I am another random stranger/lurker on this thread, been following it with anticipation. My gran had my mum when she was 41, my best friends mum had her 5th child in her 40s, think she was older than 43 actually. Both stories had happy endings

Test woman, test!

MoreSpamThanGlam · 20/06/2009 10:01

I have health issues, financial issues and relationship issues....but if I found out I was "accidentaly" pregnant I would STILL have the baby. My age, relationship, finances, health may be a problem. But the baby wouldnt.

Dalrymps · 20/06/2009 10:02

What's the for morespam?

MoreSpamThanGlam · 20/06/2009 10:02

Errrr why hasnt she done a test???

Dalrymps · 20/06/2009 10:03

Because she doesn't want to yet?!

KiwiKat · 20/06/2009 10:06

Am 43 and very much want another baby - our ds is turning 3. So that's a YES from me.

cruisemum1 · 20/06/2009 21:15

OK OK here we are. Negative . Relieved too I guess but was starting to think of names and get secretly excited. Still no sign of a period though and boobs still tingly. so????

ROSEBLOSSOM - what did you meaan by af? Funny thing is my bboobs were sore the day after we 'fornicated' which was why I was suspicious.
And why no period??? What else could be amiss? Should I leave it a couple of days and test again??? Still not convinced.

af = auntie flo = period

cruisemum1 · 20/06/2009 21:23

FBGIB - oooh I see! No hte tingly boobs were not related to onset of af as this was mid cycle and they are still tender/tingly now. I am so confused! I am the authority on fertility having spent nearly 7 years tryng to conceive ds2 but now i am foxed!

Hmm, sorry it was BFN when you were getting excited cruisemum. Have you alwys got positive results when testing on time before? Maybe leave it a few days and try again if not convinced?

PacificDogwood · 20/06/2009 21:44

Sorry to hear your negative result, or rather sorry that you are unhappy about it (I always knew you deep down wanted a bfp).

If your boobs still hurt and period has not arrived, test again in a week few days time.

Hope you do eventually get the result you not so secretely want. If not this month, then maybe some other time, who knows?

cruisemum1 · 20/06/2009 21:44

my cycle ranges from 25 - 28 days so I will leave it a while and try again. now I have confused myself with my feelings about it. Oh bum bum bum.......

OP posts:
cruisemum1 · 20/06/2009 21:46

pacificdogwood - what is a bfp???

OP posts:
cruisemum1 · 20/06/2009 21:47

btw - ihave only ever tested twice before and both times I was pg. so confused now

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 20/06/2009 21:51

BFP = Big Fat Positive

PacificDogwood · 20/06/2009 22:07

My apologies, cruisemum, sorry for using acronym, I do not even like them much but I am obviously spending too much time on here [brainwashed]. Took me ages to figure out "af"; at least you have the gumption to come out and ask, LOL!!

BTW, DH and I took a big, big welcome risk a few days ago: farcical incident involving a condom led to condomless action - 1 day before possible ovulation, oh dear! So now I have to wait 2 weeks to test, aaaaagh!! I am also torn, kind of hoping my crumbling fertility at 43 will take care of it, kind of hoping it won't..

cruisemum1 · 20/06/2009 22:07

thanks dalyrymps. not beein in a pg thread before!

PacificDogwood · 20/06/2009 22:11

Sorry, geordie [blush.

Trust you to find me....

Dalrymps · 20/06/2009 22:13

Ooh exciting dogwood, maybe you should come back and update us too!

By the way, there's a list of acronyms at teh top I think

geordieminx · 20/06/2009 22:14

I was on this thread first!!! Although just scrolled down and realised you posted 5 minutes after me, hadnt seen it

Flibbertyjibbet · 20/06/2009 22:28

Yes I did!
That was ds2.
DS1 came when I was 42.
Never entered my head to do anything other than keep them.
(But some tactless evil people who are no longer friends thought otherwise and said so to my face )

Dalrymps · 20/06/2009 23:46

flibberty, arseholes!

cruisemum1 · 21/06/2009 07:51

flibberty - that would be something I am sure i wouldhave to deal with. My Myum would be flabberghasted and some friends would think I had completely lost the plot!
