The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

OK my temp buddy experts. A Question for you. If someone has only been temping a few days in a normal post-ov time, so that the coverline is not known, but the temps at 37.8 look like more of a post-ov temp than a pre-ov temp. THEN What would cause the temp to rise at cd32 to 37.1?

As for silly names people have, some I have come across are Orson Carter, Polly Cotton (I think they should have given her the middle name Ester), and I went to school with Teresa Green too. Or how about children with the surname Duckworth being given middle names of 1)Donald, 2)Daffy and the girl with middle names of Jemmima Puddle (yes Puddle is written on her birth cert!)

Better go and get Jak dressed and feed him breakfast, Fridays I don't have to do the school run in the morning, and I love the laziness of it all, but just spotted Jak attacking the ashes from the range - whoops!

Hey ladies my 20 week scan went well last night my baby girl looks perfect I am going to put the 3D pic on my profile but it isn't as good as it could be because the placenta is anterior and she kept putting her hands in front of her face. When I was looking at her though I think she looks like DS, round face and little button nose

MrsMcJnr · 16/01/2009 09:59

Sorry Rainbowdays, meant to answer (or try to) your question. It is hard to say without knowing more about the cycle but I'd say a rise at cd32 is either pregnancy or AF on her way, without more of a pattern, it is hard to say yet, sorry

babylove123 · 16/01/2009 14:48

Hey everyone.

Am suffering today - have another side effect of this viral cold thing. My mum had it and had severe sinus pain for a week. I've had the aches, popping, balance problems etc for 4 days but now im in agony with it. Was meant to be walking up into town today but everytime i walk around i'm falling into things because of my balance. Glad its a friday so DP will be home to look after DD later - trying to keep her entertained is hard when you feel like shite!

Honeyapple - whoops, that what i do!

Mrs - well done on the scan, great news!

Oh and on the name thing, i went to school with a girl called shona. She had 2 sisters - one called rona and one called iona! See the pattern anyone?!

Also know a crispin whettham.....

MrsMcJnr · 16/01/2009 15:11

Thanks Babylove, sorry to hear you are feeling rough. Can't believe that sequence of sisters, crazy! there are some Londoners at the soft play I go to and one of them has kids called Billy and Tiger Lily and when she shouts for them (or at them mostly) I always get the giggles! {grin] I also heard of twins called Jasper and Casper recently.

babylove123 · 16/01/2009 20:09

Some people are cruel arent they?!

When we were TTC in 2007, i said if i had boy then he'd be Diesel James (i liked Diesel back then) but the James for James Bond (007)!

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/01/2009 11:15

lovely news about your scan mrs! did you already know you were having a girl? did i miss that? so what name is going to go with Xavier then?

honeyapple · 17/01/2009 13:07

i had a neighbour whose daughters were called Emerald and Crystal...

Great news on the scan Mrs- will u be keeping her name secret? And YES greedy- we did know she was having a girl!

Chooster · 17/01/2009 13:09

Hi - good news that the scan was all good Mrsmc! Your pregnancy is really zooming along - I can't believe your at that stage already .

Sorry you are feeling so rough babylove, how long did it take for your mum to fully recover? Sounds nasty... At least the weekend is here like you say and you've got an extra pair of hands around.

How is your sis by the way greedy? Hope she's still doing well?

On the name thing I was at school with twin boys called edward and edwin - thats just mean isn't it and my cousin has called her son oliver and daughter olivia which is a bit too close for me .

All good here - boys are in top form and am just loving watching them playing together. Theo is starting to copy max more and more when they play with cars / planes etc... Its just so lovely to see the bond between them . And DH and I have booked a little trip to chicago at the end of Jan to stay with some friends without the boys!! Am half really excited and half dreading it . Its only for 4 days but I'll miss them like mad and am already starting to think about the list of things I'm going to have to leave for my MIL . which of course she doesn't need but I'll need to do it anyway for my own peace of mind... Please tell me you would all do the same and I'm not damaging my boys forever .

Chooster · 17/01/2009 13:11

Hi honey! You having a peaceful lunch time spell on the PC too . DS1 and DH are out for a walk and DS2 is sleeping...

MrsMcJnr · 17/01/2009 16:37

LOL Greedy I thought you knew ALL things! I think B2 will be Aaliyah Rosemary, we can't come up with a single name that we both like/agree on and we still really like Aaliyah. What do you think??

Thanks Honeyapple

Chooster - your trip sounds fabulous and just what you and DH need I am sure, 4 days is nothing to the boys (and they will have a ball at their grandparents anyway) but it'll recharge your's and DH's batteries

rainbowdays · 18/01/2009 13:38

MrsMc - good to hear that the scan went well. I thought greedy was the font of all knowledge too, she has obviously not been keeping enough time on MN !!!! How do you pronounce the name Aaliyah?

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 18/01/2009 21:11

Rainbowdays - it's ah-lee-ah or \a(a)-li-yah\ see here www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/Aaliyah

scorpio1 · 19/01/2009 11:36

i say ah-lee-ah, but i always think of the famous one....

I know an ah-lay-a, and her twin, Amber. Really nice

Girls names i am loving at the mo include Eloise, Elodie, Lexie and Emmeline.

Am so (unreasonably) at Charlotte Church - Dexter was Mimi's name if she was a boy, and i want to call dc4 Dexy if its a boy too...now there will be millions! I actually called my bump Dexy until i found out the sex

honeyapple · 19/01/2009 13:35

scorpio- dexter is a great name! And Lexie too- that is Fettle's DD!

I would say ah-lee-ah too. Very pretty. My only thought is that is sounds quite non-european and people might assume your DD is from a non-european background. Does this matter? I dunno. I tend to think that you shouldnt call a child a name unless they have some link to it's origin... ie Niamh is a lovely name- but unless you have some Irish roots I'm not so sure... . Anyway tis only my opinion! Leah is pretty too.

Having just said all this my DS1 has a hebrew name... And I'm not Jewish!

MrsMcJnr · 19/01/2009 14:24

Honey - I do agree with you about the origin of names, it is one of the questions hanging over the name for me even though I do really like it, actually, there is a similar name in Hebrew, Arabic and Swahli but I am not from any of those backgrounds

MrsMcJnr · 19/01/2009 14:25

I do like Leah but DH doesn't sad]

Scorpio - pretty names, I quite like Xanthe at the mo but DH says NO!

scorpio1 · 19/01/2009 14:46

Xanthe was the other choice for Mimi's 2nd middle name iyswim. Bit much with ds name though, no?

Is Lexie 'just' Lexie? I would want just Lexie you see, me & DH already arguing, lol

MrsMcJnr · 19/01/2009 14:56

Yes I know what you mean LOL especially as he is pronounced "X-a-vier" and she would be "Zan-the" very confusing with the different X sounds! Do you like Alexa??

honeyapple · 19/01/2009 18:59

Tis tricky this naming malarky! I do think it is nice to have a slightly unusual name- however not too unusual or else the poor child is forever spelling their name or telling people how to pronounce it.

Dex in bed already tonight (which is very early for him) but he only had 30mins sleep all day. I have given up on trying to establish a routine with him- too difficult with the other kids as have so many after school activities- driving DD to various dance things etc... that Dex just has to be dragged along and he often ends up falling asleep in the car at totally the wrong time.

right time to put DD to bed

x

fettle · 19/01/2009 20:17

Honey - Toby has no routine either - just sleeps when he wants in the car or pram while I'm out doing things!

DD is indeed Lexi - but without the e, was going to have the e, but DH sent the e-mail announcing her arrival while I was in hospital and misspelt it and decided we quite liked it without the e! But she is formally Alexandra, so she can decide to have a "grown up" name when she's older and a crown court barrister!!! (some yukky person I met once, then said and if she wants to be a stripper she can just stay Lexi! - she swears she was joking, but I still can't completely forgive her!!).

Toby though is Toby as neither DH nor I like the name Tobias, so if he wants a longer name when he's older - tough!!!

Congrutulations on the scan Mrs - can't believe either that you're 20 weeks already!! Going quickly from here, but probably not with you!!

Babylove - sorry to hear you're not very well - hope back on tip top form soon!

Chooster - your trip away sounds bliss - but do know how you are feeling about leaving you're little boys. Not left Toby yet (I don't think? = can't remember if I have, isn't that awful!), but anyway, whenever we've left DD with anyone I've always left lists and lists of things to do and don't, what to feed etc! Makes me feel better, even they ignore it all!!!

Greedy - not like you not to be on the ball!! You juggling 3 children or something at the mo?

big waves to all
