Tee2072 · 04/09/2009 21:12

Okay, I am convinced we should move. Chat then?

JJ lol at the mortgage comment.

God, I feel like crap tonight. Mentally, I mean. There must be something wrong as there is a gorgeous panna cotta/brownie thing in the fridge, our anniversary dessert, and I don't want any!!!

Hoping for some retail therapy tomorrow, though! Everyone pray for a long sleep for a little man tonight!

johnworf · 04/09/2009 21:14

duchesse you're hardcore, woman! Your scab hasn't even fallen off yet and you want to get tubbed up again! Are you going milk crazy?

Tee2072 · 04/09/2009 21:17

Oh and, duchesse, you're insane.

johnworf · 04/09/2009 21:19

tee we've got a raspberry cheesecake in the fridge and it's not that I don't want it, I just know if I open it then I'll gobble the lot to myself Now I've remembered it, I want it.

I'll bring some tea chests if we're on the move.......

JJ the H&M clothes were huge. Maybe Swedish babies are mahoosive. I am taking a couple of things back on Monday when I go to TC as in the cold light of day I don't like them.

Tee2072 · 04/09/2009 21:21

Oh, also meant to say that I am surprised H&M baby clothes are huge because I find their adult clothes to be tiny!

mrsboogie · 04/09/2009 21:37

duchesse keep your legs CLOSED woman!! It's temporary insanity - it'll pass!!

OK ladies - sounds like we are relocating to chat. What are we going to call the thread? there are other threads of chatty mates over there I have seen.

/puts thinking cap on

D has just eaten a bowl of chilli and rice and gone to bed so fingers crossed for another sleep through... he had a bowl of beans and toast last night at 9m and slept for 12 hrs so am attempting another protein based supper in the hope it will have the same effect.

of jj's ice cream

lol @ jw's hubby

tee hope you feel better toorrow.

I haven't bought anything from H and M or much from Zara - must have a look - don't think there's much in our local Hand M kids' clothing wise.

Have been ordering D's birthday presents - oooooh I love it!!

hedgepig · 04/09/2009 21:58

evening just a quick break in-between preparations for B's birthday party tomorrow, I have a cupboard full of bad stuff and I am not eating it yet. He only has 4 friends coming and I have catered for about 20 so I am hoping for leftovers. I have just created a "Pin the sabre on yoda" which I am rather proud of DH is promising to blow up bloons but is watching telly

I think we should move to chat too we haven't discussed anything related to pregnanacy in yonks

Duchess they do say you are most fertile soon after giving birth [grin.......hedge nonchalantly wander off

ermintrude13 · 04/09/2009 22:03

Duchesse your endorphins must last ages . I got quite broody when A was around 6 wks old. Most odd - I had a teeny baby right there but was feeling like doing it all again. I was even thinking what a shame it was that I hadn't used up the girl names we'd thought of, but once the hormones wore off I was very happy with just the one, final baby thank you v much.

How are your older DC taking to wee Matilda?

JW lol@ cleavage view! Whenever I try stuff on and ask DH's opinion he always looks v thoughtful and then says 'and what shoes would you wear with that?'. I'm wise to it now - I never ask him

mrsb how lovely to be able to leave D with granny for a few hours. In 11 years we've only once left the DC overnight with my parents - to go away for my 40th bd 2 yrs ago - and it was a HUGE deal. Glad you enjoyed the film.

Tee Maybe you're just becoming extremely sensible and controlled about food with high calorific content? No?

new thread - too braindead to make suggestions but something which leaves it open to pregnant women as well as all other 40-somethings would be important i think.

johnworf · 04/09/2009 22:07

I'm thinking that my DH has probably been chatting with hedgepig's DH.

hedgepig hope B has a lovely party and that mummy gets a mug of gin and half a ton of beef paste sandwiches for her efforts

mrsb K would not ever eat anything like chilli. Nor beans to come that. She's got a thing about textures of food. If she doesn't like it in her hand, it goes straight on the floor. She's managed a full portion of an Ella's Kitchen today and half a yoghurt. That's it. Loads of milk though.

We have K's check up next week and I've a feeling they're going to stop her formula milk. I'm not sure when they stop having it and even more unsure when prem's stop having it. The amount she's still gluggling, I'm thinking it's still it huge part of her diet.

johnworf · 04/09/2009 22:08

Oh yeah mrsb is it next week it's D's 1st b'day?

jeanjeannie · 04/09/2009 22:09

Night, night all. Thinking caps on in the morning for our snappy 'Chat' heading.

mrsB A bowl of rice & chilli and then to bed...Oooo, I'd be farting like a trooper

tee hope tomorrows retail therapy brightens you up x

hedgepig have great fun tomorrow and go easy on table-hoovering up those party left-overs Loving 'pin the sabre on yoda'. I want to make a pinata for Iris's birthday. There is something so wonderfully wrong about small children beating the living daylights out of an object to get to the sweeties. I was thinking about a creepy Igglepiggle shape. All other ideas welcome!

jeanjeannie · 04/09/2009 22:11

Hahahahah mrsB I read that as YOU'd eaten the chilli and gone to bed...thought you were avec laptop under the duvet

mrsboogie · 04/09/2009 22:50

Hope B's party goes swimmingly and you don't get left with too many jellies hedgepig

It's going to feel weird moving out of pregnancy. An era comes to an end...

jw D is exactly the same re textures of food in his hand - if it isn't dry and crunchy (like lego ) he won't eat it but if it is tomato based and on a spoon he will eat loads. this is very recent progress!

I thought the milk changed to toddler milk at 12 months? I was thinking the same thing about D - he is indeed 1 next Friday ( and he is still heavily reliant on it. I think he would happily guzzle bottles and ignore food if he was let.

Tee2072 · 05/09/2009 09:04

Good morning!

A slept until 3 and then back down til 6! It was great

Off to the shops for some things for myself without my men. I'll meet them later for the fun of groceries and nappies!

Talk to y'all later!!

johnworf · 05/09/2009 09:29

Well done tee. No such luck here Up at 10.30 for a full bottle and teething granules. Then again at 4am and I got up with her finally at 6am. Two teeth fully through now at the top. I suspect this is the reason for all the nocturnal wakenings.

mrsb re the milk formula changing...I'm not sure what happens with K. I doubt there is a follow milk to her Nutriprem 2 although maybe it's just the run of the mill Cow & Gate follow on. I'll ask on Wednesday when I see consultant.

We've discovered the joys of peanut butter this morning She likes it (today) and great news that it's high calorie (not so great news that mummy also ate a piece of toast with it on).

Just been and bought a new memory card for camera as the other one just packed up and left without notice.

See Jack Tweed is in trouble again. No surprise.

johnworf · 05/09/2009 09:30

Oh mrsb meant to say, first birthday looming, what you thinking of getting him?

I've been thinking about what to get K for xmas but this morning I gave her an old handbag and she won't let go of it. I'm not even bothering with any toys for her. I'm sure an old pair of shoes and a necklace will keep her amused for hours!

mrsboogie · 05/09/2009 12:00

well jw like you we have been racking our brains to think of things he will actually play with so we are getting him this monstrosity because there is one similar that he loves at nursery, and these and these and, finally, this

well, the chilli worked last night cos he slept from around 10pm til 6.30am.

Now I have to think what to feed him for his supper tonight! a cow's leg mebbe....

It's piddling down here, again.

jeanjeannie · 05/09/2009 13:29

Afternoon - just had a lovely walk by the river and on the island at maidenhead - tres lovely but the girls are still miserable

mrsB OMG ONE!!! Well, Iris has the exact same pintoy trike and still loves it. And as for rockers...again, they last for ages...simple pleasures. We got a huge cardboard box here and the girls are having endless amusement with it. It's the same as jw has found with K - and pair of shoes and necklace..eh voila! Happy child!

Verity still has milk - well, at night. And so does Iris. Good work on discovering she likes peanut butter jw .....next stop Nutella? The girls love a peanut butter sarnie.

When are we moving ladies....? Later this eve?

johnworf · 05/09/2009 13:59

mrsb those toys are lovely apart from the mad Thomas face which slightly disturbed me. I'm sure they'll be welled played with

K has a M&P reindeer rocker that I bought off fleabay for a fiver. She loves it. No bike here yet so that's a maybe for xmas. Did vaguely look at one of those with the handle on the back for shoving them around the park.

We're just gonna have a trundle around the park. The weather, like mrsb's neck of the woods, is awful but we need to get some fresh air. What's bugging the girls JJ?

The solgar came today so I've started K on it. We'll see if it does what it says on the tin

johnworf · 05/09/2009 14:00

I have my spotted knotted hankie ready with all my belongings inside....ready for nod

Tee2072 · 05/09/2009 14:18

Afternoon all.

I'm ready to move whenever. Have we come up with a clever name yet?

Managed to actually find two pairs of jeans that fit at New Look. Applied for New Look charge card, for the 15% off. Application rejected due to no proof of address on me. Still, clerk gave me 20% off, so I'm ahead!! Apparently I can apply again and will be approved if I have proof of address on me...

Weather is lovely here. Had a nice morning's shopping, not including slight panic attack in Tesco. Really must get my meds sorted and soon!!

As a is 3 months minus one week, bought him these. So far he is unimpressed, but daddy had a good time make them rattle and squeak!

BonzoDoodah · 05/09/2009 15:41

ahhh we have a hundred posts to go before we have to move ... that will last us until at least 5pm!
How about...
Forty+ mums who like to whitter/ (natter)? not feeling very inspired. Whatever you decide please leave some breadcrumbs for me to follow as I'm off to Anglesey for the night as have a Christening to go to near Bangor tommorow morning.

Just fooled Daughter into eating meat (she usually pushes it to the side of the plate) my mixing it in with her couscous (which she adores!). Ha - plate is clean and she's asking for more!

We had our heavenly Chicken and Houmous dish last night. Shove chicken portions with the skin off into a casserole dish, mix in a pot of houmous until they are all coated, then a squirt of lemon juice - and last night I threw in some olives for a change - then bake in oven with some jacket spuds - heaven! Easy, quick, tasty ... and no vampires

kktpj · 05/09/2009 16:07

hi heard u looking for older preg mums?
Am 39 and 11 weeks preg.
eldest will be 13 when ba arrives, her 2 brothers will be 11.
am i mad????

mrsboogie · 05/09/2009 16:11

bonzo that sounds interesting! I have never cooked hummous before - what does it come out like? we do a chicken and hummous thing where we bake chicken in lemon juice then serve in pitta breads with hummous and salad. Nice.

If the new thread needs to refer to our age it could be:

the nattering 40+ yummy mummy/old biddies thread

or

the "we've finally been kicked out of the pregnancy thread" thread

or "we're old, we've sprogged and we're here" thread.

(which kind of makes it clear its a matey chatty thread rather than being "about" anything in particular)

mrsboogie · 05/09/2009 16:16

no you're not mad ktpj you're only a spring chicken compared to most of us! congratulations and welcome!

you join us as we are packing the teapot and kettle into cardboard boxes as the last of us has recently sprogged in the last few weeks and we have no business hanging about the pregnancy threads any more...

so we are moving off to Chat we think...please come and join us if you would like to chat to similar elderly types

tee panic attack eeek, and no worse a place than Tesco I imagine.
