Hello,
Me and Wasabipeanut thought a specific thread for people in our boat may be nice- as lovely as the knicker checkers thread is and great support but a lot of the lovely knicker checkers are past the evil first trimester and for those of us that have just found out we are pregnant again post MC we thought it might be nice for us to have a sub lounge to huddle in and support each other in these very early stages where in a way we are still in denial about this pregnancy!

We don't have to post due dates or anything scary like that, just more a place to wobble with people going through it at same time.

So I will be only 4 weeks tommorrow and 40 days ago tommorrow I had an MMC at 10 weeks but emby died at 6/7 weeks. So am going to be petrified basically for at least the next 8 weeks and would love some handholding- especially as this time I am not telling anybody except DH and best mate. Parents need not know.

Evening ladies x Winjy and Rinbow i am so sad to hear your news x

Thandenka stop stressing (not that i am one to talk) you saw a healthy bean x I was stressing cos by dates should have been 8 wk on monday when i had scan but onlt measured 7 + 3, i asked epac woman and she said this is normal x

Well i can safely say i have felt and still do feel like shite today, the nauseua is kicking in with avengenace, plus trying to hide it at my new job doesnt work x

quirkychick · 19/06/2009 10:25

Hi everybody, hope you are all well. Apart from morning sickness/tiredness/feeling emotional.

Glad Thankdeka and mummytopebs have had good scans. I have midwife appointment later, was supposed to be booking in but the hospital booked me in early. Will take my scan pic as was dated 4 days ahead so am 9+5 rather than 9+1 - every little helps. Will also ask about chickenpox again to get 2nd opinion.

mummytopebs you have my sympathy, 1st pg I kept running to children's loos in my classroom with ms. Not that they noticed lol. Had to tell my classroom assistant, though. In the end had to tell temp head too as went home with bleeds. It's so hard, if you felt like this for any other reason you would be in bed ill!

jardins · 19/06/2009 10:56

Hi everybody! I'm sorry I've been out of touch for a while; I guess I've just been gritting my teeth and getting on with things. (Many on this thread will relate to this I believe) My son has been ill AGAIN, this time with an ear infection. We held off the anti-biotics for 48 hours as to begin with it was viral. Unfortunately at the next appointment he was diagnosed with a proper infection, so anti-biotics it is. I can't believe that my 5 year old son who only had anti-biotics once in the past has now had 3 lots in 3 months. When will it end? I dunno, you try and do the reasonable thing - fresh food, veggies, washing hands, etc., etc. but the problem, I think, lies with pre-school as the kids are not taught to wash their hands regularly (after toilet, before eating, etc.) It strikes me teaching basic hygiene in kindergarten is as important as teaching children to say please and thank you and to write. Rant over.

Apart from that I'm nauseous and fed up. Where has my zest for life gone? Do you guys feel the same way? I'm so relieved as my Phd supervisor, who e-mailed me yesterday for an update of my work, has written back telling me to take it as easy as possible with the pregancy and not to worry about finishing my conclusion! How wonderful. A humane touch is so very much appreciated. It takes the pressuer off me a little, especially as we have the move scheduled in 2 weeks.....

I'm so sorry this post has been all about me. I have read all recent posts and I truely commiserate and jubilate inall the right places. Sadly I don't have the energy to write it all down.

ps Will anybody come and help me pack boxes and dole out medication, please?

Love to you all.

ps Doctor's appointment on Monday.....

quirkychick · 19/06/2009 11:17

jardins you have sympathy from me. Though good news about your phd. Dd has chickenpox so we will be indoors for quite a while, I think. Not too bad at the moment but she was very tearful last night.

Ms/tiredness very difficult at the best of times but with a little one needing you and feeling poorly really not great. Dd had serious runs yesterday too which is really not what you want to be doing!

I'll help you with your medication if you help me apply the calamine lotion! xx

jardins · 19/06/2009 11:23

Bless you quirkychick, you have put a smile on my face with you sympathetic words. My heart goes out to you too with you daughter's chickenpox and the runs too. Wiping my DS's bottom after a normal poo is bad enough these days... Gaggggggg!

Thandeka · 19/06/2009 12:18

Morning all,
Feeling a bit chirpier about the scan size (honestly for a moment there i was having embryo envy- like penis envy but worse!)

Have asked doc to sign me off for another two weeks which is great and am going down to stay with my mother in law for a few days so she can look after me while DH enjoys glasto!

Need to venture to tescos in a sec to buy some fruit so psyching self up for that- hope you all are okay.

I am feeling very down at the moment.

I have had to ring in at work today cos dd is still poorly, they are waiting for test results from hospital before they start her on antibiotics!! Anyway that is getting me down and especially work, cant believe have had t o phone in on my second week on a new job - a new job i cant do and dont know i am pregnant yet - oh god am getting myself all stressed.

Got to the stage where i dont want to go out, worried its depression kicking in - i have this and have weaned my tablets down to 1 every other day whilst pregnant but now wondering if i should up them!! Am going to try and hold off cos we go away next saturday for a week so hopefully will chill then - sorry about the rant x

Liskey · 20/06/2009 13:23

Mummytopebs just saw your post - you sound really stressed - no surprise with all of that going on.

Please try and be kind to yourself and remember its normal to start a new job and think on no what have I done! You've gone out of your comfort zone, trying to do something which is different, which is always stressful.

Hope your DD is feeling better soon.

quirkychick · 20/06/2009 13:54

mummytopebs poor you! I was supposed to be going back to work (supply teaching) in sept rather than waiting to get pg again! I will have my scan on 2nd to last wk of term and nuchal scan/test on last wk of term which is a bit late to tell old boss in terms of references/have you got any work? Have also got day at pre-school booked and a childminder lined up for dd. Plan A have baby, plan B go back to work. Looking like will have to cancel before I know the pg is really safe.

Thandeka · 21/06/2009 09:16

Morning all.
Hope your DD is feeling better mummytopebs please look after yourself.
Quirkchick its a dilemma isnt it- had similar with my school. yuk!

Well today I am scared. My symptoms have started to fade- exactly how they did with the MMC at 7weeks before miscarrying at 10 weeks. I still feel nauseous but I wasnt sick at all yesterday breaking my run of being sick every morning- and today haven't been sick yet- have never been so desperate to be sick! I still have the dry retches but I definitely don't feel as grim as I did last week so I am really worried. I am trying to convince myself that my body has just learned to cope with the nausea or thursdays accupuncture inadvertently took away the nausea (asked accupuncturist not to treat the nausea so she shouldn't have but she did do a couple of points she hadn't done before on me). Although my tiredness seems to have increased so maybe the nausea has been swapped with that- I had two naps yday- one 10-11 and one 1-4! Also the stretchy womb cramps got worse yday which caused another panic.

I have another scan at 9 weeks a week on Thursday I think so will have to hang on until then and keep everything crossed it all works out this time and the emby has caught up with its growth.

Today am feeling

flyingcloud · 21/06/2009 09:40

Poor Thandeka - am thinking of you. Hopefully you are just having some time off from nausea, but I understand your worry. I had two naps yesterday too - went back to bed, having got up at 7 from 8-9 and then like you slept from 1-4, felt very lazy and self-indulgent! I think ms can come in waves though - mine seems to have days on where it lasts 24 hours and other days when it just isn't quite as bad and is better in the evenings.

quirkychick · 21/06/2009 17:35

Thandeka hope you feeling better, or is it worse? I had a day last week where I wasn't sick until 10:30pm and then made up for it! I do think the symptoms can really vary. Some days I feel/am sick but also ravenously hungry and some days I am really sick, know I need to eat and can't think of what I want. Craving a chinese takeaway just now - something full of veg and savoury!

Thandeka · 21/06/2009 19:29

Thanks flyingcloud and quirkychick!

Yayay I just threw up all my lovely dinner! Probably the worst vomiting episode yet- thought I was going to choke and everything came back up. Hurrah! (which seems an odd thing to be happy about but sure you ladies understand)

Am sooooo relieved- (sad though as it was a great dinner!)! Is weird though as today I felt worse than yday but while I was eating my dinner I felt fine (usually is a chore)- twas the last mouthful that got me. Have worked out that meals with red pepper in will get thrown back up!

But hey ho having been sick it has made me feel sooo much better (mentally and physically) feel like am still in with a chance now.

Joy27 · 22/06/2009 13:30

Hello ladies,

I have been away for a week or so, hence my silence. I see we have some new posters here and lots of developments.

thandeka- hurrah for vomiting! (er yes, it does sound weird doesn't it?). I've been feeling like crap, and pretty happy about it!

To update on me, following my scary-but-all-OK bleeding episode the other week, I had another one this weekend. Was really worried, but had a scan this morning. Bean is 7+ weeks and 11mm long, hurrah!

How is everyone? Will try to catch up with all the posts.

quirkychick · 22/06/2009 15:49

Oh Thandeka with you on the sickness. Yesterday brought up whole lunch, this morning whole breakfast. Lovely.

Joy glad you had a good scan despite the bleeds. They are so scary aren't they?

Hope everyone is doing well and that those beans are growing!

mummytopebs · 22/06/2009 15:54

Afternoon Ladies x My dd has finally been diagnosed with an infection of the bowel and inflammation of the bowel, she is still in a lot of pain but has stopped throwing up - i was beginning to think she was having sympathy pains for me x

Can anyone recomend any easy recipies that dont take much cooking co s the nauseua is so bad now i cant seem to cook a meal, recipies for pasta would be appreciated because i seem to be able to keep that down x

HappyBump · 22/06/2009 18:28

hello all

Joy glad to hear all is well, I was wondering how you were.

mummytopebs poor you regarding the sickness, have you tried some of the pre-made stuffed ravolis with some pesto sauce (hope that hasn't made you feel any worse!)

Well, I am still feeling a bit nauseous and tired, which I am hoping is good. My concern is that the nausea is being caused by the progesterone tablets I am taking rather than the pregnancy. Other than tiredness I don't really have too many other symtoms, my boobs are just the same as normal.

I have another reassurance scan booked in for this Wednesday morning when I should be almost 9 weeks. Hopefully if that is okay then I will be all set to fly on Friday when I will be just over 9 weeks. The timing of the flight couldn't be worse as last time when I mc'd I found out that it stopped growing at 9+ weeks even though I didn't actually mc until 13 weeks. The flight is a 14 hour flight, followed by another 1hr flight! yikes! made worse by the fact I will be travelling with an 18month old! I know having "googled" excessively that flying whilst pregnant isn't dangerous but I am really scared. I don't think I have the energy to go through another mc.

Sorry for a very "me" posting.

I hope everyone else is okay.

quirkychick · 22/06/2009 20:39

happybump good luck for your scan and flight.

mummytopebs hope your dd gets better soon. What about pasta with just a little butter/oil and sprinkling grated cheese. Or jacket potatoes with the same. If you can stomach more: plain (washed) salad with it? Noodles with soy, can get fresh that literally cook in minutes, add bag of stir fry veg if you can cope with it. Your dd might appreciate something very plain too. Hope this helps xx

jardins · 23/06/2009 08:52

Hello! I'm just taking time off packing boxes for the BIG MOVE to let you know that I had my first doctor's appointment in Paris yesterday (can't believe how exhausted I felt all day) and all is well! I am officially nine weeks and I saw the baby move with a heartbeat, measuring in at 25 mm! Bless him/her. Phew!

Love and luck to all.

Thandeka · 23/06/2009 10:16

Hurrah Jardins that is great news- and now your MC risk drops to less than 2%. Hurrrah!

Good luck with the move.

Quirkchick your post about food made me retch which made me feel better so thanks!

Happybump fingers crossed for scan and flight

Mummytopebs hope you find something to eat soon- my latest cure is frozen raspbarries blended with freshly squeezed orange juice- is yum smoothie thing and very refreshing and not too sweet.

Joy27 hurrah for sickness indeed.

Thandeka · 23/06/2009 10:20

ooops posted before I had finished. My next scan has been moved back to the 7th July as I couldn't really make the 30th june but will be almost 10 weeks by then so hopefully all will be well (a HB at 10 weeks means your risk of MC is 0.6% so fingers crossed)

I haven't been sick since sunday and felt okay yday (nauseous but not lying on sofa groaning nauseous) but today am a little worse and had some retches so that is good. Off to Somerset tonight for a week staying with my mother in law so that will be fun. (may pop in on glasto if I feel up to it- but shhhh as am signed off sick!)

Love to all.

Just found out i'm pregnant and i'm quite freaked out! I'm new here so sorry to cover old ground. I'm 4wks so I haven't told anyone but my partner (who is also freaking out). I'm worried as i'm about to start a job where I will be working 14 hours a day. I have no choice but to do it. So far i've felt Ok but i live in fear of morning sickness & tiredness. I have also felt a little bit of cramping - is that normal? Didn't think i'd feel so anxious as we want a baby but it happened sooner than I thought it would.
:-/

wasabipeanut · 23/06/2009 13:46

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been incommunicado of late. We decided to challenge ourselves that little bit more and move house. We ended up selling ours way quicker than anticipated - like within a week and now we are screwed as there are NO family houses for sale in our area. Now looking further afield.

When not house hunting I have just been so tired all I can do is nap or lay pathetically on the sofa. I am trying to get to the end of this post without passing out. Nausea comes and goes. I will have almost nothing for a couple of days and start panicing but this morning I took some quite big sips of water and threw the last mouthful up. Also retching at smell of garlic from dishwasher after last nights unwashed dishes. Nice. Plus by boobs are still really painful.

Anyway, how are we all?

westlondongirl congratulations and welcome! Don't worry - cramping is all normal at this stage provided it isn;t accompanied by bleeding. It is just your bean settling in. I do understand that you may be a little in shock. My first happenned like that too - way quicker than anticipated . It will sink in over the next few weeks.

Thandeka Glad you have chilled out a little although sorry that puking is the only way to do that! Have fun being looked after in Somerset.

Jardins Yay! That is such great news about your scan. I hope your ds is now properly on the mend. I can see what you mean about illness being transmitted through poor hygiene. I often think my ds's nursery aren't quite as perfect as they should be. I try and do the right things at home and teach ds as such but thats about all we can control unfortunately! FWIW I think diet really matters. By and large my ds seems to pick up a lot less than many of his peers (I am a mug typing this I know) and it's the peers that seem most partial to junk food that seem to be more prone.

Best of luck with the move.

Quirky Good luck with the scan tomorrow. I can understand how the timing of this flight must be worrying you. Let us know how you get on.

Mummytopebs so sorry to hear how both you and your DD have been suffering. I hope that she is responding well to treatment by now. The recipes bit is difficult. I have really gone off food these last few days and really can't be arsed cooking. I am using a mix of meals that I have frozen with fresh veg from the garden and other bits and pieces. The freezer is starting to look a lot emptier than usual though.

Joy27 · 23/06/2009 17:58

jardins fab news about your scan! That must have been lovely and reassuring.

wasabi I wouldn't worry too much about sickness coming and going- I think it's perfectly normal. Also I find that nausea gets better and worse depending on what I've been eating/doing. In any case I haven't even puked once (lots of retching though), so I try to convince myself not to put too much store by how sick or not I feel!

I don't envy you both moving house, I have to say! Good luck with it all.

thandeka hope you enjoy your time in Somerset, and Glasto if you decide to go along. I'm going to a festival when I'm 13 weeks- camping- yes I am insane.

westlondongirl welcome. How do you feel now the news has had a few hours to sink in?
You know your employer has to take your pregnancy into account don't you, in terms of health&safety etc? If you're not up to working 14 hour days they will have to work around that. I work in a very full-throttle sort of industry, and have been pleasantly surprised by how accomodating my employers have been.

As for me... I am feeling tired and queasy much of the time. Also quite weepy some of the time, grumpy at other times. Still feeling reassured after seeing my naughty little jumping bean yesterday (naughty because he/she keeps sending me into a panic!). I have a scan at 12 weeks which seems ages away right now, but at the same time I don't mind waiting until there is more to see. And I have had two scans already, I think that's enough for now!

Joy27 · 23/06/2009 18:00

Oh and quirky do come here and let us know how your scan went tomorrow. I'm sure all will be fine!
