morning all! another gorgeous grey dreary day well, at least it is not raining! i have not been out for 2 whole days and today i am determined to step outside! feeling all cooped up!

last night, DS1 watched dr who with us. dont think he understood what was going on. he enjoyed staying up with mum and dad tho

about birthing pain relief, some women are lucky that they didnt tear and were able to do it au naturel. me, i've had 2 elective sections. both were due to medical reasons. so i dont know what a contraction is like. it took me awhile to accept this and i dont feel ashamed to tell people anymore. i used to feel less of a mother than women who "pushed".

expressing milk at the mo, and then will have a nice cooked breastfast - well, i have to cook it first!

jeanjeannie · 12/04/2009 10:39

Morning all...and HAPPY EASTER!

Have a lovely day with the family jw don't go doing too much....what with your finger all cut....you put your feet up...let them all fuss you. Yeah, right....!

Tee oh, the fun of weird dreams. I found the third trimester full of absolutely barking dreams - I mean real corkers! Congrats to your friend...wow...he was a big 'un!

heron cruddy weather here too. OOooo, a cooked breakfast....MMmmm, just porridge here.

DP is feeling rough - Verity is also tres snotty and in bed after her 5.30am rising May have FIL over for a spot of my herb crusted lamb leg dinner. May pop by later...have a nice day all

mrsboogie · 12/04/2009 10:59

morning all

Well OH was up all night throwing up - his turn with the dreaded lurgy and has just shuffled off to bed in a total state.

No trips put for us today and I shan't be cooking any Easter Sunday dinner either I don't imagine.

tee eek that's a big 'un! well done to your mate.

Ho hum...

heron22 · 12/04/2009 11:19

mrsb poor you, your OH being sick and all, i find that having a sick OH is much harder than having a sick LO!

tee i had the most upsetting dream when i was in 3rd trimester. i dreamt that my OH was actually gay and he confessed to me and i was in tears! then i woke up and found it was all a dream, thank God!

heron22 · 12/04/2009 11:20

having bacon sarnie right now. yum. not helping weight loss!

jeanjeannie · 12/04/2009 13:38

Oh mrsB poor you - first D and now OH. Look, I've got a nice leg of lamb in the oven (with a parmesan and herb crust) we're having it with steamed veg and roast potatoes ...get yer coat - come over.....let the boys fend for themselves!

heron ugh - I hate dreams like that. I kept dreaming that DP left me - and I was on my own with my DD and one on the way - used to wake in blind panic!

Wonder if the spring chicks have bought ladymac any hatchlings? **skips of to check the lamb

mrsboogie · 12/04/2009 14:40

jj I'm on y way! don't s'pose there's any hot cross buns left while you're about it?

re last night's baby book chat this has some funny quotes in

Tee2072 · 12/04/2009 15:47

Man, mrsb you guys just can't catch a break! I hope everyone is feeling better now.

JJ can I come also if I bring some of my honey glazed, slow roasted gammon? PUHLEASE?

I haven't had any 'DH is leaving me dreams' thank god. Just weird ones with weird people in them!!

The weather has turned gorgeous here! And am I going to go out and enjoy it? Nope, I'm gonna go take a long bath instead!!

OP posts:
johnworf · 12/04/2009 16:16

Quick look at that thread link mrsb Are they for real? It reads like something from a Lewis Caroll book

I've got a large piece of beef in the oven and the children keep doing bisto impressions.

Beautiful weather here again. Everyone out in shorts and smells of barbeques

You're not having much luck are you mrsb? Healthy vibes coming to Boogie Towers from me

JJ I'll show you some of my meat if you show me some of yours! Actually, I'm not partaking of the roast dinner that I'm cooking. Far too much fat (the beef is bathed in lard - seriously. think it's a northern delicacy). I'll find something at the back of the fridge

heron22 · 12/04/2009 16:37

hi all, i got so fed being stuck in doors for 3rd day in a row (crap weather) that i chucked it all in,said to DH in dramatic way, i am off to get a pedicure. handed him LO and bottle of expressed milk and said, he is due a feed!

felt better after pedicure. brought home coffee for DH and found him watching sports on telly, DS1 watching dvd, baby left in cot cooing to himself! apparently LO did not take any milk. i wonder if DH tried at all???

now the house is in a state, i am expressing mmilk cos LO is not interested. and it is nearly dinner time! asked DH to tidy up and he is on bed cooing to LO! not sure whether to be cross or just chill

heron22 · 12/04/2009 16:38

rain tomorrow and the rest of the week!

heron22 · 12/04/2009 17:02

bidding on ebay on a bebepod 25 mins to go. i placed a bit of £1 and i am the highest bidder! postage is £6.50.

heron22 · 12/04/2009 17:39

grrrr, lost out on the ebay bid cos i was busy with LO! someone outbid me for £1.20!

jeanjeannie · 12/04/2009 17:45

You go heron bid away, bid away!! I'm watching a play kitchen - with all the matching accessories. Ooooo the frenzied lives we lead Am very of a pedicure. I have to be content with my lovely 'Pedegg' - a glorified dead skin file...

Well ladies - the lamb was gorgeous and I got to use my new pestle and mortar - Oh the joys of smashing up stuff! There are still some Hot cross buns on offer......*hands them round, dripping with luscious butter

jw Hope the beef does indeed provide an 'Ahhh, Bisto' moment. Is it really nice or are you fibbing??! My uncle in Snowdonia said it was simply gorgeous and they'd been up the Llanberis pass - partaken of a beer and gone to the beach... Love N Wales but every time I go it blinkin rains!

Did you find something nice to eat in the back of the fridge? Lard. Oooo I love lard, me.

FIL gone, my ears are ringing from the sonic boom. DP is back digging the garden and the girls are acting up.....ah, Easter

jeanjeannie · 12/04/2009 17:47

awwww heron X-posts... you need stealth tactics....keep that finger on the button!

heron22 · 12/04/2009 19:09

jj ur right, bidding on ebay is just about the most exciting thing i have done in awhile!

i wanted to sign up for ebay text alert on my bids, but they charge 0.12p! forget it!

johnworf · 12/04/2009 20:41

Not fibbing. As they say round these parts, 'it's been cracking the flags today'. That, translated, means it's been so hot that the pavement is cracking. It really has been beautiful and I took K out in the car to do pick ups with no coat or hat on. Kids all arrived in t shirts and shorts. Sorry you southerners but we stole your good weather! Huzzah

Awwww you should have said hello to JRJ from me. He's turning into a bit of a hero in my head

heron you need to sit there until the last few seconds to bag it. That's why you lost out

heron22 · 12/04/2009 20:44

jw tres with your good weather!
grey and depressing here!

Tee2072 · 12/04/2009 21:07

Evening all.

Had a lovely quiet Easter with some baby room organizing and some lovely food!

Weather was good here as well, which was a big surprise. Sorry heron!!

jeanjeannie · 12/04/2009 21:35

HURRAH for the North and getting the good weather - bless K sat in her little seat, no hat or coat enjoying the Al fresco life
Did you all have a fun, family time?

Heron - what part of the country are you....not next door to me are you!?!

Well, the garden has suddenly come on a treat just in the last few hours, you can kinda see it taking shape; such a relief!

Off to DPs mother's tomorrow for a traditional Polish Easter dinner. Oh I can kiss goodbye to any weight loss....I can't stress how yummy Polish Easter food is. I can't resist - they do these pastry bow ties...Favorky (sp) oh, I'm feeling all excited just by the thought of them!!!

johnworf · 12/04/2009 22:03

JJ they all enjoyed the roast beef and yorkshires I cooked, yes. Not me though. I fed K whilst they ate and wished I wasn't eating 'healthy' stuff I certainly didn't have any polish pastry bow ties - although I wish I had.

So, after I'd washed up I ran those that couldn't drive home. I've had a fab time Just ignore me. I love it really

Great that the garden is coming together. Can you imagine yourself sat out there yet with a G&T in a deckchair? If so, even better.

Tee2072 · 13/04/2009 08:54

Good morning all!

Yayayayyayaya! To another day off.

Heading to the shops in a bit to get groceries. Then I'm going to clean the bathrooms and change the beds. I so know how to party.

How can I tell if baby is head down? I still get kicks along my bump, just under my belly button. Does that mean its lying sideways? Anyone know?

OP posts:
johnworf · 13/04/2009 08:59

tee legs are probably bent now at your gestation so guess you'll have to follow the line of them. The position can change so much though as baby still has room to move.

FloriaTosca · 13/04/2009 09:39

Well we are back from a wonderful weekend..Saturday at Chester Zoo was fabulous Alex adored the giraffes and lions most (especially when the male lion roared right at us!!!)oh, and the butterflies. He slept for an hour on our way there but forced himself to stay awake for the rest of the day even though we didnt get to a restaurant until 7.30 and didnt get back to the hotel until 9.00! Sunday morning he spent over an hour in the pool with either dh or I (while the other Sauna/steamroomed/jacuzzi'd) and thoroughly enjoyed himself flirting with all the little girls ......
The only problem is the weekend interrupted our potty training and after a Friday without one single accident in his big boy undies(dry overnight too[yahoo!]) and most of Saturday in one pair of pull-up training nappies, we didnt get to a loo in time late in the afternoon and he realised he wasnt in knickers so Sunday I had 2 wet nappies in the morning and 3 weewee accident in knickers in the hour after getting home !! ..ho hum..back to square one ...

....off now to read up on what has been happening with all of you this weekend...

heron22 · 13/04/2009 09:57

morning all!
jj i am in central london and the weather is crap again! the rest of the week promises heavy rain! where are you in this country? you having rain too?

it is hard to tell if the baby is head down unless you get a scan to check for sure. i say this because when i was preg with DS1, my obgyn says yea he is head down etc, then i had a scan and he was bum down!

about potty training, well, ahem, my DS1 who is nearly 5, still wears night nappies
he just sleeps so so soundly that he does not wake up when he wets himself. when he was 4 i tried to train him. in order for him to be dry in the morning, i would need to "lift" him during the night- twice! once around midnight and then again around 4-5am!

and then i was preg with DS2, so was really tired and could not face getting up twice in the night. and then DS2 was born etc. now i am at a loss what to do? my friend has a daughter who is a deep sleeper and she said that one day her daughter just woke up dry. she woke herself up to go to the loo during the night.
