A lovely new thread

dan hope you get some sleep soon, the first 3 months is the hardest but you're nearly there

In a bit of a strop this morning. We were out at a party last night, I left at 11:30 and left Dh there which was fine. He kept saying he felt he should come back with me but I said stay until the end as we don't see them all that often.
End was 2pm and it's 15 mins away. Why then was it 4:30 before he got home??
Now even though he'll lie in all morning (which was agreed) he'll still be useless when he gets up. Sigh. Why do these men have to stay until the bitter end?

Oh Scarlotti it is annoying. Is there anyone you could meet up with and take the dcs out somewhere? At least then you could get out for the day and not be the only adult company. And rejoice in how lovely it is not to have hangovers!

Hello, I am demi-lurking owing to some RL stuff but me and LO are fine! Just debating whether to go on early maternity leave now, partly because I feel like crap (but in a non-threatening way!) and partly so that I can sit at home and really bask in this pg - really starting to feel like it's going to happen now.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend, not too much to report from here, been in London for a 30th Bday party and pretty shattered now, mainly due to (trying to) sleep on our crappy air bed... Turns out it's a lot more difficult if you're sober - which DH definitely WASN'T - he's such a joy to be around when he can't walk, speak, think straight etc... But we are at least talking today, and he took me out to lunch to make up for it, one of those things I guess?!?

Is anyone feeling brave enough to mark the start of a new thread by joining the list? The graduates list is longer than the passenger list! No pressure though

DD is 14 weeks now, this time last year I conceived her and was around for suport re my previous mmc which had been in April. So am feeling v nostalgic right now.

I'm so excited - but also every time I have the slightest twinge even if it turns out to be wind I get panicky I'm going to MC again. Need to calm down.... it would be great to chat to other ladies in the same boat

Lola and Scarlotti hope both your parties were fun and your DH's hangovers not too grim to witness! It's quite an eye-opener always being sober AND quite tired on nights out isn't it? I just about managed a lovely lunch with friends in Lewes on Saturday, then was in bed by 10pm!!!!!! Such a rager nowadays.....

Always lovely when you drop in dan and I think it's a great omen that a graduate started this thread. Hope the breastfeeding isn't getting you down too much.

As for me, am keeping chin up but really quite sad as DH is off to Greenland tomorrow for 3 or 4 weeks on a filming trip so we'll not have much contact. The beeb look quite dimly on excited wives interupting wildlife shoots with constant texts or phonecalls so there's no communication at all . Well, we get to use the satellite phone for 10 mins once a week but it's not much.

Thanks Sydneysuze Is there any way that your DH can push for more calls given the situation? I hope whatever he's filming knows how to pose for the camera - and he's back in 3 weeks rather than 4!

Have just been back to the thread I was on in the conception topic ...and it turns out that 3 of us have all found out this weekend that we're pg again, hurrah!

Tattifer I waited one period after my erpc and then bingo. Still here at 15+3 so fingers crossed for you.

Lola you and me both on Sat night then. My Dh apparently came home at 1am, threw up, fell asleep on the sofa, woke at 4am, threw up again then came to bed at 4:30. Needless to say he was useless yesterday Think he finally managed to eat at 9pm last night.

Sydney had taken the kids to church in the morning so managed to get out of my strop in the end!! Are you near Lewes then if you went for lunch there? That's where I work!
Hope you keep busy while Dh is in greenland and the time flies for you.

Lola & Scarlotti Blinkin men! I cant even be bothered to go into my DPs behaviour on Saturday, but it ended him snoring very loudly and mumbling to himself and me ending up making the trip to Luton airport on my own to pick up my mum at 12.20! sigh.

I am feeling a little bit sad this morning, flicking through my diary to put some dates in etc, and this sunday coming would have been our due date, I know I hadnt forgotten but I just hadnt thought about it for a while...

cece I hope we have a birth story soon... 18th May is today, and thats your due date on the list so I am hoping you're one of those that goes on her due date

Flappy have a lovely time away, I went on a two week holiday at the beginning of this pregnancy and felt it helped tremendously.. although the symptom spotting doesnt help, you just dont have the mundane day to day things going on so you can relax. You're right about it being a waiting game.

Hi ladies i've been away for the weekend at my sisters and went to the baby show at Birmingham which was tiring but brilliant , it really made it feel like yes we are going to have this baby and bought the most gorgeous booties
I'm 13+ weeks now (still sounds really early) but everything is fine apart from being tired and headaches .
My DD1 has started talking to my tummy its soo cute
Gently i cant go on mat leave til 8th sept at the earliest ! even tho work is really knackering me at the moment i was in bed at 6.37 on thursday night !

Flappybotoskin i went to spain for a few days with my mum at about 8/9 weeks this pregnancy and it really helped me relax like ashleighbee said it gives you something else to think about

Ashleighbee will be thinking of you on Sunday. It's so strange to be happy and grieving at the same time isn't it? I do think it can sometimes be quite stark when you turn a page in a diary or calendar and are faced with what feels like ghosts from a lost future, IYSWIM.

Scarlotti I live in a village between Guildford and Horsham, so not too far from Lewes. We have friends there and go down quite often - lovely place.

Blondie lol at the idea of photogenic narwahl - that's what he's filming. I guess they look quite majestic and awesome, but you gave me an image of them all lining up like in a school photo, tusks waving merrily in the air . Excellent.

I have put this date to the back of my mind for ages and now I know when Sunday comes i'll have to spend time thinking about everything and probably have a big cry.

On a positive note, this lovely baby in my tummy must never have a sleep, he is squirming and kicking as i type, and the other 23 hours in the day seem to be the same...

ashleighbee mine's like that too, lovely, isn't it, after all those weeks of wanting to know if everything's okay in there! The only trouble is that if he doesn't throw shapes for half an hour I start to worry that something's wrong... Hope Sunday treats you kindly.

Everyone else Thank you for egging me on for early maternity leave, but from early shift this morning it's quite evident that I won't be able to wrap things up early unless there is a very good medical reason (which of course I DONT' want - mind you a nice sprained ankle or something similarly un-preg-threatening might be welcome!!!) So I still have 10 weeks to go, just going to stick rigidly to my contracted hours and not keep saying yes to lots of extra things...

Had a visit from a lovely friend yesterday and her 3 year old who was born at 26 weeks. I'm 26 weeks now and although I wouldn't wish what her family went through on anyone, it is strangely reassuring to know that if my LO made an appearance it wouldn't be a definite case of "Game Over."

Suze, oh my goodness. I thought I had it bad when DH had to spend most of my first pregnancy in Wales or the north of Scotland.

Gently, it is a relief when you reach viability, isn't it? I know that having a premie is a long way from a walk in the park, but it beats the thought of a late miscarriage...

I'm a bit grumpy today - I rang the midwife to find out when I was going to get the date for my anomaly scan, and when she got back to me, sounding harried, she said 'But you haven't had a letter from the hospital? Maybe ages ago? A letter? No?' No, I haven't had a sodding letter. First I get my ten week booking appointment at thirteen and a half weeks (which would've been too late for a nuchal if I hadn't got on and booked it privately) because my doc's referral letter got lost in the hospital systems, and now apparently I might not get the anomaly on time... I've heard that midwives in this area are wickedly overworked and understaffed, and the whole thing is making me rather gloomy.

Hi Ladies - wondering if I might join this thread? had a mmc last year in August and I'm now 5 weeks pregnant.

I'm now worrying about mc again of course especially as I've just been to GP's to have it confirmed and he said he wants me to have bloods taken in case i were to miscarry again.

Liskey, I think it's a good sign that your GP sounds concerned. Mine said that they'd only run tests if I miscarried three times. Do you think you can get an earlier scan..?

Tattifer I am nearly PMSL as I have just noticed that my remark about your DH was punctuated with the word "grim" when I was actually trying for a "grin" - I'm sure your DH is anything BUT grim!

Liskey Welcome in, have a seat! Congratulations on your 5 weeks news! I'm sorry to hear about your mc last August - naturally you'll be worried this time around, however there are plenty of us here who know how it feels. Just shout if you want to rant or ask advice.
