Strong BHs, suddenly loads of colostum appearing, backache and I've booked my shopping to be delivered on Thursday, my due date. Do you think I've tempted fate enough?

MamaG · 29/10/2008 12:17

I hardly dared to click on FM's link

No, nowt happening, got my mum and sister up for the day, they've just taken the DC out for a walk so I can p ut my feet up

Went to MW this morning, she said she'll do a sweep next Wednesday so 40+6 and then again at 40+9 then refer for induction.

Resigned to waiting now, but may try the head down tricks, although its rare for a third baby to engage I believe?

Anyway.

How rude of that woman on 3rd Novem ber to go into labour before us!

I don't live in the place that grows on trees, I'm about 10 miles south of there - NO idea aobut the "ham is bent" thing, but I am a bit dim at times - ooh lack, you must be nearish me too!

LilRedWGoreandguts · 29/10/2008 13:22

C.mon! I need cheering up with new baby news!

MamaG · 29/10/2008 13:25

I didn't mean lack, I meant blackbird!

Are you having your baby at Lancaster blackbird?

OP posts:
MamaG · 29/10/2008 13:29

Right, I need a wee so I'm off

Going to walk upstairs sideways like crab

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 13:41

sorkycake, apparently it's more effective if applied topically to the cervix as it contains similar sorts of natural prostaglandins to sperm.

positive thinking and visualisation ladies; we'll have no talk of being resigned to anything here

and this third baby is definately engaged!

ToThrottleABlackBird · 29/10/2008 13:56

Having him at Pontefract MamaG.

MamaG · 29/10/2008 14:35

Pontefract? Isn't that a little bit far?! Maybe you're not where I think you are

OP posts:
ToThrottleABlackBird · 29/10/2008 14:42

I'm only in wakefield

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 14:46

Doesn't wakey have a good MLU? or am I thinking of somewhere else?

I'm in Leeds and if LGI and Jimmy's are both closed (which happens on a regular basis recently ) I have to figure out where to go instead

expatinscotland · 29/10/2008 14:46

been sitting on ball.

he ain't shifting down.

midwife said they wouldn't do the sweep at all on Sunday if his head's not any further down, but they will ring RAH and schedule the induction on that day.

i'll virtually hold hands with MamaG as we make our long journeys to hospital.

in November.

expatinscotland · 29/10/2008 14:47

meaning they'll schedule my 12 NOvember induction.

goody.

ToThrottleABlackBird · 29/10/2008 15:30

Lacka, they have a birthing centre. Do you mean that? If so, apparently I am too fat to go there

FAQ · 29/10/2008 15:32

expat - I told you - DS3 didn't shift down at all until I went into labour - and had no inkling I was about to go into labour until I actually was........so still a chance of on October baby

expatinscotland · 29/10/2008 15:37

his head is 'sitting on the brim of my pelvis', FAQ, whatever that means.

he is high up there.

when i lay on my back he kicks my diaphragm.

FAQ · 29/10/2008 15:41

yep - that's was DS3 - actually that was all of them - but I had a CS (no labour) with DS1, and an induced VBAC with DS2 - I was convinced DS3 wasn't coming on his own - but boy did he surprise me

misdee · 29/10/2008 15:46

well i just got back in from midwife appointment.

3/5 engaged. sorry expat and mamaG

CookieMonster2 · 29/10/2008 15:54

FAQ: sorry to change the subject here, but I didn't think you could be induced once you had had a CS? I had a CS first time and worried about my chances of getting the VBAC that I want. I was led to believe they couldn't induce you because everything happens more quickly than 'normal'. Is it one of those cases where some doctors are happy with it and some aren't?

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 15:55

I see your 3/5ths and I raise you 1/5th misdee

I think the reason mine is engaged is because I'm very short so there isn't anywhere else for him to go but down.

I think that's where I was thinking of blackbird....but charming

expatinscotland · 29/10/2008 15:55

i'm resigned to it, misdee. no need to apologise. at least this way i'll get my epidural .

just as long as our son is safe i'm happy.

belgo · 29/10/2008 15:56

Third babies don't usually engage? Ds was engaged from about 36 weeks, but wasn't born until 40+6 weeks. At least it meant the heartburn was a bit better. Maybe it's to do with the shape of the pelvis?

misdee · 29/10/2008 15:56

i think she decided to enagae this morning when i fell off my chair, bruised my bum and my pride at the same time lol.

FAQ · 29/10/2008 15:57

I'm not sure - think it depends on the doctor....my waters had already broken (although no progress at all despite being given 72hrs for things to happen on their own.

scorpio1 · 29/10/2008 15:57

my third was 'free' the day before she was born, at 41 weeks exactly. I had a 3hr labour, so it is possible,

expatinscotland · 29/10/2008 15:58

wicked heartburn here. 225mg of ranidtine + gaviscon advance at nearly 40 weeks.

he's still so high. and probably quite long.
