Morning all.

Ugh. Think I've got a bug. Been throwing up. Yeah, not at work!

Nice day here, too. And I'm gonna spend it on the web and sleeping!

Morning. Please, please ...take the choccies, eat them, throw them in the bin for all I care - so long as they're not in the house!!! hands jw* knackered crown

Iris is having the screaming abdabs for over an hour - not sure what about...but she's gone back to bed! DP is trying to do his VAT returns and it's raining. What a joyous pic eh!

tee sorry you're feeling YUK...web and sleep sounds good to me.

jw OOooo, nice day by the sounds of it yesterday. Tiring but nice.

OK anyone....GEEK help wanted. Does anyone have the faintest idea why I can't get a PDF to attach to a web-based email??? Tried both my Google mail and Yahoo Mail...and it just goes round and round - won't attach. Any ideas - shove 'em over this way. Ta V muchly

Right - off to rescue Verity who is waving a bib in front of Bob - think Bull fight on a smaller scale and you're about right

heron22 · 27/04/2009 09:45

morning all ! fired cleaner this morning cos again at last minute she texted me to say she could not come cos she is working for someone else. i need someone who is reliable. now after a crazy weekend, house is a tip, kitchen is a nightmare! busy looking for another cleaner this morning.

how is everyone?

mrsb how heavy is your LO now? i hope my LO can use amby until he is 18 months old! not sure tho.

heron22 · 27/04/2009 09:52

must tell you all about this baby wipes that are so good. it is called clearly herbal. no chemicals. smells great!

jeanjeannie · 27/04/2009 09:53

heron I could do with getting out of the house. Central London you say? (MMmm, 35 mins train journey to Marylebone...tube....short walk) should be with you in about an hour...I'll bring my vim and bleach. I'm very thorough...tops of doors, plug holes shining...the works. Cuppa tea would be nice and don't hold back on the biscuits

heron22 · 27/04/2009 10:26

jj hi hwo are you?

have lots of cuppas but fresh out of biscuits!

what are you up to today?

ermintrude13 · 27/04/2009 10:26

JJ could you pop up here once you've done for heron? I'll buy you some gingerbread men from Birds, I promise . Can't help on the PDF front I'm afraid; never had that problem unless someone's sent a file in Mac format without converting.

JW I hope you're on commission for that ebaying. Something tells me you're a busier person than DD, if 'busy-ness' doesn't include wild 20-something social life... What a very nice kind mummy you are - I'll tell my mum, who's always trying to make me ebay her collection of Robertsons golly jam spoons - that she should be doing it for me.
Hope you have the chance of a rest and no more noodle-picking today.

Tee enjoy your day at home. I threw up all my lovely roast lamb dinner last night and have MW visit this morning so there'll be ketones in my wee sample again. However, one look at me should reassure her I'm not malnourised

Rainy and grey and horrible here. Boo!

mrsboogie · 27/04/2009 10:34

morning all

Heron I have no idea what he weighs as he hasn't been weighed since he was 8 weeks. He is heavy though. I can't see him being in the Amby for nearly a full year more!

Horrible day here, horrible work too. Boo.

Sorry to hear you are feeling rough tee still a couple f days off this week and you have only 2 left!

This swine fever business is all a bit eeek

johnworf · 27/04/2009 10:57

mrsb you're right. It is eeek. And other SiL (not the bonkers one) is in Mexico with son and daughter. Not heard from BiL (he's not gone with them) so hope all is well.

It's persistently pissing down here. But hey, it's Manchester so that could pass as summer.

Dunno what you're doing with that PDF JJ. I'd need to think about the problem and brain is incapable of doing such a complex thing at the mo.

Oh dear tee you really are having a crap time dear. Well as my mum used to say, crappy pregnancy, good baby Hold that thought.

ermintrude Robertsons jam spoons you say They sound mighty interesting. Actually they're very unPC now. Robertsons jam factory used to be just up the road from my old house. Ahhhh.

I'm wearing a tank top today. I've discovered I like them. A lot. It's a sign of my old age methinks. I'm bidding on another White Stuff one. I'm hoping to have a huge collection by autumn

Booking hair appointment for both myself and the dog. Hopefully I won't get them mixed up and end up with a flea bath and a number 1 all over.

K is still falling for the sneaky place in cot trick. Just thrown an old rag over her as she's asleep. Bonnet de douche as Del Boy would say.

jeanjeannie · 27/04/2009 11:12

Well, girls are finally up, washed and reasonably fragrant. Not doing morning playgroup this morning...but shall visit friend round the corner this afternoon. Highlight of the day will be the trip to the fabric shop at the end of the road to get some blackout curtain material for verity's room - hopefully cease her rising with the birds.

ermintrude Golly spoons! Blimey...I've actually got a Roberston's Golly soft toy, perhaps as a combined lot they'll be in huge demand

Cor jw Mexico - crikey, worst place to be right now...eek. Does sound a bit strange, and a never-before-seen strain of flu too, gosh, I hope it turns out to be summat and nowt, bit like bird flu or the Sars virus.

Tank tops ROCK. AND, AND...they're BANG on trend

duchesse · 27/04/2009 11:41

Hey all. 24+1 now, am having a terrible time with my father sending me rabid emails, work going tits up (as in nothing coming in), and now no appetite. Feeling mildly nauseous all the time and can't think what to eat at all. All I've had this morning is a banana and I have to force myself to have some lunch soon before going out to work but can't think what.

On the plus side, Baby Arf is growing well and the weather has been glorious for quite a while, so got loads of gardening done.

heron22 · 27/04/2009 11:50

eating soup with tiger bread! so yum!

heron22 · 27/04/2009 12:10

weather here crap too

tee hope today is better for you.

worried about this swine flu thing!

jw wish i was slim enough to wear tank tops!

heron22 · 27/04/2009 12:23

friends gave me a mothercard gift voucher but just found out that i cant use the giftvoucher to buy things online or via the phone! how ridiculous! i have to go buy from a mothercare store!

jeanjeannie · 27/04/2009 13:02

duchese awwww luvvie, poor you - you are having a rotten time (((hugs)))) Sorry to hear your Dad is being difficult too - hard to cope with family sometimes. Good though to hear LO is growing well. I think ermintrude is the queen of prolonged nausea - so I'm sure she'll be able to commiserate with you x

heron what on earth is Tiger bread?

In a foul/fowl mood here today...not sure why...perhaps period is about to start.

On a lighter note though my very good friend has just given birth at 11 this morning She only finished work on Friday!! I was due to see her for lunch on Weds....clearly she was in a hurry as her DH said it was the worlds quickest and easiest birth ...ever!!! And it's her first!
Awwwwww, sweeeeet

johnworf · 27/04/2009 13:03

heron that's poo. Now I remember why I hardly ever go to Mothercare

Tabitha8 · 27/04/2009 13:10

JJ I like the sound of your friend's labour. I'll have one of those, please.
Duchesse I've been living on fruit and cheese salads for weeks now. Stawberries, plums, oranges, apples. All are yum, yum. Taste just as nice if they have to come back up.

johnworf · 27/04/2009 13:42

Right, just finished taking pics of all these blasted clothes. I'm sorry I offered to do this but the proceeds of the sale are to pay off her debts to Bank of Mum. Seems I have to work to get my money back.

JJ congrats to your friend. Pat on the back for speediness. Guess lunch might be postponed now....praps until Thursday?

Tiger bread has something done to the top. Think it has a paste painted onto it and when it comes out of the oven, it appears to have tiger stripes. They sell it in ASDA but I never buy it as it's white bread and that's not on my list of things I can eat (btw, there are only 4 things on that list).

heron I've just been admiring the sideways view of myself in said tank top. Still got a belly but the top belly is shrinking IYKWIM. Just got to get down to the last double chin and then I've cracked it! Doesn't help when you send DH to the shop for bread and he brings back a family pack of marshmallows. What's a girl to do...?

mrsboogie · 27/04/2009 13:54

JW I bet there are five things on said list - salad, veggies, chicken, porridge and marshmallows?

my list has ginger biccies on it

johnworf · 27/04/2009 13:57

mrsb biscuits? non?????

I've just been looking over the pics of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly i.e. The BAFTAs last night. There's something strangely attractive about Justin Lee Collins. Not sure if it's the beard and hair combo or his accent or just that he's plain daft. OOOH and what a lot of weight he's lost.

(goes off to rewrite 'The List').

BonzoDoodah · 27/04/2009 14:24

hi all
I've had a mad weekend after a mad week. We have a new bath and sink fitted in the bathroom - the old bath was small and narrow and shallow but this new one is wide and long and deep and has taps in the middle! It's wonderful! M can bath sideways in it! Shame it takes up more than half the bathroom - but who cares eh! The sink is super too - a lovely square one - The old one had a pointy rim round the edge and I banged my head on it every time I sat on the floor giving M a bath. Need to christen the new bath now .... just need some time when I'm not asleep!

Sunday was madly hectic - there was a toy sale in a school near here - like a car-boot but toys and clothes etc. I bought a TriptTrap high chair for £15 (bargain!) and a tool toybench this for £2 and a box of toy supermarket shopping and a tea-set for a quid each! Shopped out and happy! M loved the tool bench and spent the day drilling!
After the toy sale had best friend for afternoon - indulged in Waitrose Carrot cake - DIVINE! Then had Norwegian relatives for roast-lamb Sunday dinner. Took them back to mums at 10pm and came back and promptly fell asleep on the sofa.
Wonder why I'm feeling shattered today?

johnworf · 27/04/2009 14:56

Tripp Trapp for £15?????? OMG. Mine cost a lot more than that.

heron22 · 27/04/2009 15:02

jw my DH is the same - brings me home a large pack of marshmallows - my favourite
he is being sweet but not helping my waistline!

tiger bread is this bread i got from waitrose! so yum.

BonzoDoodah · 27/04/2009 15:04

It was all second hand stuff - but the chair was in excellent condition. I nearly snatched her hand off!
I have an ikea high chair for M but with No2 coming and M growing I thought the Trip Trapp would be really useful. Mind you have to now persuade DH that is is a great buy and not just more junk to fill the house with.

Tee2072 · 27/04/2009 16:13

bonzo you just described my dream bath! I am !

Good thing I took the day off...slept an additional 2 hours this morning and 3 hours this afternoon! I think I needed it!
