Hello I'm here! *waves

Phew, that was a close one - we even talked ourselves to a full stop

I'm feeling cock-a-hoop today as Iris was a star at nursery and ate every single little morsel of food - including gravy AND,,,,AND (wait for it)........asked for MORE!!! See, I knew that starving her would work No, no, not really...should any of you be social workers or something of that ilk!

jj beat you on the thread.....[sticks out tongue like Katherine emoticon]

sissy oh Colarado - how fab - that's on my list of place to drool over and visit one day.

Friday night in - no takeaway - no goodies - no sweeties - nowt on telly - eeeeee, that's just grand

jeanjeannie · 03/04/2009 18:19

jw even..... Not jj cos that's me. Oh dear, looks like I'm talking to myself....

It's these darn bunny ear

peachyfox · 03/04/2009 18:33

Wow JJ must feel so great when baby's all full of dinner - guess I have that to come

I think I just felt the baby flutter again, so I can stop panicking for a while

DP and I have just had some unpleasantness. It involved a game of scrabble, the decking on the terrace and a rather clumsy movement on my part. We are now short of an H. I've handed him the screwdriver we use for pulling up the slats so it's not as if I'm not being helpful.

I won btw

JW did you get a photo of Katherine's tongue?

mrsboogie · 03/04/2009 19:34

I posted last on the other thread but since no -one will see it I will say again on here that I put up a couple of pics of my little man on the swings today

jj that's good re Iris eating her dinner at nursery. D did exactly the same on Weds -I have been providing jars of puréed fruit for them to give him but this week I said he could have what the other kids were having so long as it was only fruit and veg. They said they wd give him veggie cottage pie and I said ok but don't worry he probably won't eat it. Well he ate a full bowl of it! They were stunned as was I. Won't eat any of my lovingly home prepared sweet pots or anything like that...

jeanjeannie · 03/04/2009 19:42

Just seen what the new arrival of St Jamie of the Olivers is called. Well, considering they have a Poppy & a Daisy I was so hoping it wouldn't be an Iris - but no - they've out-flowered me with Petal, Blossom, Rainbow................ Hey ho - each to their own.

mrsB talk to me about D............... He's like a proper BOY...I mean, like a walking talking, grown up BOY. I just want to grab him and swing him round - fabulous pics!!!

peachy Good to see that babyP is a kicking. Life without a 'H' could make difficult!

mrsboogie · 03/04/2009 20:08

ah jj it's the hair - makes him look older than he is - I love his hair.

peachy meant to say - not feeling anything isn't a worry at your stage as they are so small and if they are facing the wrong way you won't feel anything.

hedgepig · 03/04/2009 20:09

Mrsb all babies seem to eat better when you haven't sweated blood and tears to make it. The things B would eat a nursery but not at home were amazing.

haven't been around for a while I'm feeling a bit glum at the moment, so I have upped the chocolate intake to see if that helps . Off to read the old thread to see what has been going on, I may be a while.....

johnworf · 03/04/2009 20:37

I've already posted this thread in 'childbirth' section. OOh and I was the first too.

Drat. Double drat.

Tee2072 · 03/04/2009 20:42

Sorry JW! But hasn't it always been in pregnancy?

I just informed my husband that there had been times when I forgot I was pregnant. Not any more!

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 03/04/2009 20:52

Oh dear jw ...........not preggie are you? You know how pregnacy can send you loopy!

hedgepig aww...bless you....I'm sorry that you're glum Chocolate will help and I've got some bananas and cream here....please help yourself x

mrsboogie · 03/04/2009 21:10

hedgepig I have been wondering where you were - hope the gloom lifts soon... you should probably have one of those ostrich eggs from hotel chocolate - that'll see you right .

just gave Mr D a couple of chunky chips - first one went down grand - second one he gagged on most dramatically and threw up all the milk he'd drunk earlier. He was right as rain after but we were eeeeeek

Tee2072 · 03/04/2009 21:16

Yikes mrsb!! Glad he's okay.

hedgepig I agree with mrsb one of those giant easter eggs will do the trick!

OP posts:
hedgepig · 03/04/2009 21:24

MrsB I hope it lift soon, I'm just a little worried it may be delayed PND (if there is such a thing) I feel just like I did with Ben but 6 months delayed. Anyway got out today and had a chat so I feel better for that.

I think the most important debate I have missed it the sanitary towels vs maxi pads. I bought a selection of both Tee and mix and matched. When I needed more I just gave DH the empty packet and off he went to get more. I did use moat of my maternity pads after my waters went with a woosh because it just keeps coming until you have the baby, I was not expecting that at all.

JJ boo about the new neighbours hopefully they wont stay very long and the housing association will find them a more suitable place with NO roads near by

jeanjeannie · 03/04/2009 21:46

hedgepig I've never had PND but I have to say that I've had very down periods since having two LOs. For me it's been a really dramatic difference from having one - there is no let-up. I've really struggled, especially lately as we've not been getting out as much as I'd like and the effort involved seems to be overwhelming. I'm sure tiredness really doesn't help when you've got two.

And, I'm ashamed to say, I have needlessly wanted to smack really rather nice ladies around the head with a rubber chicken when they smile and say - "oh no, I find having another DC barely noticable...little Tommy just fits in around our routine"......

Fingers crossed it's not belated PND and that plenty of choccy and good conversation will lift you up x

mrsB hahaha, CHIPS!! Battered sausage next for D me thinks

mrsboogie · 03/04/2009 21:57

From what I understand hedgepig PND can appear at any time up to six months (or even after that) - might be worth a chat with your GP if you don't feel better soon.

aye jj we were having fri night fish and chips so I thought D should join in as he looked interested... no more chips 'til he's 15 methinks.

FloriaTosca · 03/04/2009 23:24

Hi ..just posting to find you all...been to Ils for dinner and now utterly shattered despite last nights 8hrs sleep...I'll come and chat tomorrow..g'dnight and sweet dreams all!

johnworf · 04/04/2009 07:34

Morning all. Can't believe I missed posting this thread. I've been on here since it's conception and still not managed to start a new thread (unless you count my defunkt one!) Bugger and bum.

JJ and hedgepig my first PND was mild and diagnosed when DD#1 was 10 months old. And it wasn't the crying, wailing of despair that the second time around was. Keep an eye on that one and don't let it get a hold.

I meant to say mrsb that the pics of D on Facebook are superb. He's a heartbreaker without doubt. And yes, all that hair really does add 'month's' to him! Awww. He should have a bubble coming out of his mouth saying 'push me faster mummy!!!!!!!!!!'

floria you get out and about more than any of us on this thread (well most of us) even if it is to the IL's. They count as a night out in my book especially if you're being fed too. Hopefully A has gone for an encore last night.

Got some of my things onto Ebay last night but still has lots to sort out, photo and auction. My get up and go has got up and gone

Tee2072 · 04/04/2009 08:47

Good morning.

Sorry JW! You can start the next one.

Horrible rainy day here. Off to the shops in a bit. Time to start getting some baby stuff in the house.

Everyone have a nice day.

OP posts:
hedgepig · 04/04/2009 09:05

it's raining here too Tee, and I'm going for a bike ride yukkkkk. Enjoy the shopping.

JW that is interesting about your PND, I will keep and eye on things and will be off the the GP soon if I don't get some get up and go.

jeanjeannie · 04/04/2009 09:30

Morning folks - sun is just coming out...but it's weak and feeble....much like many of our moods on here at the moment

Got a full night's sleep and feel perkier but still knackered.

hedgepig good girl - endorphines are the thing to be pumping round your body and I'm quite (strangely) of your impending bike ride, even in the rain!

floria yes, you are indeed our out & about queeen. You may be asked to start a 40+ column about 'Life on the Outside'

Well, we are indeed a cheery bunch today....
jw I'm sure your get-up-and-go will reappear...it's probably lost down the back of the sofa. We're all off to visit a nice couple with a baby round the corner...I met her through preggie yoga. They're arty and lively (he directs BBC soaps)which makes a change from the terrible nice but humourless people we keep meeting. She's just started selling Usbourne books - so they're having a sale....with wine AND CAKE!!! CAKE!!

Oh I've not done a good CAKE!! for ages. Today's cake is a light sponge coffee and walnut with butter icing and sprinkles. Help yourself - it's calorie/sugar/fat-free. I thank you

jeanjeannie · 04/04/2009 09:33

I meant 'terribly nice' - not 'terrible nice' - cos that would be wrong....terrible AND nice Damm and blast these bunny ears....they're interfering with my brainwaves...

johnworf · 04/04/2009 09:34

That's very gracious of you tee. Thanks.

hedgepig I'm not saying that you have PND but tbh, the first time around I didn't even know I had it. It was only when I started crying when I finally went to the GP that I thought 'hello what's going on here?' Before that I just thought I was under the weather and feeling low. Plus, all your hormones are still higgledy piggledy for 6 months or so, so it's really hard to tell I think. Btw your HV should have done a PND questionnaire on you but not sure if this is down to local HCT's policy. If she hasn't then have a chat with her and tell her about your feelings. They're usually quite informed and understanding on these matters. It was my HV who referred me first time around.

I'm off to Ikea with DH and K this morning. I don't actually want anything but I might see things for DD#1's new flat.

No rain here but it has been during the night. I've got 3 horses in the grand national today with very long odds but last year I won and I'm hoping this year will be a repeat. Don't normally gamble apart from this once a year and even then, I only pick them for their names

Petal for a name??? Bah! Pants IMHO. They've got a whole garden going on now in the St Jamie of the Oliver household. Wonder if it'd been a boy they'd have called it Spade, Hoe or Hover Mower?

johnworf · 04/04/2009 09:37

haha @ terrible AND nice! Fab combo.

Not baked a cake in months. Why would I when I can't even eat the blinkin' thing?

Good news though that I've done a midweek weigh in and I've lost another 3 pounds! I'm only 12 lbs out of my 'normal' BMI now. Fantastic. I'm thinking I would like another 21 pounds to come off before I'll stop though.

Tee2072 · 04/04/2009 09:41

JW that's great! I am amazed by your willpower.

LOL at Spade, Hoe and Hover Mower!!

Cake? Okay!! I'm on so much insulin at this point, just to stay in range while eating normally, I'm actually able to splash out on occasion!

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 04/04/2009 12:38

afternoon all

Thanks jw for the compliments to my little man and OMG re the weight - how fantastic is that? I am starting on the Xenical on Monday - I hope I can do half as well!

hmmm...cake I have lots of cake making stuff - perhaps I will make a cake today.

D has another cold. Apart from that all is well chez Boogie. Am v much looking forward to the long Easter weekend. Work really picked up several gears last week so no more easy street for me.

jj enjoy your get together - I must say I can't picture the area where you live at all - sounds like a rather incongruous cross between Shameless and Hampstead!
