Lastbox - Bebeconfort Loola Up (as opposed to Streety) does all you want in your list AFAIK.

Looking for something that can lie flat/use from birth - Check

Preferrably without a carrycot as don't have the space to store extra bits - Check

Can face me or out - Check

Light enough for public transportation, but rugged enough for long walks in the park - Check

Would also love for it to fold with seat unit on - Check

and to take a carseat directly onto the chassis - Check

naomi83 does the maxi cosi car seat fit onto the pliko pramette? i know their car seat is supposed to be crap but i really need a car seat that clicks onto the pram too for eg travelling on plane etc- i'm assuming it will be much easier to get around airport by clicking the car seat onto the pram/buggy (pliko pramette). if the maxi cosi fits the pramette that would be fab- please let me know!!!
thanks

no, it doesn't, sorry eviebear. for the record, it is crap, but it does do the job, and we used it the whole first 12 months (although will be buying new for next DC). Does make buggy VERY heavy to push though, not ideal for airport. have you found out for sure if you could use the carseat on the plane? might be easier if you just get a taxi here with one/ a lift from a friend with your car seat in and rent one when you get abroad?

the new plikos have the weighted frames which is a huge shame as the older one was great! i had a pramette for my dd1 and loved it i have had a newer one and much heavier and cumbersome

i also agree on that car seat! whats the deal with it!??

#naomi83Thank you for highlighting about the M&P carseat. I've looked at lots of reviews and most of them make bad reading. I've decided to stick with my maxi cosi cabrio seat (which I had already)and buy a quinny frame, which is compatible with the maxi cosi seat. I can use this for quick trips in and out of the car. I've got my Pliko pramette for longer trips.

good value zapp perfect for car and airport with the carseat, and if the lack of recline bothers you once baby is out of the carseat you can ebay it and put the money towards a maclaren quest or triumph

MM - I got the frog Won't tell you how much for Paid £50 more than I'd have liked to but hopefully if description is accurate I'll have a quality pushchair in mint condition for a fraction of what it would cost new. Now I just need a car seat and adapters. Think it's a maxi cosy I need (cabrio-fix). So thanks a lot for all your help

Haven't read all this but my Phil & Ted's Vibe is back for its THIRD repair in seven months... mothercare is also a nightmare insisting on repeated repairs rather than giving me my money back. Basically the front wheel keeps coming loose and shudders alarmingly causing pram to jolt. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone! It is pretty much brand new as I don't use it loads.
On the other hand my bugaboo cameleon is still going strong after 3 years and I love it... use it with buggy board now and it's super.

madmissy · 19/05/2009 09:53

picklesmama just to add to that all that was needed was a new ball bearing and if you are still having problems with mothercare it may be worth giving out'n'about a call apologies if thats what you have already done!

madmissy · 19/05/2009 10:51

LL thats great! well done

picklesmama i had a vibe when they were first released imported from USA the ball bearing went within a week on the frint wheel causing it to shudder badly when pushing it as it was from USA no one would help me or fix it in the end a friend who had just recieved hers from UK said it was hers with the fault and i got it fixed and sold it pronto! if i were to get a P&T bit would be a sport for sure. the dash has also had lots of problems already and has been recalled

P&T have also recently just taken on Mountain Buggy so it will be interesting to see how the quality is affected with them!
