anyway, esp as I commute to London which is about 35 miles away from my hospital .

Just had a look at yr thread on AIBU yummy ... didn't read the whole thing but ouch! Those ladies are pretty harsh !
