Sorry to bother again.

Im getting pains in my lower stomach and back that feel like im in labour but im only 23 weeks pregnant. I didnt have this with my first baby and im scared. I dont think i am in labour but thats the only way i could think to describe the pains. It's not constant, just on and off but when it happens its so painful.

i think people might just be a bit annoyed if they feel they have been giving advice to someone who is having a laugh at their expense. Apologies if this is not the case but it does sometimes happen

MummyToLeon · 04/01/2009 18:11

Thank you candlequeen! How is your DS doing? x

Baby i can understand that, and i can also see why there is so much confusion as i was very mixed up with my current pregnancy dates at the beginning.

My DS was born at the beginning of July, i fell pregnant at the end of july when he was 4 weeks old. Leon is now 27 weeks old, making me 23 weeks pregnant. Does that make sense? Sorry if i have upset anybody but i can honestly say i am genuine and if you dont believe that then i suppose its your choice but i do like this site and all the advice given.

SHS - we are due the same day aren't we? the 27th? I remember us both being 20 weeks at the time when MummytoLeon said she was 16 weeks (after your scan MTL) but they must have adjusted your dates now...

SHS - did you find out if you are having a boy or girl?

Picante · 04/01/2009 18:18

Pregnancy weeks are based on the first day of your period, not when you conceived.

TWINSETinapeartree · 04/01/2009 18:22

I was always getting my pregnancy dates wrong, as long as you know when you are going to drop and when appointments are I would not worry

llareggub · 04/01/2009 18:22

Well, yes, I suppose so Picante, until the 12 week scan gives a different due date! By my LMP I'm 24 weeks. By my scan date I'm 22 weeks, which I find very difficult to believe!

MummyToLeon · 04/01/2009 18:31

Im going to get baby ready for bed now then have a bath. I'll be back on later. Thanks for your help xx

It's something that has always confused me. How can they say the baby is 12 weeks old.. when 12 weeks ago, my period had just started, I hadn't ovulated yet.. and definately hadn't had sex I don't think the LMP dating is accurate at all. Fail to see how medical professionals can still think it's okay to date you from a time when they know it's almost impossible for you to get pregnant.

I'm sure there's a rational reason, if so, someone enlighten me

SatHereSitting · 04/01/2009 18:43

(Slight Hijack, sorry Mummytoleon)Yes babybaby we are both due the same day

How did your scan go? Did you find out what you're having? Mine is a bouncing baby boy!! But I'm having another scan on tuesday as he was being difficult at the last one and they couldn't see his heart properly, but all was well

BabyBaby123 · 04/01/2009 18:45

great news SHS I am having a girl! Have a 4d scan booked for the end of the month (just got to find the money now!)
Hope all goes well on Tuesday

SatHereSitting · 04/01/2009 18:55

How exciting babybaby and congratulations. I'm thinking of having a 3d scan done as well soon. Apparently they do them near mine for only £65!!! But dp is not keen as he thinks the baby looks scary and we've already had one private scan, but we will see

BalthazarCandleQueen · 04/01/2009 19:43

MTL - we're all doing well here. Dewi is sitting up, rolling over and just cut first tooth - it's been one hell of a Christmas!

MummuyToLeons LMP must have been about September 2007, so no wonder the dates have changed!!!

BabyBaby123 · 04/01/2009 19:46

do the dates normally change that long into the pregnancy though? I thought at 16 weeks it would be highly unlikely the dates would be out by 4 weeks!!

mummywhodrinks · 04/01/2009 21:40

So were you already pregnant when you had the contraceptive implant fitted in August?

MummyToLeon · 04/01/2009 21:47

yep but didnt know i was or that there was even a chance of me being and had it removed asap. Was in the first 2 weeks of pregnancy

BabyBaby123 · 04/01/2009 21:49

it's pretty amazing to ovulate within 2 weeks of birth whilst breastfeeding, I must say....

MummyToLeon · 04/01/2009 21:50

Thats why i had unprotected sex cause i didnt think i could get pregnant whilst breastfeeding

Says here that you gave up bf when your ds was 2 weeks

lou031205 · 04/01/2009 21:59

I am shocked also that they would not keep you in. I was admitted with suspected prem labour at 33 weeks, and given nifedipine tablets, steroids and CTG monitoring for DAYS.

No leak in waters.

M2L sorry you are feeling attacked, but it isn't the first time that your story has been unconventional, is it?

What have the hospital advised you regarding your leak? Am surprised they didn't tell you to avoid baths. You would normally be suggested to only have showers?

SatHereSitting · 04/01/2009 22:01

Mummytoleon, please don't think I'm doubting you by asking this but I am genuinely interested for personal reasons.

When did you find out you were 4 weeks further along than you thought? Because you must have only been 12 weeks when you had a nuchal scan otherwise it would be inaccurate (can't be done after 13 weeks) and the sonographer should have picked up on the fact that you were 16 weeks not 12 then ISWIM

Then when we spoke you'd just had another scan where you said you were 16 weeks at that point (not 20 weeks), but since then you've found out you're 4 weeks a head? I'm just really confused, didn't they date your pregnancy at your 12 and 16 week scan? And if they did, had they got it wrong?

Again please don't think I'm having a go, I'm genuinely not

beanieb · 04/01/2009 22:18

I think it's things like this that make people suspicious of some posts made which sometimes don't make sense. I'm sure people are not trying to be mean, they are just concerned as it's not, as you know, unusual for people to come here and tell very elaborate untruths.

hannahlouhoo · 04/01/2009 22:29

hmmmm a little inconsistant MTL?

I read your thread the other day in the gay parent section(cant link or find the page now!) and with soooo much on your plate how do you find the time to post so much? I only have 1 ds and work about 6 hours on a weekend, mabye you time manage better than me?!

hannahlouhoo · 04/01/2009 22:55

And so late at night? with a 27 week old how can you be up until 2am 3am? sounds very - ..odd.

mummy2olivia · 04/01/2009 23:13

I think we need to be very careful here. Yes, a few things have gone on recently that can make us suspicious of other posters BUT if somebody posts on here needing help shouldnt we just offer help rather than digging out every past thread and picking up inconsistencies- to prove what? That they don't really need help?

When I was 17/18 I was disorganised, unreliable, stayed up late and got things mixed up and wrong and hell, I even stretched the truth now and again just to be outrageous- shit if I remembered whether I'd started my periods let alone when my last one was it was pretty amazing! Lets just remember that MTL is a young mum and is perhaps trying her very best here and needs some support- she doesnt need picking to shreds. Maybe there is some confusion about her EDD- if she had just had a baby, had an implant and was BF then I'd be confused too! And she may have been sent home from hosp- we dont know the full facts, we only know what MTL has said- the drs have examined her and checked it out and perhaps they dont always know best but it doesnt mean she is a liar!

I am not saying she is a troll or not but MN is a network of mums helping eachother and supporting eachother- not bloody taggart! and if someone needs help I think we need to be careful not to scare someone genuine off with lots of accusations and probing.
