Sorry to bother again.

Im getting pains in my lower stomach and back that feel like im in labour but im only 23 weeks pregnant. I didnt have this with my first baby and im scared. I dont think i am in labour but thats the only way i could think to describe the pains. It's not constant, just on and off but when it happens its so painful.

Hi mummytoleon, we've spoken before and I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. I'm also 23 weeks so I can imagine how scared you must be feeling.

Please rest as much as you can, what more are the hospital doing for you? Like babybaby said I'm suprised they let you go so early x

Lulumama · 04/01/2009 17:03

am amazed you were not kept in

you usually have to have an IV of drugs to stop prem labour and steroids.

am amazed an ambulance was sent too.

had your waters fully ruptured?

SpookyMadMummy · 04/01/2009 17:25

Sorry but I am at the hospital sending someone in pre term labour home within 12 hours. Usually the protocols suggest a drip to stop the labour, and steroids to mature the baby's lungs. I had those when I had a threatened pre term labour at 33 weeks with Dd1 and they are given by injection 12 hours apart.
23 weeks is just about a viable pregnancy and hospitals would do anything they can to make sure the pregnancy carries on.
Was a cervical stitch suggested? What about follow up care?

BabyBaby123 · 04/01/2009 17:26

must admit to being a little too tbh....

brettgirl2 · 04/01/2009 17:26

You must rest, take care of yourself.

Lulumama · 04/01/2009 17:28

am that a threatened prem labour was treated so casually

no steroids, no drip, no follow up, no overnight stay

also at ambulance being sent, but perhaps am being unkind.

MummyToLeon · 04/01/2009 17:40

Ambulance was sent as i had no other way of getting to the hospital. Waters havent fully ruptured, just leaked. Got an appointment with the doctor for tomorrow. They kept me until 12:30 today. Was told steroids would be given if that injection didn't work. Was it not done rightly?? I dont know because this didnt happen with my first pregnancy. thankfully.

Oh and they also said my cervix was still thick

adds another to list. Of course maybe it's the hospital's fault, didn't they lose your notes so did your nuchal scan at 19 weeks?

Lulumama · 04/01/2009 17:43

hope everything is ok for you

MummyToLeon · 04/01/2009 17:45

yes Fanjo they did......May just be me being too overly sensitive but i feel like im being personally attacked here.

Lulumama · 04/01/2009 17:45

nuchal scan at 19 weeks ? ok, stepping away from the thread.

also, mummytoleon, not a great idea to have all your real life names on here. it is all easily googleable and makes you easy to find in real life

Lulumama · 04/01/2009 17:45

sorry , but the bare details you posted sounded as i said, hope all is well, and i mean that sincerely.

MummyToLeon · 04/01/2009 17:46

No, i had my nuchal done at my 12 week scan but didnt get the results until 19 weeks as notes were misplaced.

Hmm
stuffitllama · 04/01/2009 17:50

Hope all turns out ok

MummyToLeon · 04/01/2009 17:52

Thank you Llama. Things are seeming okay at the moment. Just feeling sick as usual!!

Take it easy, Mummy. Look after yourself. The last 24 hours must feel surreal but you did the right thing by getting checked out. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow.

SpookyMadMummy · 04/01/2009 17:57

www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=gay_parents&threadid=582086-hello#11879378..... I am not sure how you can be 23 weeks pregnant if your DS was 5 weeks old in early August, Even if you were pregnant at that point you would be about 16 - 18 weeks pregnant

SpookyMadMummy · 04/01/2009 17:58

no, sorry, about 20 weeks.

BabyBaby123 · 04/01/2009 18:03

so when did you find out your dd's nf was 8.5mm? was that at your 12 week scan (which you said was delayed...) your 16 week or your 20 week?

TWINSETinapeartree · 04/01/2009 18:04

Hope everyting is ok mummy2leon, take things easy.

MummyToLeon · 04/01/2009 18:09

Sorry to be rude but i am ignoring those of you who are questioning me to try and make me out to be a liar because you are upsetting me and i shouldnt have to explain myself to anyone. Ive had a hard enough time as it is without being judged on a website that i have otherwise found helpful.

Hi MummyToLeon, we were on same ante natal thread when Leon and my DS2 was born (I was JacobsPrincess back then!). Really hope you are able to rest well and that everything goes well for the rest of your pregnancy.
And Happy Birthday!

SatHereSitting · 04/01/2009 18:11

Hi again mummtyoleon, please don't feel like you are being personally attacked, I think a few people are just abit at a few things you said.

I must admitt I am a little confused too as last time we 'spoke' was when you introduced yourself to the pregnancy topic if you remember? And you said there that you were 16 weeks and I said I was 20 weeks, meaning I'm 4 weeks in front of you. But now your saying you're 23 weeks the same as me
Did you find out you were further along than you were, I'm not meaning to have a go, just confused that's all
