Hello everyone

I'd just like to say that I'm not the gadabout it may seem - although I have been out more in the past couple of months than in the whole of the previous year... We've only been out at night without the DC twice since October, honest! . One of which was last night - Ed Byrne was v funny, but didn't make me laugh til I cried, so Frankie Boyle and Michael McIntyre are still my favourites. Although I wouldn't kick Ed out of bed for crumbs.

Ooh ladymac I'm so excited, sounds like it's all moving. JW I think the cervix never closes completely after pregnancy but wouldn't be open as much as 2cm - unless it's an 'incompetent cervix' - lovely phrase - which causes early miscarriage. So I'm sure she's on the way.

duchesse Our worries are that this LO won't be like its big bro and sis both of whom are - for now, touchwood etc.- generally delightful. They weren't even tricky babies. They're part of the reason we thought another one would be a good idea - but then we realised - this could be 3rd time unlucky. So I'll join you in lala land and assume DC#3 will be exactly like its siblings rather than something from The Omen. Yikes .

JW congrats on that weight loss, it's a v impressive rate you've set there.

Off to do Wacky Races in the park now.

sorry mrsB...I'm sure you have corrected that before.

I meant to post something an hour ago but got waylaid by a phone call...I don't know but there never seems much good news at the moment... last 2 calls have been from friends, one who has just lost her fil and the other for a family friend whose 32yr old son had a seizure 6 months ago and has been in a coma ever since, apparently he had another on Sunday which killed off his last firing neurons and he finally passed away this morning....I don't know whether to weep or be relieved for his Mum...poor love lost her husband 3yrs ago, her sister in January and now her son..if it was me, my mind would be the next thing to go....it is taking me ages to type this one handed as A has fallen asleep on me and I have no inclination to put him down.

Back to what I was going to say;

JJ A. has a Bob the builder type hat you can borrow between episodes of the programme on Cbeebies if he can have a go on the digger too please....(daddy said "me too")

LadyM oooh excited...so close!...I hope it all goes really smoothly and easily...good luck....

at those whose los sleep through.... after waiting 18 months for it the one night last week has yet to be repeated

ooops he is waking...got him in knickers/underpants so better go get the potty quick

Tee2072 · 08/04/2009 11:55

Gosh floria how horrible for your friend. I wouldn't put A down either.

Yaeh ermin I think its time you got a hard baby!! If you do, you can blame me for jinxing you!

Woohoo ladymac good luck for what sounds like an imminent arrival.
I met my neighbour in the supermarket at 9pm last night. She's due in a couple of weeks and was wandering round for stuff for her hospital bag. Although she thinks her baby is breech. I suggested the cold shower technique to her but I think she secretly wantes to just get it out now so would be happy for intervention. Shame really.

jw - brill weight loss - but bummer about the itching. Have you tried cold flannels around your ankles? Gave me a bit of relief when I had a massive alergic reaction to the CS scar tape they used. Spent the first 2 weeks of M's life scratching my entire body like I was possessed.

Mum and Dad are looking after M today. Had a report that by midday she had take a bite out of every orange in the house and Dad had already resorted to CBeebies as bribery. Ha!

Right ... I'm going to update the list again coz I'm not 41 yet [sulking face]. Sure i updated it once before but it must have been lost.

Hello all - it's list land...HUzzah! There are loads of impending babies

Been to playgroup and knackered.

duchese am PMSL@ description of your DC..! Yes, maximise this one's potential - remember to keep your eye on the prize - get those scholarships - Radio 3 recitals! DP is a R3 fan....we're having to do 'Live at the Met' every Sat, currently Wagner's The Ring Still, it keeps him quiet!

We're looking school fees in the face....very scary....even though it's a 'cheap' independent, it's not something we thought we'd be having to do. Please tell me you don't regret it.....*crosses fingers and hopes.

Floria you are all most welcome to come and play on the diggers, drive the tractor-barrow and push the whacker-plate along! Grown up men especially welcome as DP could probably do with the company!

JW hope you get to the bottom of your weird itch?! Have a lovely day out.

I'm off to go and practise stormfly's 'gentle look of concern' which I'm sure will take Iris by surprise and snap her into being a docile and obedient child......

MUM41plus5 · 08/04/2009 14:00

ladymac excellent news on the progression of labour, it is a lovely time of year for a new addition...thinking of you and wishing you the birth you've been hoping for!

jw the week just seems to go so quick, weigh day already and I bet you'll be having a good day knowing the hard work is paying off, another 2lb, lucky you knowing full well that my frame of mind at the moment is the more I eat the more comforted I am [pblush]

Well fingers crossed here that we have had the last of the vomit, all 3 are keeping down drinks and solids but are still a little lethargic which is understandable and runny noses a plenty still but think we are over the worst now

mrsboogie · 08/04/2009 14:09

well when I took D to the nursery this am there were the dreaded notices on the door - chicken pox and several cases of the D and V bug in the baby room. I wonder what I'll be doing over the Easter break??

Tee2072 · 08/04/2009 14:48

mum41 just got the email from your DH! Address sent, shoes eagerly anticipated.

jj Have hardly ever had cause to regret paying fees, apart from the fact that I would have my earnings available for other things if we didn't.

I was not a knee-jerk private school person, having been perfectly adequately educated in the state system (albeit in Foreign), but training as a teacher when my first was nearing the end of infant school age had me running for the independent hills. It has to be the right school for your child though, and preferably a school that suits the greatest number of your children, or you end up with impossible logistics.

ladymac · 08/04/2009 17:24

Still here after 2 hours of contractions during the night when I was sure it was all starting. A strong contraction woke me at 2am. You'd think I'd be an expert, this being number 5 and all, but it was obviously a little practise run to keep me on my toes. By 4am the contractions had subsided and I think I had about another hours sleep after that. No wonder I've got an awful headache now.

Met a friend and her dd at the park this morning then on to another park (I did drive) where the home birth midwives have a weekly meet up in the cafe. It's a brilliant idea as I've now met the whole team. Women who've already had homebirths go to with their babies too so I had a nice cuddle with a 12 week old in the hope that would get my hormones going!

The midwives think it will happen in the next 24 hours. I do hope they are right. I am tired, headachey and feel like my 'undercarriage' could drop in to my shoes at any moment. Miraculously everybody says I look great! Isn't make-up a wonderful thing?

johnworf · 08/04/2009 18:14

Afternoon ladies. Had a good day out but missy is screaming her head off as she's not had her allocated amount of sleep.

mrsb crap in a word. But, D (and all the other LO's on here probably) is going to get chickenpox at some point. D & V not good. Don't want him to have that one at all. Fingers crossed for you that this time you've managed to dodge both of them.

Pic taken today by my DH at Blue Planet. Bit fuzzy but he isn't David Bailey by any stretch. I've put some more up on FB if you're interested.

Off to help older DD tonight. She's finally got the keys to her new flat so off to do a reckie.

Thanks for the encouraging words on the 2lb loss. Obviously the weight loss has slowed but that is fine with me

sissy0928 · 08/04/2009 19:44

Hi Ladies! Hope everyone is well and all kids are healthy and happy!!

Had my 2nd scan this morning, looks like a little jelly bean in my tummy! And only one, dr had to make sure! I couldn't believe the difference in size...Dr found a cyst, never had that before, but he says it's nothing to fret about...heartrate was 146/min...possibly a boy? That is all myth, right? Due date is Nov. 23rd now....

mrsboogie · 08/04/2009 20:37

jaysus jw svelte, much?

sissy good news! and yeah I think it is a myth...

hedgepig · 08/04/2009 21:07

JW what a skinny mummy you are well done you. I have been wondering is the drug actually doing something? or is it your fantastic self control on the low fat diet because you don't want to get caught out. O has also been wailing because he hasn't slept all day he is FINALLY asleep now.

Had a lovely time at the dentis this afternoon, the feeling in my fac has finally returned.

Duchess I do hope you get the angel child you hope for

Sissy well done on the scan, I'm sure the hart beat thing is a myth too as is you are more sick with a Boy, I was more sick with DS2 than DS1 and they are both boys!

hedgepig · 08/04/2009 21:08

that was dentist and face by the way

mrsboogie · 08/04/2009 21:33

hegepig the drug doesn't do that much really - prevents the absorption of some of the fat you eat - it is mainly the self control element I think and the fact that you must be very aware of what you are eating. I know this because I have been on it for three days now and I am being EXTREMELY careful about what I eat
