Strong BHs, suddenly loads of colostum appearing, backache and I've booked my shopping to be delivered on Thursday, my due date. Do you think I've tempted fate enough?

expat good luck today - make sure you give a really good performance of misery to get that bloody induction - one of us has to give birth soon and to be fair, it should be you

go expat go

No sign of mini Expat and Mamag yet then?

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 14:58

bishops score of 4. had sweep.

bp borderline. trace of protein in urine (and yes, UTI ruled out).

soooooo, consultant tomorrow at 11AM and told to bring my bags along with sample of first morning urine and mid stream urine because if there's even a hint of elevated bp/protein i'll be kept in and they'll attempt induction.

hence, sweep to hopefully improve bishops score.

so far, just intermittent, very brief contractions but paracetamol controlling them.

his head's there, for some reason he just ain't wanting to come out.

he's fine.

it's me they're worried about.

ladytophamhatt · 02/11/2008 15:16

expat, I know I know teh answer but can you remind me what the bishop score is please?

when is you due date?
Has it been and gone?

soryy not been following properly, just looking out for any announcmenets.

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 15:18

due date was on Friday.

bishops score is how likely induction will result in labour, below 5 isn't favourable.

hence, they've done the sweep.

ladytophamhatt · 02/11/2008 15:22

God, Its shitty going over.
Were the girls late?

Prob not what you want to hear but I don't envy you one bit right now.
I had 3 sweeps with ds4 and he was still a week later, even in the afternoon of the 6th day the consultant virtually climbing inside my foof to try and get things started and he said nothing is happneing in there, cervix still closed etc etc bloody etc.

It the old chestnut of the baby coming when he is ready.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 02/11/2008 15:24

If I don't get back on this thread, Good Luck for tomorrow Expat, willbe thinking of you (and MamaG of course)

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 15:28

'Were the girls late?'

Nope. They were both 38 weekers.

I won't be allowed to go without intervention past tomorrow, though, I think.

Because of my BP and that protein.

ladytophamhatt · 02/11/2008 15:31

oh god....that must make being over due soooo much worse!

I hope it all goes well tomorrow, I can't wait to see teh announcment

misdee · 02/11/2008 15:34

thinking of you expat. hopefully the sweep will get things moving and he wil larrive tonight and save you from dreaded induction.

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 15:34

midwife: bring your bags with you. if you have ANY headache phone us immediately.

i've had bloody high blood pressure every single time!

BUT the girls came at 38+6 and 38+2.

thing is, too, i conceived this one teh cycle after ERPC. i had the ERPC on 10 december and then no period till 26 january, then not another one.

so no one is really sure when exactly i conceived.

everything's a guesstimate.

but a moot point if things don't either kick off or improve by tomorrow morning.

anyone near RAH?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 02/11/2008 15:38

good luck tomorrow Expat!

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 15:40

where's MamaG?!

hope she's having her baby!

Lib76 · 02/11/2008 15:55

good luck expat! hope the RAh is good to you! i thought they were fab

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 15:57

i don't even know whom i'm seeing, Lib!

but i had my scans there and so far, so good.

they're not so happy with my bp and those protein traces, so they said it'd be no problem to get me in tomorrow if there is no labour or improvement, as will be 40+3 tomorrow.

would prefer to be closer, but needs must and all.

baby in good position.

Lib76 · 02/11/2008 16:02

yeh best to be on safe side i guess even though it's not ideal for you. lets hope junior got a kick start with that sweep! what ward you heading to?

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 16:04

i need to look at my card .

it's on the 2nd floor.

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 16:06

i have to go to ultrasound first, as they want a look at DS and his fluids and the like.

then i have to go somewhere on the ground floor for more bloods.

i like a midwife called jennifer mcgill. she's ACE!

Lib76 · 02/11/2008 16:14

oh that's day care you are going to on ground floor, they are really good there. my consultant was Dr Hair (fantastic) and when i went into labour day before induction it was Dr Thompson on call he was really good too, very funny!!

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 16:17

i've seen a consultant (male) with an Irish/N. Irish accent who was good and funny, too.

Lib76 · 02/11/2008 16:20

oh i think i saw him on the ward on the sunday morning round after i had emc, he was nice. was interested in me cause i had low platelets which led to a load of other complications!!

Lib76 · 02/11/2008 16:21

you have certainly got to keep sense of humour during labour, mind you i found the G&A worked wonders for making me talk utter nonsense!!!

expatinscotland · 02/11/2008 16:23

G&A always makes me boak.

never worked for me either time .
