The old thread was getting impossibly slow on my computer, so decided that it was time to create a new one with hopefully Rah and Ready joining us, and with a whole new due date list.....

so MrsM, Momwi - come and start the list and hopefully Rah and Ready will come here now too!!!!!

I am so excited that the temp buddies are back together again, can you tell?!?!?!?

I like alexa - that was going to be Theo's name if he were a girl although I may well have changed my mind if it came to it as Max and Alexa may not be that good together . Dunno really...

The only Aaliyah I know is pronounced a-lee-ah, but its a lovely name whichever way you say it . Have you got a plan b MrsMc?

better head off anyway - got to check max is sleeping (he's still on xmas hols going to bed late time!) and then do some work to catch up as I left early today - really really really cant be arsed though!

Chooster · 19/01/2009 20:43

x'd fettle - love the story about DH mis-spelling Lexi's name .

Was thinking about Firsty earlier - hoping she's getting on Ok...

Bodkin · 19/01/2009 21:21

Hi all

Great news on the scan Mrs... love the name, and while I kind of agree with what Honey says, on the other hand I think it goes very well with Xavier - both very dramatic names, somehow.

Just been making myself all paranoid reading up on soya milk (which she drinks as opposed to cows milk) Supposed to be all sorts of reasons why I shouldn't be giving it to my under-24 month old... although my GP okayed it. Still, we swap between rice and soya milk and she eats a fantastic diet these days, so I guess I should just chill about it. But she's still so little! I just got handed down some size 4 shoes for her from a friend who's DD is 3 months YOUNGER than Isla! That's just all wrong isn't it! And they're still way too big for her - she's only a size 2.5 still at 18 months!

Chooster - your trip away sounds bliss.. but I know what you mean about missing them. I was thinking about Firsty too the other day.

We've got our annual Centerparcs visit in 2 weeks time. Can't wait... that Spa is calling me... We've upgraded this year to one of the newly decorated villas, get us!

MrsMcJnr · 19/01/2009 21:50

Honey ? took me from 7.45 until 9 to get DS down tonight normally Daddy does it but he was out for the 2nd night in a row and I think DS was missing him.

Fettle ? Lexi is lovely time is going really quickly here; I just can?t believe I am now 21 weeks, scary stuff!! Started eBaying for the pink nursery

Chooster- didn?t know that Alexa was your back up for Theo, thought it was Ruby? No plan B for names, worrying that! DH won?t think about it and just says no to anything I mention.

Bodkin ? thanks. Can?t comment on the shoe sizes as I don?t have a clue on that front yet but I hope you find peace of mind on the soya front. Enjoy Centreparcs I am going for a pre-natal massage on Friday, should be bliss.

iamamummy · 20/01/2009 10:31

iamamummy · 20/01/2009 11:22

Grin Grin

scorpio1 · 20/01/2009 12:41

CONGRATS!!!!!

Chooster · 20/01/2009 12:48

BLOODY HELL iamamummy - no sooner had you said ttc that you've got a bfp!!! - ooooh that is exciting - take it you are thrilled!! Does DP know??? What will be the age difference for you then?

Hey Bodkin! Ooooooh the newly decorated ones! We did that last time as we went with myn mum and dad and I thought they would like it. It was LOVELY!!! I spent ages drawing on the chalk wall (blackboard thing!). Sorry to hear you've still got worries about Isla and her size. how much does she weight now, do you know? presume GP is not too concerned? Was Nelly small too??? (Sorry for all teh Q's! )

Oops, I'll be back

Chooster · 20/01/2009 12:56

Tsk, someone came to my desk to talk about work - Do they not realise this is my MN time .

Mmm, where was I?? baby names... You're right MrsMc, we did have Ruby in there as a strong contender even though my mum HATED it . But Alexa was there too, in fact I think that may have been an option for Max as well . Either way we never really got past the throwing ideas around phase as we found out that Theo was a boy at 20 wks! So that kind of narrowed things down .

Right, guess I'd better do some work - Am still struggling to get back into the swing of things since being off over xmas... I'd love to win the lottery

iamamummy · 20/01/2009 13:08

hi ladies

think im over the shock now but just walking around with this ridiculously stupid grin

Bodkin · 20/01/2009 15:15

Wow, congrats Iam!!!! Fantastic news. 19 month age gap sounds good!

Chooster - just been to HV for a weigh-in - she's still under 20lbs! Well, 19lbs 15 1/2oz to be precise, so I guess if I'd given her half a banana before going in she'd have made it to 20lb She's fine, really. Still following her centile, so that;s all good. And she's just lovely these days, such a funny little thing, and very cuddly. I think whenever i look stuff up on here, I always end up so confused and paranoid, I should just trust my instincts really!

Mrs - prenatal massage sounds nice. 21 weeks, eh? How is the bump coming on, or are you barely showing?

babylove123 · 20/01/2009 18:46

Hi everyone,

Iam - congrats to u!!!! Fantastic news! Whens your due month shall i say?!!!

Mrs - very nice name, i always liked alexa. I was watching a programme today and someone had a daughter called leyla - i liked that.

Ive been tearing my hair out today! DD has been driving me mad! Has had a day where she refuses to sleep and crys constantly - think shes just having a bad day!!!

Ive gotta go - shes off again!

rainbowdays · 20/01/2009 19:33

iamamummy - big congratulations to you. so pleased for you. And the age gap is perfect.

Also slightly jealous as my cycle is usually 26/27days too and I am currently on cd 36 with no sign of af and constant BFN's - argggg! Was going to ask you lot if you would look at my chart, just for old times sake!!!!

OP posts:
honeyapple · 20/01/2009 19:50

iam- congratulations! Lovely news- so pleased for you.

bodders- Isla is just a little tot- some are big and some are little! We can't all be the same . Re soya milk- I think it is supposedly not so good for boys- something to do with the oestrogen-like hormones in it . What about goat's milk as another alternative? 2.5 shoes! Where do you find any so small? Clarkes told me they didnt start proper shoes until size 4 (Dex has 3.5)- but maybe they have smaller ones for girls?

Had a cuddle with a 2 weeks old little girl today- made me feel sort of broody- but not massively- which is good!

Jealous of all these holidays coming up. I am trying to find a villa for summer hols that is-

near enough to walk to beach/ restaurants etc
own swimming pool
toddler friendly (ie NO spiral staircases or perilous looking balconies)
and isnt ridiculously expensive...

looking at Turkey as seems a lot cheaper than Europe- probably cos of Euro... but never been to Turkey so not sure- anyone any thoughts??

Mrs- i have ended up in a very stupid situation of having to lie down with Dex in my bed to get him to sleep and then move him to his cot. DS1 was just as bad- but DD was brilliant at getting herself to sleep on her own.

Anyway I am hungry!
X

Chooster · 20/01/2009 20:17

Like you say bodkin, as long as she's progressing and you think that she is perfectly fit and healthy then there is nothing really to worry about. My boys are totally different in terms of their weight. There is only 5 or 6 pounds between them and yet they are 3 yrs apart (Theo is about 30 pounds and Max is about 35 ish). So theo is on about the 95th centile for his weight and Max below the 25th... I do sometimes worry about Max and his weight but I know he is fine really. Although having said that I do have his sleep clinic taking place on Sunday to see if he has sleep apnea. If he does that could be affecting his appetite. Do you think Isla's milk intolerance is anything to do with it?

Congrats again Iamamummy! Hope you are still grinning!

Chooster · 20/01/2009 20:21

Hi Honey - I keep hearing great things about menorca and that its generally a really cild friendly place. We looked last yr I think and it wasn't that expensive...We haven't been on any beachy / child friendly holidays recently so look forward to seeing what anyone else thinks. Mrs will be a bit of an expert on Spain!

seaside72 · 20/01/2009 22:44

Wow - Iammummy - CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!

Ok I am definitely a bit - I think that means I am officially broody!

Sorry not much time for a catch up - I have been a bit manic with DS's first bday and going away on Friday.

Bodkin - Seems like Cassius is like Isla too - he is only just 19lbs and firmly stuck around the 9th centile. He is so skinny compared to all his pals, but he is one of the tallest so a proper beanpole. As you say, Isla's diet is great so I am sure she is just going to be petite and have a great metabolism that she will prob be very grateful for when she is 25!

Rainbow - is there a link for you chart? fingers crossed for a BFP for you

greedy - any news from your sis??

MrsMc - So glad your scan went well - the pic is so cute
We have friends with a Lana (short for Alana) which I like.

babylove - hope you are felling better hon, sorry DD had a bad day xx

Chooster - hope the sleep clinic goes OK - does Theo have to stay there overnight and be monitored?

fettle - LOL about your DH and Lexi's name - It is such a lovely name and I think I like it better without the e on the end

honeyapple- cant think of any good recommendations for hols at the mo - all the good places are now too £££ cos of the ? Have heard good things about Turkey though. Come to Cornwall and see me and Scorpio!

Ready - where are you hon? Hope all is going OK with miniready xxx

Where is Rah?? When is she coming to join us!

Waves to Scorpio

scorpio1 · 21/01/2009 09:23

Honeyapple - we have been to Turkey; we stayed in a villa but not suitable for toddlers.....I personally don't like it there, although i did go a while ago (years!!). Cyprus? We are thinking Cyprus (again for me!) this year (its very lovely). DH is going to Thailand in April for 2 weeks; to train. lucky him! He has 6 fights before June already

Mimi is just gone 9 months - yep still ttc but i am still BF, no rush!

scorpio1 · 21/01/2009 09:25

Chooster - Menorca is really nice, very quiet, nice beaches and lots of fresh fish . We stayed in a hotel over there though with no dc so havent seen it from child point of view, but was no loud parties till 5am or anything where we were!

rainbowdays · 21/01/2009 10:58

seaside - my chart, I know I ov'd late (assuming I did ov,which I think I did), I am suffering PMT symptoms like crazy, and just fed up with not knowing. I would put it down to a weird annovulatory cycle, if it wasn't for the fact that both my mum and my sister had pregnancies where they never got a positive test. So if you are broody - are you joining the ttc craziness now?

greedygreedyguzzler · 21/01/2009 14:35

congrats iamamummyagain! well done you! sounds like a lovely age gap. seems like only yesterday you got your first bfp though! so pleased for you.

mrs - nice name..........you do pick the difficult to pronounce/spell names dont you!

honey - we went to turkey last year for all the reasons you said and it was FAB!! our villa did have dodgy stairs though which wasnt a problem then, but would be now. i was a bit unsure about going cos i had a horrible time in turkey as a teenager, but as a family it was lovely............they do love REALLY love little kids so expect a lot of attention! especially blond or redheads..............kiki was a bit scared of some of the men though cos she gots lots of attention!

gotta go to school......back later

Ready · 21/01/2009 17:27

Congrats Iamamummy

Heard the heartbeat today, so I am floating at the moment

Hope everyone is ok?

Bodkin, you really didn't say anything offensive at all. Silly I never thought I would be here is what I meant

fettle · 21/01/2009 18:41

Congratulations - Iamamummy!!! fabulous news

Congratulations to you too Ready!!! Bet it really feels real now!!!

Rainbow - really hard to tell anything from your chart - your post-ov temps may well be different from usual if you are still breast-feeding?

got to dash - DD wants a night night cuddle.
xxx

honeyapple · 21/01/2009 21:39

thanks greedy- have found a villa that looks lovely on ownersdirect and it is available- so may have to go for it- who did you fly with? Have you heard of Viking? They are a charter airline and seem to be the cheapest- although might rather pay a bit more for monarch as I have heard of them .

Ready- lovely hearing the hearbeat isnt it . How many weeks are you now?
