Yet ANOTHER thread. Like it says - those of you who've waved bye bye to 39 come and say Hi to us instead.

We think that 40 is the new 20, cyber cake is the new weight-watchers and older mums rock

So, if you fit that description come and play with us. We like cake, gossip an occasional luke warm debate and a good moan! Oh and we're also very friendly and supportive!

OK everyone.....take it away x

mrsb suggested M&S for pyjamas so I've have been perusing the website and was wondering if these would be perfect for the first few days after giving birth when I'm wearing a very big sanitary towel

ladymac · 02/03/2009 21:37

jw I suppose I'm confusing him with every character I've ever seen him play!

mrsboogie · 02/03/2009 21:51

haha ladymac those jammies could accommodate a slithering placenta no bother

speaking of placentas mine has to be the worst behaving one - it wouldn't come out after the injection and the young female doctor just shoved her arm right up there and wrestled it out. Good job I'd had a spinal block. I must be insane but was talking to OH last night about doing it again. Not having a stubborn placenta manually removed I hasten to add - getting up the duff. Must shift this weight first though.

My childless sister is off to some fancy hotel in the middle of a vineyard on some lovely hilltop by Lake Garda soon am but wouldn't swap places with her!

jeanjeannie · 02/03/2009 21:51

ladymac WHAT on EARTH of those pants? They are utterly bizzare. Oh, I'd SO love to see DP's face if I rocked up to bed in those!

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 02/03/2009 21:52

oh and you are very naughty

Asos here I come....

ladymac · 02/03/2009 21:58

You could keep all sorts of goodies down there, couldn't you. You wouldn't need a baby changing bag, you could just keep the nappies and wipes in your giant gusset!

mrsb please have another baby. Go on, you know you want to

johnworf · 02/03/2009 22:02

hahahaha @ those pants! MC Hammer can't touch YOU!

I think those might be just the job if I ever have a bum malfunction

Sorry mrsb but think of the clothes as investments for the next one!

jeanjeannie · 02/03/2009 22:03

Oh mrsB go on, go on, go on....now, now, now!
Just think you can put all those clothes to use - AGAIN. OK, so it may be a girl, but girls can carry blue so well! PLUS - and it's a big plus....there's a reason for you to buy those lovely harem pants

ladymac how about the university challenge scandal eh Just as well your DS didn't go to Corpus and win.....or not as the case may be! Trimble must be gutted.

mrsboogie · 02/03/2009 22:05

they are in at the moment harem pants, that's a fashion statement that I won't be making!

I think I want to ladymac although we cannot afford it.

johnworf · 02/03/2009 22:05

ladymac what sort of goodies are you thinking of keeping in your jammy pants?

They'd be good to wear on a picnic. You could keep all the sausage rolls in them and they'd be warm when you came to eat them ........just had mental image overload

johnworf · 02/03/2009 22:07

DM webshite says that jade Goody has 2-4 weeks left although she might not get through this weekend as she's so ill

mrsboogie · 02/03/2009 22:07

I like these stripey pants not so keen on the t-shirt tho

jeanjeannie · 02/03/2009 22:07

Hahahah jw I was going to mention your bum and a possible malfunction in relation to those glorious pants but thought better of it!!

Even in my full on fashion editor mode, they'd render me speechless. Just like when I decided to give up writing about clothes....I saw 'Zac Posen's Mink Playsuit' and I thought......er...NO! I put down pen and pad and quietly left the show

OP posts:
johnworf · 02/03/2009 22:08

A mink playsuit huh? What's one of those? Sounds like a porn characters name.

jeanjeannie · 02/03/2009 22:09

mrsB that little boy looks a bit like Verity LOVE the pants

OP posts:
johnworf · 02/03/2009 22:10

I've just sold some Toby Tiger stuff and it washes luvverly

johnworf · 02/03/2009 22:11

JJ if that was verity the pic would fill my laptop screen!

jeanjeannie · 02/03/2009 22:11

jw it was a mink 1970s style shorts with attached bib and braces. This was a summer collection....can you imagine... full on fur round your gussett in the sun? Nice

OP posts:
jeanjeannie · 02/03/2009 22:13

mrsboogie · 02/03/2009 22:17

poor old Jade - she can't have long at all

speaking of fashion nonsense poor Michelle O is getting slated for those fab photos of her wearing a sleeveless dress - she looks fantastic - love the green dress on the DM website

It never occurs to me to look on ebay for clothes jw -it's only on your advice that I have been going there for baby gyms etc.

johnworf · 02/03/2009 22:17

mrsb I have a code for 20% off ASOS stuff too....Yes, I'm very bad. Slaps own wrist.

It's ASOSLOOK

I very much like this but cannot justify the price even with the code.

mrsboogie · 02/03/2009 22:24

aw that is lovely jw

looked on ebay - they have some stuff but not much cheaper! although I only look at buy it now as I can't be faffed with the bidding malarky

Kaz1967 · 02/03/2009 22:25

johnworf my birth plan covered what ifs that was something the blooming birth book looks at and I was aware of anyway working where I did for 12 years

johnworf · 03/03/2009 07:45

Ok, weighed myself. cue drum roll

6lb loss.

I'm more than happy with that for first week. Don't expect anywhere near that for subsequent weeks though.

Tee2072 · 03/03/2009 08:04

First of all, who has decided that all the bad fashion from my high school years should come back? Harem pants were huge when I was about 15 or 16 years old in the States!

JW 6 lbs? Awesome! Good job. I guess that stuff works.

Very cute stripey pants mrsb but I agree about the shirt.

Off to OB and Endo today. Another 4 hours sitting around the clinic with 10 minutes with each. Ho hum. At least I get to leave work early.
