Did you regret finding out the gender from your scan?

I am expecting DC5 and have never known the gender before birth. I've been offered a 20 wk scan this time though and I'm really tempted. My excuse is it has implications for bedrooms and whether we'll need to move house (although not urgently I admit).

I'll be going alone and I know DH doesn't want to know. We've both said in the past it's like opening your presents before Christmas!

Did you find out and regret it or am I being daft?!

oh sorry didn't mean to

(there's always Babyscanning in Glasgow £75 for gender scan ) we had to pay for our second scan as I was "lucky" to have a threatened mc at 13 weeks so that was my one and only scan usually here you get one at 15 weeks and thats that, no sex either.

Hmm, that would be taking it too far for me, I reckon. Only 19 weeks to go...

Oh and I found out at 12 weeks with my last 2 at a private scan in London, amazing professor that pioneered 4d scans in this country. I loved knowing before I really had a bump.

I found out with both of mine. No regrets at all in fact both times it made him (I have 2 ds's) seem more real.

I do think however that people fall fairly strongly into one of 2 camps - the opening presents before christmas like you or the why on earth would you not like me. I don't know anyone who has regretted it but if you instonctively feel its like opening pressies early you may well be disappointed to know.

I don't know how you think it will be that easy to keep things from your dh though - if you are finding out for practical reasons as you say in op (sorry not read rest of thread) then he will at least guess won't he? A friend did this - her dh found out and she didn't and she really didn't like the fact that he knew and she didn't and within 24 hours had asked him!

So I think I would say either you both find out or you don't.

Having said that clearly its up to you - good luck!

we found out at the 20 week scan as had a difficult pregnancy and decided if we made it that far we would ask. i thought it was a boy and turned out to be correct. he became our son from that moment with ther name we had chosen given to him in the scanning room. out of my 4 preg friends we were the only ones to find out and loved referring to 'him' even though only immediate family knew his name. def do it again.
