perineal massage....anyone tried it?
PMSL at the whole thing - if I have ever doubted DH before then this puts it all to bed!! He read the instructions, he got a towel, he got the olive oil (after asking what it's role was, i had to talk to him about friction and lubrication...maybe in other circumstances it would be less necessary but this isn't one of them

It was hilarious!! But I liked it...When people ask me what I did on xmas eve....

Right I don't look like I have a life, being on here at this time o xmas eve, so I am off to be...festive or something.

VillageMum · 26/12/2008 11:43

Thanks for the kind welcome guys...
Hope you've all had a good Xmas! x

VJay · 27/12/2008 09:32

Hello, I've had 2 mc's this year, one in June and the other in October, and I'm now 5 weeks pregnant. I'm so scared. Me and dh aren't really talking about it just yet, we are pleased but just frightened of getting too attached and planning etc... for it all to then fail again. We are telling no one in RL, so I am joining you, if that's OK, for some support. You all sound so friendly.

dan39 · 27/12/2008 11:42

Hello and welcome Vjay - its a bit quiet here at the mo but everyone will be back soon - hang around you are in good company!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 27/12/2008 11:52

waves hello through sleep deprived droopy eyelids Hope everyone had a good Christmas

thousands of apologies for not checking in more regularly but I have a nocturnal 8 week old on my hands and life is tough, very tough as we are all struck by various lurgies on top of the sleep deprivation.

Hello to all the newbies and congratulations to KD73

not long now for DBNO and the february girls....can't believe how quickly time is marching, although I'm living in some kind of freaky time warp where every night seem to last forever but the last eight weeks have gone in a blink.

will try and keep up especially with all the babies due in late winter/early spring

Healthy and well vibes to one and all.

VillageMum · 27/12/2008 19:53

Vjay, really glad to see you here - I'm feeling just the same way you are... 5+2 today and while I started this pg off feeling incredibly positive, the last few days have seen me worrying and obsessing and generally not being cool about it all. Have now booked an early scan for 10 January, that's how paranoid I am. I'd be honoured to hold your hand as we go through this... x

olivo · 28/12/2008 15:02

hello all. just dropping by to say hello to VillageMum and VJay.

VillageMum · 28/12/2008 19:51

Hi olivo, how are you doing? I'm kicking myself for being so worried, but I just can't shake my irrational fears. Will feel a whole lot better if all turns out to be well in a fortnight... (my last pg miscarried at about 6 weeks so reaching 7 and seeing a heartbeat would be a real milestone for me). Hope you are feeling ok - any morning sickness yet? x

mumface · 28/12/2008 22:20

hi,i only post now & again.Got 12 week scan tomorrow,so nervous i darn't go 2 bed.Just the memories of my 1st ever scan(bad news)& i feel petrified of that room.The signs all look good(in a horrid way)sickness & constant saliva & spitting Bleughh.Let u know how it went 2morrow.

LoobyLou36 · 29/12/2008 12:24

mumface hope all goes well at your scan

Welcome vjay and village mum

Wheelybug · 29/12/2008 12:28

Hope the scan went ok Mumface.

Hope everyone managed to have relaxing christmases and those that had bad news before christmas are doing as ok as can be expected.

Welcome to the new loons .

Congrats KD and nice to hear from you Daisy - although sorry to hear about the lack of sleep.

Nothing much to report here other than the fact January looming makes March seem very close ! Which is good..... I think... although scary..

VJay · 29/12/2008 15:35

vm I would love for you to hold my hand through this, we will get through this together., one day at a time. I am so scared at the moment, I try not think about the pg, but every little twinge etc reminds me. I've also been feeling so sick the last 2 days, which I hope can only be good.
mumface, I sat spitting into a hanky last night, I had no clue as to why, but there you are saying that you've been doing it. I've never experienced it before!
All I want to do is go into hibernation for the next 7 weeks.

cece · 29/12/2008 15:50

Just popping in to say Happy New Year as we are away from tomorrow till term starts back.

All well here. At the half way mark today . Saw the mw at 18 and 19 weeks for HB listen in and all fine. Sounded like galloping horses at 18 weeks but a train at 19 weeks so not sure what that says about the gender! LOL

Hello to all the newbies - Keep thinking healthy and well thoughts.

Sorry to those who have left. Hope you will be back soon.

VillageMum · 29/12/2008 16:03

VJay, I'm here if you need me... how far along are you now? I'm 5+4 today (by my count anyway) and also very scared right now. I've felt sick occasionally over the last few days and today and would also like to take that as a good sign - just clinging to anything that seems usual and normal (and trying desperately to remember how I felt being pg with ds over 7 years ago, but can't really!)

mumface, how was the scan?

VJay · 29/12/2008 18:03

vm, I'm in the same boat as you, as ds is 6 so trying to remember that far back is a little difficult .
I think I'm 5+2 today, but not sure. I'm just going to try and take things as slowly as possible. I'm seeing my gp next Monday, so I will discuss with her the possibility of an early scan. I'm not sure if I want one or not. The first mc was at 11 weeks, by my calculation, but the baby was only 9 weeks, and seen with a hb. My second mc was at 7 weeks, again by my calculation, but baby was only 5.5 weeks, and again with a hb. So I'm not sure what to do at the moment, but I will discuss it with my doc.

mumface how did you get on today?
cece have a good trip

mumface · 29/12/2008 19:51

Well my scan was brilliant,it was so detailed& kicking away.was 13+4 by LMP but have been dated at 12+2 by scan but she said if it hadnt been so curled up it might have measured for another couple of days old!
VJay RE spitting, it's driving me mad i have to sit with a terry nappy next to me or chewing gum/sweets helps when out.I never had it with my last 2 PGs.

maz32 · 30/12/2008 10:30

hi everyone how r u all sorry havent been on for a few days, welcum to newbies, all well here i feel mad panicing the other week wen bleeding cos the hosp say its normal-dont they ever read ur note which say miscarriage in aug therefore will panic during next pregnancy!! well nearly 16 weeks, so will hopefully get a movement in next few weeks?! does any one else carry strep b? had problems at my consultant appt cos they dont want to treat me in labour this time?xx

maz32 · 30/12/2008 10:40

hi village mum, my story is similar well ish!? we have a nearly 3yr old and found out we were pregnant in july, after the suprise etc we were over the moon, and then end of aug had miscarriage, so then i was desperate to be [regnant so we tried and im so lucky and happy to say we fell strait away, and im now nearly 16 weeks! it is a worry and i dont know how i got thro the day sometimes cos every minute i was thinking its not going to be,but everone on herer was a god send! thanx everyone! we had an early scan which re assurred me loads but i still worry! but its getting less and i feel sick all day everyday so the hormones are still racing good luck xxxxxxxxxxxxx

maz32 · 30/12/2008 10:40

by its quiet on here at the mo!x

VillageMum · 30/12/2008 11:33

VJay, that is so shit - having miscarried both times after seeing the hb. I see what you mean about being in two minds about having an early scan. I realise that it's no guarantee but will have one anyway as the not knowing what's going on at all is possibly worse for me. Hope you are feeling okay today?

mumface, that's brilliant news! you must be so relieved and happy!

maz, your story gives me hope. I've had the all-day worry sessions too in the last week or so - and then I've worried that worrying would cause me to mc again... madness. Think I'm getting a better grip on myself now. Really glad that all's going well for you in this pg! At the mo I just can't even imagine being 16 weeks!

maz32 · 30/12/2008 14:00

villagemum its amazing how ive got here! had scare the other week wen bleeding again waited 3 days for scan and it was nothing to worry about a low placenta which will hopefully move up by 20 weeks? take every day as it comes and keep in touch wih people on here cos it gave and still gives me hope!xx

maz32 · 30/12/2008 14:01

kd73 lovely news!! so pleased for you what am amazing christmas present!! take care xx

VillageMum · 30/12/2008 14:29

maz, sounds as if you're doing well and that all's fine; hang in there! (says the nervous wreck!) I actually have my first GP visit this afternoon and am tempted to throw myself sobbing around her neck, not that this will do me any good. Nothing to do but wait now... Feeling really sick today though and that cheers me up a bit. Take care x

VJay · 30/12/2008 14:37

lol vm, I feel really happy that I'm feeling sick too!! I seem to be chasing you from thread to thread today
