Hello,
Me and Wasabipeanut thought a specific thread for people in our boat may be nice- as lovely as the knicker checkers thread is and great support but a lot of the lovely knicker checkers are past the evil first trimester and for those of us that have just found out we are pregnant again post MC we thought it might be nice for us to have a sub lounge to huddle in and support each other in these very early stages where in a way we are still in denial about this pregnancy!

We don't have to post due dates or anything scary like that, just more a place to wobble with people going through it at same time.

So I will be only 4 weeks tommorrow and 40 days ago tommorrow I had an MMC at 10 weeks but emby died at 6/7 weeks. So am going to be petrified basically for at least the next 8 weeks and would love some handholding- especially as this time I am not telling anybody except DH and best mate. Parents need not know.

Oh poor Winjy - I'm really inept here but feel for you masses. Please keep posting if it helps or if you need support or advice. I can't offer much advice but you have all my support.
xx

Sorry to hear the bad news Winjy and Rainbow.

I went through the same thing last year Winjy - going back for repeat scans after a bleed at 6 weeks - give yourself some time to grieve and keep talking to your DP - as mine said last year he felt very emotional but felt he couldn't talk to me about it in case he upset me - of course I wanted him to show he was grieving as well.

Felt convinced today I was going to mc - been getting some cramps and working myself up about them - now at 9 weeks which was longer than last time but still not feeling very pregnant. I was worrying to my twin about not feeling very pregnant and then told her about 1 of the guys in my team eating foul smelling crisps (mccoys spicy i think) and me being a bit sick. Cue much laughter from her and telling me no one who wasn't pregnant would do that but I still feel worried I'm not feeling pregnant enough.

Thandeka · 17/06/2009 16:26

Thoughts are with you Winjy and Pinky. xxxxx

Wasabi how did your scan go today? Thinking of you too.

Have my scan tommorrow at two- I swerve between thinking it will all be fine because I feel so grim to utter panic that they won't see a heartbeat. Even if there is a heartbeat I wont be entirely reassured as saw one last time and still lost it.

Good luck for tomorrow Thandeka how far along will you be tomorrow?
I know exactly how you feel, i mean i had a scan last week at 10 weeks, saw heartbeat, arms & legs moving, right size etc but am still convinced that when i go back for scan in 2 weeks that something will be wrong. Especially as now at 11+1 my symptons seem to be getting less.
Cause like you last time i saw heartbeat at 7 weeks, went back for scan a week later and it had died

Good luck tomorrow

((((Hugs to all))))

wasabipeanut · 17/06/2009 17:02

Hi guys,

Good news from the Peanut house. Scan this morning showed one little peanut with a heart rate of 164bpm!

I cried like a child.

Good news is that it has implanted high in the uterus well away from my cs scar (which I was worried about) and is measuring 7+6 which is 4 days ahead of where my dates are at so all is growing well.

I know there is still time for things to go wrong but right now this feels like a good milestone.

Winjy so, so sorry to see your news. I have been there and I am thinking of you x

Thandeka good luck for tomorrow x

Liskey · 17/06/2009 17:47

Thats great news wasabipeanut really pleased to hear that.

Can anyone reassure me that its normal to get cramps at 9 weeks? I keep thinking I'd be daft to call the midwife to ask - and I really wish I'd asked if I could have an early scan in some ways as waiting till 8th July feels like an age.

Thandeka · 17/06/2009 18:01

Am 7 weeks tommorrow.
Last scan where there was a heartbeat was at 6.3days but am hoping because last scan in this pregnancy was at 5.3 days and emby measured 4mm (which was same size as last emby died) then already hopefully this emby is bigger than the one that didn't make it.

The main thing is for emby to graduate into a fetus (which people seem to argue about when it happens but for child devlopment GCSE purposes we say 8 weeks.) so that is my next milestone....

Thandeka · 17/06/2009 18:04

ooops that was in reply to Ciara but took me ages to press send as had a mate over and the thread moved on. Yayay for Wasabi.

Liskey as far as i know is normal but if worried phone midwife they may scan you earlier...

heers for that Thandeka - Good luck for tomorrow.

I dither between wanting an early scan or not. Basically I'm just worrying about something I know I can't influence. I'll try and give the midwife a call tomorrow and ask her if cramps are normal.

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 17/06/2009 19:34

Hi all, can I join briefly until the dream is shattered? Had MC April, and this month my AF (2nd since MC) is due in 2 days. I've had 2 faint positives and a negative and I'm nervous.

I really want to believe I'm pregnant. I'm sick, emotional, I have a nasty taste in my gob, I'm tired and I have twinges and cramps. All good signs for me.

mowmi · 17/06/2009 19:48

Winjy - I'm so sorry...I've been where you are and I know how hard it is. Will be thinking of you.

Rainbow - Sorry you didn't get the little miracle you were hoping for - wish you lots of luck and hope we see you back on here with some good news soon.

Wasabi - Yeay! Great news...another milestone!

All went well with my scan, good strong heartbeat and growth. phew!
I've got an NHS one next Friday so not long to wait for another peep.

Hello everyone else x

quirkychick · 17/06/2009 21:56

Oh winjy so sorry for you. The long, drawn out not-knowing is just awful.

Well, it looks as if dd has got chickenpox starting to get blistery rash. Will probably have to call gp tomorrow. I think I might need a blood test to see if I am immune.

HappyBump · 18/06/2009 04:54

Welcome Totally - a tentative congrats! I recognise you from the other thread. We are here to hold your hand!

Wasabi and Mowmi fab news too

Winjy and Rainbow I am so sorry

Thandeka good luck for your scan today

quirky fingers crossed you are immune

looks like I have joined you with the ms, it is still quite mild but constant which is horrible. I am also pretty exhausted too. I am loving seeing my DS play with his older cousin. I am looking forward to the day when he has a little brother or sister to play with.

to everyone else

wasabipeanut · 18/06/2009 08:03

Welcome to Totallyandutterlypaninied. I love your name. Hope those BFP's get stronger!

Quirkychick Let us know how you get on at the docs. Chickenpox not good. Did you get it as a kid?

Mowmi Yay for your good scan! That's great news.

Liskey I think cramps are pretty normal provided they aren't accompanied by bleeding. I have certainly had some and most of us seem to get the odd cramp or stitch.

Happybump MS is an arse but at least you have some idea that all is well with your bean!

Thandeka best of luck today. YOu ok?

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 18/06/2009 08:19

I've had a 'pregnant' on a clearblue, so I can chill out now. Got symptoms like sickness, heartburn, tired, etc, and I feel pregnant. Which I didn't really have when I MC'd. So I'm feeling very positive today.

quirkychick · 18/06/2009 11:11

Congratulations TotallyandUtterly and welcome.

I am waiting for the gp to phone me back as didn't want to take very infectious dd into surgery. I have had chickenpox as a child, so am pretty sure I am immune but need to see what they say. Also, 14yrs teaching small children and lots of cases of chickenpox will prob mean am ok. I have book in appointment tomorrow with midwife, so they might ask me to wait until then. But no, chickenpox in early or very late pg not good.

Good luck Thandeka with your scan. Know what you mean about goals to get to. I want to get through this wk without bleeds as in 1st pg bled at 7wks and at 9wks.

Take care, everyone. xx

quirkychick · 18/06/2009 14:22

Quick update. Gp says as I had cp as a child I'm fine, she even phoned gynae at hospital to double check. So I will be chilling out stuck at home with a spotty/ill child.

itsalwaysthequietones · 18/06/2009 14:46

Can i hang out here for a bit? Got my BFP yesterday but am only 4 weeks 4 days (you are counting from Day 1 of last AF, right?).

Had MC in feb 07 and a v rocky first 12 weeks w/DD1 who is not 18MO so I know it's going to be a long first trimester... Completely and utterly knackered but otherwise no symptoms really, which is always a bit scary.

So sorry to those of you who've had bad news recently. It's so tough.

Thandeka · 18/06/2009 15:11

Just back from hospital. Saw heartbeat and bean is 5.6mm which is bigger than it made it before (4mm) so am very happy and 7weeks today and feeling grim as anything. Have first midwife appointment tommorrow and I intend to try and get signed off work for another two weeks.

Welcome to itsalwaysthequietones
and hi to everyone else- will post proper when I get back from accu where finally I am going to give in and get her to treat the nausea. Can't bear it any longer.

Thandeka · 18/06/2009 15:33

ooops silly me just googled size of embys at 7 weeks and apparently 1.5cm is about where it should be but then am only at the start of the week so maybe it will increase by the end of the week. Am a bit worried though. Silly silly me for googling.

Balls assets.cambridge.org/97805218/25290/sample/9780521825290ws.pdf reliable resource says 10mm at 7weeks+0 Okay will have to ask my midwife tommorrow in my appointment.

quirkychick · 18/06/2009 18:21

Congratulations on your scan Thandeka. I am seeing the midwife tomorrow too. I have actually booked in at hospital at 6wks but first meeting with the community midwife (although same one as with dd).

I am also feeling very grim - was very sick in 1st pg, so I guess expected. Nothing seems to be working at the moment. Ho hum. Have lost count of times been sick/felt sick today. Keep falling asleep on sofa at 5pm too.

wasabipeanut · 18/06/2009 20:54

Thandeka honey try not to worry too much. From what I have read online the bean doubles in size from 6-7 weeks and these measurements always have a margin of error.

Given that we are talking millimetres here the odds of a sonograher being a bit out aren't that high.

Plus all emby's are going to grow at slightly different rates - as most of these pregnancy week by week sites admit in small print somewhere.

Thandeka · 18/06/2009 21:04

Cheers wasabi and it was a student midwife too - so am going to ignore for time being and get another scan in 10 days. Also revisiting my chart there is a small possibility that I actually ovulated 4/5 days later than I think- unlikely but am going to take that into account and try and breathe! Getting signed off in the meantime though for peace of mind. And hanging out with a newborn on monday which I think is a good thing to do- hormones/pheremones/baby magic to make my bean still grow.

OP posts:
wasabipeanut · 18/06/2009 21:11

Good plan! You know 4-5 days would make a massive difference in growth at this point.
