yes

liahgen · 15/06/2009 14:05

gosh, maybe it wouldn't be that simple.

If your age were the only concern, then definately. Hope everything is ok for you

BarbieLovesKen · 15/06/2009 14:06

without a doubt. Yes.

Blu · 15/06/2009 14:07

Age wouldn't be a factor in deciding something like that! Why on earth would you not keep the baby just because you are 43 and fertile?

I had DS when I was 43.

Are there other factors that are making you think you don't want this baby?

Cadmum · 15/06/2009 14:07

For sure (regardless of age actually) but especially with a 2 year old...

Is there something else that is making you wonder/worry?

(I think that I would be delighted to be pg at any age but then I am foolish and broody most of the time.)

Littlefish · 15/06/2009 14:08

Absolutely yes.

In your case, you would still have a small age gap between the last two.

Are your concerns about your age/age gap with the baby, the possibility of the baby having additional needs, or something else.

Can we help you to think it through?

LadyOfWaffle · 15/06/2009 14:09

Yes. What is worrying you?

notevenamousie · 15/06/2009 14:10

Is it the risk of genetic abnormalities that are worrying you? Or something else?

cruisemum1 · 15/06/2009 16:35

i am worried because i am constantly tired anyway, i have bouts of terrible insomnia, my ds is wonderous but 'lively' , I was planning on getting back into work once he started school but now I would be 49 before I could work again. I dunno. Maybe I am not anyway

BionicleBill · 15/06/2009 16:48

Yes basically without question but then I would at any age/

what's troubling you OP?

Hey Cruise remember you from SIFLW thread.

Yes. In answer to your question, I think I would. But its hard to say with any certainty as I am not 43 with 2 children already. What does your DP think, if anything, on the subject?

feetheart · 15/06/2009 17:02

I did and I did

I also had a 2 yr old at the time.

They are now 6 and 3, fantastic mates most of the time and fill my life with joy (and worry, and sleepless nights, and all sorts of other things but mainly JOY)

WinkyWinkola · 15/06/2009 17:03

Well, I would definitely keep the baby. I'd think it was a lovely surprise and meant to be.

But I'm not you, Cruisemum1. I hope whatever the result is, you are really happy! Good luck.

cruisemum1 · 15/06/2009 17:09

thanks all. I think if I didnt feel so exhausted from insomnia all the time I would be more positive. It also worries me that I lost my dad last year, my mum is 75, my inlaws are mid 80's. I dunno, I would be 44 on d day. oh bum and bum and bum! . I'll keep you posted. x

My mum had her last baby when she was 46. I honestly don't think she's regretted it for a moment. She had a 22 year old, a 21 year old and a six year old at the time, btw, and two of those were 'mistakes'.

ilovesprouts · 15/06/2009 17:23

yes, im 41 now whith a 2 year old i have two older kids 16/19

cruisemum1 · 15/06/2009 18:08

ilovesprouts. I am 43 with a 2yo so you sound young to me! . Just concerned as dh is 10years older than me. Haven't told him i suspect yet. It took 7 years to conceive ds2 so I didn;t think for a min that we would get caught out. Not done a test yet, am giving it a couple more days. Jsut worrying in case..........
