Could this be a miscarriage? I'm terrified!

Hi everyone, theres gonna be TMI in here so I apologize in advance.

I'm (hopefully) 5+5 weeks pregnant with DC3. Last night I started bleeding, looked like mucus/snot mixed with blood - bright red!!

I checked again 10minutes later and it had gone browny/reddish in colour so thought phew maybe it's gone! Just a blip maybe?

This morning I went for my usual morning wee and there were clots Quite a few of them each about 1cm, I'd say there were 4 or 5 altogether. Blood was still red and has been a steady flow for most of the day.

Now however there is barely any blood - it's never been heavy - just when I wipe iykwim. And now it's just a little bit red now and mainly brown, but theres hardly anything there.

I'm confused, scared, and worried sick. I've never bled with my previous 2 pregnancies, and never miscarried.

Please advise me on what I should be thinking.

I've got an appointment at the EPU on Friday where they're gonna scan me.

Could be anything, and could be nothing to be worried about. Just try to stay calm and get some rest while you wait for your EPU appt.

Hope it turns out to be nothing.

I was absoulutely beside myself the first time I bled when pg, adn ended up in A&E sobbing so much I couldn't speak! All was fine though, and nobody eve told me why I had bled.

I also blead lots in my 3rd pregnancy, and lost huge clots, and everything turned out fine.

I'm so scared it's hardly believable - except to you guys that have experienced it.

It's reassuring to know that its happened to ladies whose pregnancies continue as normal. I think you automatically think the worst outcome possible don't you?

Roll on Friday - if bleeding is heavy tomorrow I will be marching into EPU demanding to be seen. The wait is unbearable.

I had bleeding with DS2. It was terrifying but it all worked out ok.

I have everything crossed too! I'm so scared that we've lost this baby. At the moment I'm finding it hard to think that baby is safe and well - is this a normal reaction? I also have no symptoms of pregnancy anymore, or at least I don't think I do. Then again I could just be focusing on the bleeding.

I'm going to bed in a minute - today has exhausted me completely. Emotionally I feel like someone has beaten me with a baseball bat. Physically I feel sick to my stomach with worry. Nurse I saw today told me I need to rest and be careful with my tummy, difficult when I have 2 kids who need to be taken and picked up from school.

Please let it be a good scan on Friday, please please please...

I'm having a really tough time, i'm about 6 weeks pregnant and bleeding with some cramping.

I've had a EPA Scan which showed my little bean in the sac but no heart beat (I was informed by the nurse that no heart beat at this stage is normal).

Why then am I bleeding am terrified and don't know what to do, I really don't want to lose this baby.

Can anyone help please

kisses1973, the nurse is right, it's too early to see the heartbeat.

its very normal to bleed in early pregnancy, i had a big bleed at about 8wks and it turned out fine.

if there are no clots or cramping it should be ok.

I had bleeding around the same time with all 3 pg's, can be it attaching itself to lining of womb, but sometimes they just can't give a reason, previous 2 pg's was scanned early to check and all was ok, with this pg I didn't even bother the doc and 12 wk scan fine, bleeding stopped after a week, was only light. Some people just do bleed, doesn't necessarily mean the worst. Try not to worry but if it gets worse I would demand an earlier scan, I had 'internal' scans as they couldn't see the heartbeat in the conventional way. Fingers crossed for you x

Not too hopeful as have had another clot this morning (yucky) and have awful sciatica pains on my left side, and also pains in my pelvis which feel like SPD. pain in lower back concerns me the most as is associated with mc apparently. Who knows..guess we'll find out!

Is there any chance of being able to bring the scan forward to tomorrow Kaylo?

I wish there was kayzr I've begged, sobbed and pleaded with them on the phone and they keep saying they're sorry, they understand the stress and importance but it's too early to do anything else. Which I can understand but it's so frustrating - think I'm gonna ask for a blood test as well so they can check the hormone levels, at least theres clarity in that one way or the other, the hormone either goes up or it doesn't - meaning pregnancy over. But I can deal with a clear answer....I think.

Just thinking right now for example, I could be pregnant, but then again I might not be. Not knowing is driving me quickly insane. I'm on bedrest so cannot move, dh won't let me anyway. He even did the shopping bless him - and he's notorious for hating that particular chore

hi hope you are ok ive not been in your shoes but dd found out she was 5 weeks preg and she started to bleed and wassent for a scan and they said it had all gone away,but shes been having probs since so doc sent her to epu and they found a hb and said she must of been having twins shes now 9 weeks

i actually had a miscarriage at 14 weeks we thought we were 17 weeks but it had died at 14 weeks. i have a boy at 17 they treat my pregnancy as my second one and didnt see a midwife for weeks i i have A rhesus - blood and i think they should have checked my pregnancy more regularly especially because i had a dvt and p.e. we should get our babies hearts monitored every week if we and our baby is at risk does any one else share the same view? please let me know

I really hope everything goes well for you. Unfortunately i'm home alone as my partner is in the forces I'm terrified can't sleep don't want to eat but know I have to told not to do anything, very difficult when i'm by myself.

Bleeding has stopped saw midwife who was lovely as usual but said there is nothing they can do until Tuesday unfortunately, she said come home and rest no heavy lifting etc etc.

Thankfully my first scan was booked in the middle of the night on Monday for Tuesday morning so I really do feel for you Kaylo that you are having to wait its not acceptable. I will be keeping everything crossed for both of us.

tbh I would wait till friday because they are more likely to see a heart beat with every day.

Also I bled for 6 weeks when I was pg and everything was fine.

It's a horrible time, all the best for your scan.

Morning All, its 1.40am on Wednesday night/Thursday morning and am sorry to have to inform you that i'm bleeding very very heavily with massive blood clots and have been for 2 hours now.

I have phoned the out of hours doctor who has confirmed that i'm in the process of a miscarriage.

The hospital won't take me in i'm left home alone to deal with it.

I'm so sorry to hear your news, and worried that you are dealing with it alone.
How are you doing? Is there anyone in RL you could call to come round? The hospital may not have any concerns for your physically, but you shouldn't have to face this on your own.

Thanks, i've managed to get hold of my partner who is on a flight home as we speak.

The out of hours doctor has been to visit my home and check on me blood pressure is normal, pulse is normal and he felt my stomach.

I now have to go for another scan in the morning to confirm everything is gone thats going to be horrible.

I'm disgusted with the hospital but am just sat quietly because I keep needing to go to the toilet.

ilovesprouts Congratulations on the twin grandchildren!! It just shows that depends on how far along you are before they can detect anything. How scary for your daughter tho.

chevchina I agree with you. I think high risk ladies should be monitored closely. But then again theres only so much the medical team can do - I wish they could do miracles - think I'll be needing one tomorrow.

brettgirl2 You're absolotely right. Which is why I'm waiting, as patiently as I'm able to be.

My bleeding is still very there but is also very light, This morning there was just a pink smudge on the paper when I wiped first time, 2nd visit to the loo was a orange/brown smudge (sorry theres that TMI again...) Had a nasty clot yesterday morning, was very tissuey so hope is fading. Hard to stay positive when everything thats happening spells bad news. Or seems to.

Anyway, I'm gonna go again. Will probably pop back later xx

I know from experience how devastating a mc can be, for you and your partner. Keeping talking, and being kind to yourself and make little baby steps to recovery.
