/wonders if erm took a doggy bag home

/wonders where she lives

jeanjeannie · 06/09/2009 21:03

Hahahahaha hedgepig nah - we've not got hitched And if we do - you'll all be getting an invite..none of you will have to bring your own food and I'll have enough cake to make even Nigella want to say "no, enough!"

The couple got 'officially' married here...then onto the US (where she is from) to get 'married' (again)and now she's over and resident (visa issues) we all met up to 'celebrate'

hedgepig good to hear the party went well. I agree - small is beautiful!

mrsboogie · 06/09/2009 21:06

a Creationist wedding?

do Creationists not do drinking and dancing?

sounds like the worst party ever jj!!

right ladies, I will be at work tomorrow so will expect a trail of crumbs to lead me to our new abode...cake crumbs if possible..

/reads erms cake porn post one last time....

hedgepig · 06/09/2009 21:23

I just had some nice Cake, my youngest brother and his new girlfriend popped in and she made us a cake! how fab is that. I think I will be encouraging wedding bells .

It is my last week of freedom next week girls before I go back to work on Tuesday, so I will need lot of cake next week.

Anyway bed time, I am determined to have an early night. Have a lovely day at work tomorrow MrsB I'm sure it will be fun fun fun!

FloriaTosca · 07/09/2009 08:16

Good Morning Ladies

Had a scan of all the weekends posts;
JJ that wedding celebration you went to sounds decidedly ... but I like the sound of your potential one though, what date were you thinking of?
hedgepig oooh she sounds like excellent sil material.. hope the first night with O in his own room went ok(I know exactly how you feel...dh had to force me to do it when A was 13mths or he'd still be in with us)... oh, and glad the party went well.
Erm Wow!and more Wow!

lol at all the thread title suggestions...I've booked the removal van and got my passport in order.. may I suggest the word new in the title...as in '40+ new and potentially new mums'... I can't think of a snappy way to put it.. too eary in the morning and too thick I'm afraid.

I have had the lovliest weeked seeing old friends and utterly wrecking my diet.. ho hum... back to the old grind

Must get showered and out...I'll be at the TC from 11.00..I have JWs and Tiggas mobile numbers I hope to meet you both there.

Tee2072 · 07/09/2009 08:47

Morning all.

Had a great night. A slept from 8:30 to 4:45! He then went back down at 5:30, but only slept until 6:30.

I really think it is a wet bottom that is waking him rather than hunger. Any of you disposable users have any recommendations for an overnight nappy that really works?

All you meet up gals have a great time and try to keep in mind us poor, sad gals who have no friends and no life and sniff...I'm kidding. My mum actually asked me yesterday 'so when are you going to make an effort to meet some local mums.' I wanted to answer 'never'. But I told her eventually. Honestly, I would be happy to not go to any mummy and baby groups, but I know the socialization is good for A.

How about:

40+ Mums that are and mums that might be. Come, we'll talk your ear off. And eat cake.

Neddie · 07/09/2009 09:54

Hi all
Just managed to read posts whist feeding really smelly girl tin. I am having trouble breast feeding 2 babies and trying to get pump to fill more than 1 oz in the bottle. All the midwives have looked at me like I'm mad when I tell them I don't want to use formula just yet.Last night I bowed to pressure and gave the boy a top up of SMA and now I feel a bit of a failure as I was trying for 6 weeks before top ups. Any how enough of trouble at the dairy I am going to post pics in a mo. once smelly nelly has been changed.

ermintrude13 · 07/09/2009 09:59

Morning all

Mrsb lol @ all the swooning. Imagine how hard it was to actually be there in front of all the cakes and not cram a bit of every single one onto the plate. Well, not all at once anyway .

JW I still check my older two DC are breathing before I go to bed, as well as lean over Arthur in the cot right beside me because sometimes he breathes so quietly. I don't think I'll ever stop; DH thinks I'm crazy.

JJ A bring your own wedding party seems decidedly mean, especially if people brought shop-bought stuff, with them, what a shocker!I love a picnic where everyone brings good things though - my sisters and I and all partners and kids had one in the walled gardens in Bushy Park near Richmond (which was just over the road from where we lived) before we moved up to Nottingham, and everyone had made a huge effort to make the most gorgeous salads and roast meats and CAKES and it was a glorious sunny afternoon. The men played races and rounders with the DC and the girls lay about on blankets drinking and gossiping. Sigh. If you got wed next summer we could have one just like that. G'wan, you know you want to. .

hedge another party over, bet you feel relieved! DS is having 9 friends round a week on Thurs for popcorn, pizza and a movie. I feel the vacuum cleaner may be in constant use.

BonzoDoodah · 07/09/2009 10:24

Morning all - just calling to see the plans before I head to my first (again) NCT mum and baby morning then heading to the TC. I presume you'll all be in the food hall as nothing has been said otherwise. I'll be there about 12:45 traffic being well.

Tee I use Naturecare nappies as they are biodegradable and they are super all night.

Neddie I am in awe at you feeding two tins by the boob. It must be such hard work - it is just for one - and although baby G makes me want to give up I'm not going to - but if it were two I'd have caved and topped up long ago. Hits for expressing - try doing it straight out of the shower. My boobs always leak then so it's a good time. Also remember BF for ANY length of time is wonderful so don't be hard on yourself x

jeanjeannie · 07/09/2009 10:51

Morning. No sleep here for the wicked Bad night all round - one screamed and then woke the other...GGrrrr

Have fun at the TC ladies...and remember, those security cameras will be watching your every move - so be good

tee glad to hear you had a good night. We use Pampers at night but always had to do a change at night until both girls were about 3 months.

neddie Good on you - I found BF one hard enough at times. Oh and my expressing was seriously small....often got virtually nothing out...yet Verity was the size of a small bungalow...so I think it's often a mental/stimulation thing. For me it never really happened and that's why I got lazy with the bottle-feeding. I'm sure it's not indicative of how much the babies are getting. x

erm Love Bushy Park. Also love the Isabella Plantation inside Richmond Park...when all the rhododendrons come out - it's glorious. We used to do that sort of thing there...ah...Oooo, you're making me want to get hitched Children running around in the dappled sunlight....lovely cakes on silver stands...the boys looking handsome playing frisbees.....**sigh.. Cut to reality and it'd be tipping it down and we'd all be freezing cold, huddled under a gazebo

Right - almost new thread time. I think we should just kick off with something and we'll refine the title as we go.

Tee2072 · 07/09/2009 11:06

Well, JJ you had wanted to start our last thread (meaning this one we are currently rapidly filling up), but I think you were away or something when we needed it. So go for it. Start us a new one in chat!

hedgepig · 07/09/2009 11:52

morning, for what it's worth here is my suggestion,
40+ Mummies - we have graduated from pregnancy and come to "chat" do pop in for gossip and cake

O slept fine in his own room, I still feel sad. O is climbing on my head so typing is a bit difficult at the moment , back in a bit

mrsboogie · 07/09/2009 12:16

jj you paint a lovely picture! that would be a fab wedding wouldn't it? a really posh picnic in a fabulous garden, based around cake and champagne and all the ladies dressed in floaty diaphanous outfits. oooh.

by the way I got some Nars Mont Blanc foundation after you mentioned it the other day and it is perfect for my skin tone. Delighted I am. The only drawback is that I wear foundation every day so it could get a tad expensive... but hey ho.

I like hedgepigs thread title
