Could this be a miscarriage? I'm terrified!

Hi everyone, theres gonna be TMI in here so I apologize in advance.

I'm (hopefully) 5+5 weeks pregnant with DC3. Last night I started bleeding, looked like mucus/snot mixed with blood - bright red!!

I checked again 10minutes later and it had gone browny/reddish in colour so thought phew maybe it's gone! Just a blip maybe?

This morning I went for my usual morning wee and there were clots Quite a few of them each about 1cm, I'd say there were 4 or 5 altogether. Blood was still red and has been a steady flow for most of the day.

Now however there is barely any blood - it's never been heavy - just when I wipe iykwim. And now it's just a little bit red now and mainly brown, but theres hardly anything there.

I'm confused, scared, and worried sick. I've never bled with my previous 2 pregnancies, and never miscarried.

Please advise me on what I should be thinking.

I've got an appointment at the EPU on Friday where they're gonna scan me.

Sorry i've haven't been on for a while, but we have starting TTC again which is good news.

INfection has gone very much hope that I get some good news soon, we'll see not going to dwell on getting pregnant too much just going to see what happens.

ON the plus side the two people that were arrested on suspicion of murdering my friend have been charged and named in the local paper.

Well i'm 4 weeks away from when my Angel grew his wings and am gutted because at 22:15 tonight was the worst night of my life ever.

And to make things worse I got my AF yesterday which has destroyed me so I guess another 4 weeks of ttc and see what happens fingers crossed.

I think this is the right place for me to post.

Firstly can I say to everyone on this thread that I think you are all amazingly strong, supportive women. To those of you that have lost my thoughts are with you.

On monday I did a preg test which was +ve, I had been bleeding for a week - fresh but not very heavy. My GP refferred me to the EPU clininc at the hospital for a scan on wed. There was nothing visible on the scan, still testing positive from urine tests so they did a blood test. The results were "inconclusive for a viable pregnancy" I had more bloods done yesterday - the doc that phoned my results through simply told me that levels had dropped, they were concerned it was ectopic and to come back sunday for more bloods. I have been worrying myself silly all week, still bleeding (2.5 weeks not heavy but fresh) - and still no one gives me any sense!

This afternoon I have spoken to the staff nurse on the epu clinic and she actually took time to explain things. She said that the scan showed nothing as it is too early, the bloods are still not a strong enough indication either way but she said she was very sorry that no one had taken time to explain things.

I always thought that miscarriages were quite quick, does anyone have any experience? I'm feeling terrible - thinking the worst but why are the urine tests all still positve?

Hi there Vickylou I'm sorry for what you're going through.

I can only speak from my experience of miscarriage and mine was a week that I was bleeding for altogether. I never had a blood test tho, started bleeding on the Monday and scan confirmed mc on the Friday idwife oalso did a pregnancy test that day which was negative.

Is there a possibility your pregnancy could be ectopic?

I hope you get some answers soon hun the being in limbo part is the worst because you don't know how to feel.
Don't wanna feel optimistic in case it's bad news, and don't want to think the worst in case it's really not bad news.

Kaylooooo! Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you! Everything is crossed for a nice sticky bean.

I'm still doing ok with mission 1 here. Just coming up on six weeks now and everything is looking good so far. Getting much stronger symptoms this time around, including some MS (bleh!) so hopefully things should turn out better this time around.

No NHS scan until after next year, but I think I may book a private scan for just before Christmas.

I suffered a m/c 4 years ago when I was 9 weeks pg. Very traumatic as you know and totally devestated DH who initially didn't even want to TTC again.
When I got pg a few months later I had bleeding from around 6 weeks to 10 weeks. Lots of stress and trauma but that little bean is now a cheeky 3 year old girl.
Got pg again last summer and same bleeding again the first few months. That bean is my gorgeous DS who is 9 months.

It was obviously very stessful both times, constantly knicker checking but I just wanted to let you know it doesn't always go wrong, just try to relax and stay calm. Fingers crossed for you x

Spirael Howcome you haven't been offered an early reassurance scan? I wonder. Mind you, I wasn't offered one I told them I was having one. A also getting pains on my right side so they're a little concerned about the location of the pregnancy. Which obviously isn't the best news ever but hey...one day at a time.

I'm so green with morning sickness it's unreal - I'm only 4 weeks!! Didn't get it all with the m/c tho, and with dd and ds I was about 8 or 9 weeks before I got it. So somethings different. Lets hope it's nothing to worry about but will keep you all posted

Kaylo was in two minds as to whether to post or not, just wanted to try to illustrate that bleeding isn't always bad news. I had an early 'reassurance' scan after m/c and all it did was worry us more as bean very small for dates but she was ok. Very small for her age but who cares.
Bad morning sickness a very good sign. When I had my m/c it wore off very quickly which apparently can indicate a problem.
Maybe you've got two in there if you've got it bad this soon

Congrats kaylo! Really hope everything works out for you. Did you start TTC straight away or did you wait a couple of periods?

sh77 I'm not the most patient of people and started straight away I just wanted to be pregnant again.

mumoverseas Lots of people have asked whether I'm having twins, it would be lovely, but then again - it would be nice for just 1 healthy baby.

just read ur story...
i mc in july this year, i had an empty sac and it was awful...like i u i thought that bfp=baby but the experience really opened my eyes...

i am now preg again, my due date will be 29th july so really close to u!!

fingers crossed will cross the finishing line together xxx
