Come join our merry (talkative) band of ladies who lunch - feel sick - are getting fatter - sleep deprived or run off their feet with babies! Some of us suffer all of the above - while trying to retain an air of calm and mystery

All we ask is you play nicely, eat cake and indulge in the occasional gossip and moan about our ills....or anything else that we can think of.

We're like grumpy old women....only not so grumpy...

Fashion, beauty and hair JJ I'd better not let my 2 older girls see that, they'll be logging on when I'm not about asking a million questions

MUM41plus5 · 11/02/2009 13:20

I've seen that kind of face before, funny, they know what they like and don't like, I think I make the mistake of thinking that they will automactically have the same tastes as me, how wrong I very often am

jeanjeannie · 11/02/2009 13:46

ermintrude apparently no tongues but she did get to see him in his undies....and yes they were grey.....jockeys Ah, you can't make this nonsense up! neddie do men in the horsey world tend to favour the jockey-style pant?!! BTW I hope foot is feeling better x

jw I'm just giving up with Verity - she pretty much dislikes everything - except BOOBIES!! I find myself prizing the spoon into her mouth until her top lip curls in an Elvis-style and then her mouth opens!

Ah mum41 sadly to look at me now you'd never know I used to be glamorous. Each year was defined by the catwalk shows and I'd have my London, Paris, New York, Milan outfits...ahhhh, heady days. And then one morning I woke up and though - gawd, how dull. I hit the point where I thought ..."I've been doing this or 10 years and those models are young enough to be my daughters!" All I know now is that batwing sleeves aint a good look whatever age and leggings should only be worn in the gym

JJ yes they do because otherwise their knackers bang on the pommel of the saddle (Front bit). I used to be a riding instructor in my yoof and advised all men to wear speedos so they kept their nuts clustered so to speak.
Frankie Dettori lucky lady!! If I weren't so sick makingly loved up...then yes a quick roll in the hay with him any day and or Richard Hammond.

Neddie · 11/02/2009 14:43

Thanks about the foot. I bravely bandaged my foot up like some hero plugging up his war wounds in Nam, stuck DP's wellie on that foot and my own on the other (I did scream a bit as I pushed it in)and then drove to work for 3 hours. My mum's coming to look after me a bit for a few days till DP gets home at the weekend.I thought he was going to cry when I told him I'd had an accident he was so upset. I told DX and he didn't even say "oh you poor thing"- another James Martin I think- only Irish.

jeanjeannie · 11/02/2009 15:02

neddie I just looked at your profile pics - you've very glamorous cute kiddie pics too! Is that perchance 'The German'?.....if it is...well done you !!!!!!

johnworf · 11/02/2009 15:34

Yes indeed neddie. He looks very typically Aryan

mum41 K manages to purse her lips so tightly together yet at the same time, raspberry out any remaining muck from her mouth. Tis a good trick without doubt.

Just had a very Carry On moment with DH. Won't give too much away but it involved a promised quickie, the window cleaner (actually cleaning the window), dog barking and a squawking baby I'm saving all of these hilarious moments for my book that I'm not yet writing.

Has anyone yet seen Salma Hayek b'feeding the strangers baby? Okkkkkkkkk. SEe that Noah has been used by Chris Evans for his baby. Bit too biblical for my liking though. Might as well call it Jesus or Moses...oh, already been done!

Tabitha8 · 11/02/2009 15:37

Has anyone remembered to book the sunshine for this summer? Enjoying all the gossip by the way. Does anyone else fancy Yul Brynner? (Probably not as he might look now - he's been dead for over 20 years). If I were even older than I am, I'd like to have had his babies.

johnworf · 11/02/2009 15:50

tabitha I can see the attraction. It's the shiny, bald head syndrome

Tabitha8 · 11/02/2009 15:53

I loved his walk and his voice. If I'd had his babies, would they have been bald?

jeanjeannie · 11/02/2009 15:54

NOt sure about Noah - I quite like it - I think! And I see Sophie Ellis Bexter has had her second LO - again 9 weeks early - poor thing. Oddly he's called Kit Valentine and I actually know someone called that!!

tabitha Cheers for reminding me - I'll get on the phone! Although my mate across the road - she's an environmental lawyer and reckons it's gonna be a scorcher....and she predicted the snow back in Sept!

Yul Brynner....PHWOAR! Good lord yes, he'd be my ghost shag

'ow do all

Well we have just been for a nice brisk walk with Mr D in his yummy new orange giraffe suit and socks from the Nordic kids website (cheers jw). While out and about we purchased some Aptamil follow on milk (2 weeks shy of six months but needs must) and Mr D is currently digesting his first bottle of it. Fingers crossed it will result in blissful long hours of kip for all concerned...Aptamil don't do a stage 2 milk which confused me a bit jw.

Follow on milk, cute clothes websites - I'd be lost without you guys!!

jj Ooooh fashion and beauty eh? right, I'll start work on my list of questions.

neddie yes, well done on the German - he looks well fit innit much better than an Irishman (wouldn't, ever again)

Speaking of James Martin I saw one of ladymacs male lesbians, - was served by him in Marks (where I was ahem buying some muffins ), mind you he had bouffant back combed hair, very shaped eyebrows and there was a very definite suspicion of foundation or tinted moisturiser - a combination which would probably make any man look like a lesbian.

btw ladymac I hope you are pleased with yourself because you have now ruined James Martin for me, ruined him totally!

mrsboogie · 11/02/2009 16:01

not Yul Brinner but definitely Patrick Stewart - that voice

\quivers

I like Noah because it reminds me of Noah Wylie, the yummy doctor Carter for ER although more the character of Carter than the actor.

Selma - big show off if you ask me - ok if she didn't do it in front of cameras.

Eek the state of Mischa Barton - she looks like she is dying.

Tee2072 · 11/02/2009 16:02

JW Selma feeding that baby has caused much controversy all over the web. Honestly, though, is it any different than a wet nurse, which are apparently used quite a bit in Africa. At least she is trying to help.

Yul Brenner not so much for me. Patrick Stewart on the bald front...hubba!

mrsboogie · 11/02/2009 16:04

hah tee we same to have the same taste in fantasy shags!

johnworf · 11/02/2009 17:43

Oh yes, Jean Luc Picard anytime. Although it's his voice that does it for me. I wonder what happened to his Sheffield twang?

K has just had some sweet potato and chicken orange muck which she liked...so much that it's in her hair and DH has just picked some out of her eyebrow. Big orange chin...this ones a winner

I had a bonus today, talking of baby clothes. I ordered a bonnet from Peace & Jam and they sent two - obviously a mistake. Woot to me

Here's hoping for you tonight mrsb. That milk should sort him out. He's obviously not satisfied on the first stage stuff. I think there is whey in the second stage stuff which stays in their tummy longer (harder to digest?). K's been on the second stage stuff for months but probably completely different rules for Nutriprem.

johnworf · 11/02/2009 18:02

Blimey it's babies galore on DM website. Carla from corrie has sprogged today - a girl. Along with chris evans. And Rebecca Loos is up the duff and of course as JJ said before, S ellis bextor has had hers early. Phew!

Neddie · 11/02/2009 18:21

Aww.I'm glad u like my German/Swedish bloke. I am not at all glamorous (glad you think so), though I have moisurised since 16 and don't have many lines ( I think that's Spanish genes as well) May I recommend a weekly dose of bio oil, I have dermatitis and psoraisis (I can't spell it though)and a little bit in the bath helps keep everything supple. Lots of sprogs! Yes I saw Sophie E-B, 9 weeks early-poor thing. Yes Jean Luc Picard's voice boldly goes......
I think Noah is ok. I am looking at Oskar and Isak (Swedish spelling)if they are boys and Cerys and Annalise if they are girls.I already used my girls names up with Tara and Philippa with the first 2.

johnworf · 11/02/2009 19:09

neddie I wanted Philipa for Katherine but we've a weird surname of Stell so that'd make her Pippa Stell which aint good....almost batty. Like your swedish spellings. I would have liked Anders or Nils for a boy but as I have no swedish/Norwegian/Danish connections it'd be silly. Anyway, it's moot now

I use bio oil lots. It's cheap for a huge bottle from the mecca of all things cheap - Costco I use it on my face too but usually before bed as the greasy look isn't a good one for day time. Coupled with the 8 hour cream I use on my nose - vile smell - I'm not really to be around. All I need are some curlers in my hair and the look is complete.

Yeah SEB had another one early. Think her first was a 29 weeker. Used to sound very scary in my previous life and now I think 'wow, a big one'! It's all relative I guess.

Neddie · 11/02/2009 19:15

Johnwort I love your pics and what a cutie(s)- I must admit having had 2 thumpers I wonder whether I will break one of my twins as I'm sure they'll be very tiny.

mrsboogie · 11/02/2009 19:23

yes, like the names/spellings neddie

I think Pippa Stell sounds ace jw but she would have to grow up to be a Chiropterologist.

Me and OH are so beat we are talking about going to bed. Now. I never went to bed early even once while pregnant but we are so eye bleedingly, head poundingly, leg wobblingly tired we can't face staying up a minute longer.

zzzzz

jeanjeannie · 11/02/2009 20:52

Evening all. Have doused the kids in an oat bath and even got in a shower myself!

jw I just re-read your post from a while back - sounds like you could always write a nice bedroom farce ...maybe co-staring the Chuckle Brothers

neddie love the names you've lined up....adore Scandinavian names. Big fan of Lars for a boy....but having a last name starting with L wiped out any names like that as DP hates illiteration!

Night, Night mrsB sleep tight. I really know how you feel

OMG - I.m watching Location, Loc, Loc and they're in Chiswick....AHHHHhhhhh, HOW MUCH! I'm weeping for my flat circa 1993.....when did it get that expensive? It's not that great

OP posts:
johnworf · 11/02/2009 22:32

mrsb hope that you have a good one tonight. By the time you read this it'll be morning so you can report back.

Eugh @ chuckle brothers appearing in a bedroom farce. That's far too surreal even for me.

Virgin + Loc Loc Loc and will look forward to it tomorrow (when times allows to watch).

At the hospital for jab lunchtime tomorrow and then audiology in the afternoon. Will the fun never end?

Night all xxx

BonzoDoodah · 11/02/2009 23:33

mrsboogie about getting MrD to sleep through the night. Don?t stress - my sprog didn?t do it until about 7 months (she was exclusively bf til 6months). Two nights before she went into her own room she slept through all by herself. If it had been 2 after we?d have said it was that - but she must just have been ready for it. Otherwise I think the idea is to let them wait a bit for the feed and then stretch it and stretch it. But I never could do that (too soft). (Oh and when I say ?slept through? I mean from midnight til about 7 or 8 - I was still waking her when I went to bed for a last feed - seemed easier than being woken) (and PMSL at the pig-wrestling comment)

jj gaydar doesn?t go off when the Greek Island Chef is seen on TV but the Tw@t not nice man one does.

Neddie - bloody Ouch! Literally!

jw did love your trees pic but the thread moved so fast ?.
