Strangely, after I wrote that, I got a nice little punch, right under my ribs! So maybe it still has enough room to move around!

floria sounds like a lovely weekend. I am very . Too bad about the potty training, but I'm sure he'll get it again in no time!!

heron Its beautiful today here in Belfast, sorry.

Hi all...happy bank holiday - for those of your workers out there...not us SAH slackers

Floria that sounds like a fab break and worry not about potty training (says she who's not even contemplated it yet!) Summer is coming, that's what I'm planning....life without nappies - moping up wee and poo until it 'clicks'....or not!

jw good to hear it was a nice day - both inside and out of the house!

tee yep, still space to move round - but this is about the time the kicks become more like big movements as the LO gets sort of squashed...until it's funnelled into position!!

heron oh dear - we're exactly 26 miles west of you then...and we're getting some sun - sorry! But it doesn't bode well, as we're meeting friends in london tomorrow - or not as the case may be!

Off to MIL's house for a Polish Easter feast...Oh BRING it ON! I can even begin to describe the yummy treats that await. I tell you - a posh Polish deli would do a roaring trade

heron22 · 13/04/2009 11:56

jj 26 miles and it is sunny where you are! unbelievable! it is not raining now but cloudy...i love perogi, the polish dumpling! yum, have a goodlunch!

johnworf · 13/04/2009 11:57

So envious JJ. Nothing exciting here for me to eat. I'm trying to look out a nice digital photo frame at the mo. Taken all the framed pics I had around the house and put them in the loft to avoid dusting them. I figure if I can get all the pics in one place then the jobs a good 'un! Enjoy the feast and please bring me a doggy bag

Beautiful sunshine here again. heron I'm near to Manchester so I'm way north of you.

floria sounds like a good weekend had by all. We did Chester Zoo a couple of weeks back. K wasn't that bothered about it but DH and DSS loved it! Hope we're still on for meet up this week.

I feel like doing something exciting today but DH is in the office and I'm only going in there to drop off cups of tea. Hoping he'll finish soon enough and praps we'll get in a trip to the park.

Having some problems with DSS's attitude toward DH at the mo. He's got cheeky, but doesn't wash with me and he knows it. Trouble is I hate playing bad cop all the time. Anyway, I've told DH he needs to be firmer with him but I'm not sure he has it in him.... He told DH last night that 'you can't make me go to swimming lessons (tomorrow)'. I've had a little chat with him this morning and as it's not up for discussion, he's just gone upstairs and got his swimming bag ready. Hmm.

Enjoy the sunshine (and food) ladies. Sorry you southerners with the rain. Hope that indoors isn't too bad.

mrsb where for art thou?

Tabitha8 · 13/04/2009 12:12

We've had fab weather all weekend and I've been catching up on the tan that I don't have.
I can't tell which way Little Tab is lying; I just get movement all over the place. The midwife just has to give a quick poke and she is able to tell me where the head and feet are. That's sweet.

Tee2072 · 13/04/2009 12:38

JW Hot Cross Buns finally procured. I will be having one in about 20 minutes, if you'd like to envision the butter dripping down the slightly warm sides.

JJ can I have a doggy bag as well? Ta muchly!

hello all

Have been feeling most grim - think I either had the tummy bug without the more usual symptoms or it's yet to come. OH and I were collapsed on sofa for most of yesterday and poor Mr D was a perfect angel and amused himself in his baby einstein centre. He has now done three all nighters without feeds! although he woke at 5am this morning and we gave him water - he drank it and went back to sleep 'til 7.30!

The Easter roast is still in the fridge and no-one wants it. I have eaten nowt but ginger snaps for two days - so no need of the Xenical jw . Are you still taking them jw or are you just eating as if you were? It occurred to me that I might do that.

tee I always thought that the kicks below the belly button were punches from little fists. D seemed to do less kicking than punching.

heron22 · 13/04/2009 12:50

we are trying to go out to the shops. well, i am trying anyway. LO is all dressed and ready. i am too. but DH and DS1 is still in their PJs, playing in the living room. i am sick of being the one always nagging for them to get a move on!

johnworf · 13/04/2009 13:26

mrsb I do still take them but only with my evening meal. My other two meals don't have enough fat in them to warrant taking them. I'm with GP coming Thursday for weigh in.

Sorry to hear that you've got the dreaded lurgy. Bloody hell. What a month it's been on here for illness. Like you say, if you're on the loo with illness then you won't be needing the pills At least D is ok

I'm off to see one of my male friends this afternoon. Not seen him for over a year so it'll be nice to catch up. He's one of my ex work colleagues (and also an ex b/f) I'm seeing another ex work colleague (the one I'm seeing today, well it's his boss) next week. He's also an ex b/f Ah I remember the days when I had a life!

mrsboogie · 13/04/2009 15:44

I've lost 7lbs

heron22 · 13/04/2009 19:00

mrsb were you dieting to lose this weight? or was it due to the lurgy?

we all had a top afternoon, went to westfield shopping centre and the place was packed! we always have a good time when we go there. bought LO some absolutely gorgeous little outfits. DS1 got a puzzle and a mag. i am on the lookout for ballet pumps for spring/summer. i hope this warmer weathe is a predictor of the summer to come!

LO crying now cos he is so tired! and DS1 room is a bombsite. lots of tidying up to do before bedtime!

johnworf · 13/04/2009 20:10

Woo Hoo mrsb! Fantastic! Marvellous! Very impressed too

Tee2072 · 13/04/2009 20:21

Good on you mrsb!

Sounds like a good day heron. Too bad you need to tidy now.

teetoo right and DH took off for a bike ride the minute we got home. so i was left to deal with it all!

DS1 still up, having seconds for dinner. i am still expressingmilk. it is a late one tonight!

mrsboogie · 13/04/2009 20:46

aye dieting heron the same one as jw ably assisted by the lurgy...

am v envious of your day out - I haven't been out for days...

Stormfly · 13/04/2009 21:25

Hi Heron. My DS was still in nappies at night at four and slept so deeply that lifting didn't work at all, he was too asleep to wee! I think I stopped the nappies just before he was five but the bed was wet in the morning for the next two or three months. Not the best early morning chore esp. as he always woke at 5.30 sharp. Was dry after that though. (I sometimes wondered if he could last till 5am then weed and woke up but I never set the alarm for 4.30 to test this thesis).

This is not advice on how to do it though as I'm sure there are probably much better ways of resolving it which I couldn't think of at the time!

BonzoDoodah · 13/04/2009 21:46

Happy Easter all of you. We had chocolate for breakfast yesterday and had a Weatherspoons greasy fry-up for breakfast today. So guess who's not counting calories at the moment

heron my neice was wetting the bed and wearing night-nappies until about 7 - aa real worry as she was starting to have sleep-overs at her cousin's house. My sister then took her to the Doctor and a specialist and they gave her a kind of alarm that beeped when wet and I think made her drink more at bedtime rather than less. Within about a week she was dry. It was amazing.

MrsB you poor thing all of you sick on the holiday. Hope you feel better soon.

We've all had glorious weather here and been in the garden the whole weekend. Building a retaining wall for espaliered (flat) fruit trees against the back fence and digging a massive trench so we can have our lead pipes removed. Aching now. Maybe I shouldn't have shovelled so hard but it was fun. Bump seems okay and M loved helping - namely sitting down in the hole we'd dug for the next boulder to go in. Harumph.

iris66 · 13/04/2009 21:57

Hi all - fabby weather here for the last few days but rain's forecast for the rest of the week (so not all the west has been pants -and I'm even more southerly than you lot!)

mrsb - you lot really have had it bad haven't you! Hope D sleeps again tonight to give you some rest.

heron - I was a very heavy sleeper and used to actually dream that I was getting up and going to the loo until I was about 9 (until I felt that warm, wet feeling ) My biggest memory is my mum saying "you dirty girl" every time I had an accident - which made me feel utterly awful (nd gave me a deep seated belief that I was actually dirty for many years). I think it can run in families too so I don't bother worrying about DS at night, even though DD was dry at night within days of being dry during the day. FWIW I later learnt that there is a condition called "spastic bladder" where the nerves don't connect properly and so the impulse to let you know you want to wee short circuits to the reflex to release urine. It can take years for it to right itself apparently andneeds conscious effort.

"Tee" - even though I'm on my 4th I still can't tell which bit is sticking out. I keep asking my mw which bit is which but still can't tell a head from a bum or an elbow from a heel . As long as it doesn't try to come out bum first I'll be happy

welcome "nowtlikelife" I'm due in June but have a 20yr old DD. Like your nom de plume by the way.

"jeanjeanie" - just noticed your post where you said you didn't lose your boobs bf!!! I went from 36DD pre DS1 (38G when pg) to 34C(just - but only if I rolled them right )after DS2. I bf both for around 12 mths and lost masses everywhere. I went from 14/16 tops & 12 bottoms to 12/14 tops and 8/10 bottoms but with no shape. I'm seriously hoping I retain some weight this time as I was so miserable being scrawny (sunken face/no arse/saggy boobs/no shape yuk! - but people still said "ooh you look great" bollocks did I!!!)

Tabitha - didn't realise ther were so mny of us on the thread due so closely Hope you're enjoying your pregnancy

DH's birthday today so been baking with DS1 (wheat/dairy/egg (and, ergo, flavour) free fairycakes and biscuits) thought I was being clever using squished blackberries to colour the icing as he's E-number intolerant(blackberries make it a fab barbie pink btw) but having DS helping means we now have serious purple stains on everything. No matter though, we had a lovely family tea party in the garden with obligatory jelly to feed the ants. Both boys utterly pooped and bathed & in bed in record time (helped by DD - what an angel - and a treat for the boys) DH chilled out with beer and decreed the day "very nice" (praise indeed!! )

Stormfly · 13/04/2009 21:59

Happy Easter Bonzo. Those fruit trees always look stunning in the gardening books so that will be a day well spent. You will have worked off all the chocolate/fry-up too, of course.

iris66 · 13/04/2009 22:04

heron - just remembered that a friend (HV - but a good one) mentioned that only once you get at leat 4 dry morning nappies out of 7 (whether lifting/reducing drinks etc)is it worth going nappy free and that she's known 7/8 yr olds unable to go through the night.

heron22 · 14/04/2009 09:00

iris oh that was bad to be called that. i am sorry to hear that . i have not said anything negative to DS1 about it.

bonzo stormfly i am not sure what to do with DS1 about being dry at night. for now, we will continue with night nappies.

mrsb congrats with the weight loss! are and jw taking anything to aid weight loss?
i had a lovely cheesecake slice yesterday! will have a light day today - in terms of food

it is nice and sunny today! i think the rain is not going to come! YAY!

DH has day off today. DS1 is at nursery. we are going to take LO for his first swim
he starts swim lessons next week. those mother baby classes.

heron22 · 14/04/2009 09:01

iris from what you have said, i will continue DS1 on night nappies. no need to stress the whole family out.

ladymac · 14/04/2009 09:43

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT

I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Saturday morning at 5.55am. She was born at home as planned after a 3 hour labour, weighing 8lb 9 and a half oz. Woke DH up at 4am and got him to wire me up to the TENS machine then we called the midwife and also DD1 who was coming to look after Grace and Elizabeth. Everything after that happened quite quickly, although the pushing was a bit tricky as she had the cord round her neck and under her arm, which was pulling her shoulder up at a funny angle. Luckily that only caused me a slight graze with no stitches needed.

Her full name is Emmeline Dorothea Lettice.

Midwife coming shortly so must jump in the shower. Hope to catch up properly soon.

FloriaTosca · 14/04/2009 09:48

CONGRATULATIONS LADYMAC!!!!!
