Just had a tentative early bfp which would make me due Feb 2027. Super scary as we have a not quite 9 month old…fingers crossed it’s sticky.

Anyone else?

Wondering if anyone has any advice/reassurance! I have a very rough & tumble 2 year old who loves to use me as his personal climbing frame. We’re trying to get him to be more gentle but not always getting the message on time which has resulted in a couple of knocks to my tummy. Now I’m only 5 weeks and 5 days so I’m trying to be realistic but I’ve been a bit crampy (was quite crampy first time round with DS) so just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same or has any advice!

Hi everyone, hope everyone's feeling positive and not too anxious / sick! I'm 7 weeks today, every week makes it feel a little more real! I've now been what I'd describe as 'sea sick' for a solid week - had a little around week 4, but full on the past week and I'm totally over it. Lucky to be off work coincidentally, so just resting, but middle of the night sea sick feeling is not something I'm enjoying. That said every time the nausea passes, I get immediately anxious someting is wrong!

Also exhausted and feel my diet is not what it should be. Vegetables just aren't something I can stomach. Not eating too much, or junk, just dull beige food a lot.

Thinking of a private scan in a week or so as I don't think I'll manage to wait until my public one!

@SantiagoSister yes the restless sleep is difficult as well. I’ve also come down with a rotten cold along with my 3yr old so feeling extra sorry for myself!

Pregnancy with a toddler is a whole new ball game isn’t it! The lack of sleep is really draining and along with the early starts that we can’t avoid it’s making me feel awful. Plus I just seem to catch everything and anything he brings home 🤧 I feel dizzy/sick with tiredness this morning, so you have my sympathies!

BananaMilkshake77 · 06/07/2026 00:41

Scan tomorrow and my anxiety is sky rocketing! had a blighted ovum previous to my last (successful) pregnancy and just dread it happening again. :(

Feeling exhausted also! Sleeping but don't feel very refreshed!

Wishing you lots of luck for your scan @BananaMilkshake77. It’s so hard to feel positive when you’ve had previous bad news at a scan before. Really hoping all is well for you when you go 🙏🏻

My sleep has been awful and I’m getting really fed up with it now, I’m exhausted but just lay there awake for ages trying to go to sleep. If I wake anytime after 4am, it’s game over and I’m up for the day no matter how tired I am 😩 never experienced this before!

BananaMilkshake77 · 06/07/2026 07:05

@SantiagoSister thank you! I know it's like my mind is just really negative with worry.

My insomnia was terrible last time!!! I use to get up because I was just lying there. Kindle and cups of tea helped pass the time!
I am on medication this time that does help me sleep so that's probably why it hasn't hit me (yet!) as I do generally get insomnia.

lmw88 · 06/07/2026 11:31

Good luck @BananaMilkshake77scan days are always a little tense. Hope it all goes well

Can totally sympathise, I’m the same, always thinking the worst unfortunately. Really trying hard to keep more positive this time. I’ve brought a rainbow baby home before, so why couldn’t I do it again? 🙏🏻

Sorry to hear you had the insomnia last time too! It’s horrible isn’t it. So glad it’s not crept back for you this time, and hopefully it stays that way 🤞🏼

Good luck for your scan!

SummerOak · 07/07/2026 17:44

Good luck with your scan @BananaMilkshake77 !!

onefortheroad3 · 08/07/2026 08:12

How did you get on @BananaMilkshake77? I have an early scan this morning as I have a painful 5cm cyst right next to baby. Scanned last week but could barely see bub just a lovely little flicker was a relief but back today. Always so nerve wracking and this is my 3rd 🫣🫣🫣

BananaMilkshake77 · 08/07/2026 12:09

Thanks everyone!!!

Everything as it should be and really strong heartbeat!! Measuring 2 days behind which I suspected as 2 weeks after period was Thursday and we only DTD Friday, so had to ovulate later then predicted!! Feeling much less anxious (for now!)

What's everyone's opinions on the 10 week screenings? It's quite expensive where I am . Weighing up whether worth it as it only gives 'high and low risk' no real answers to be able to actually make a decision for me!

I’m going to do the NIPT. It is £300 where I am but post loss I want the reassurance that it’s - hopefully - low risk. Also you can find out the gender too as I’m too impatient to wait (I’ve had a couple of dreams about having a boy… wondering if it’s a sign). Yes it doesn’t tell you for sure that there are issues, but if it comes back low risk I will be able to breathe a bit easier 😅

LGG29 · 08/07/2026 20:59

Glad your scan went well 🙂. I also had an early one today as I couldn’t wait and all looked good. Also thinking about the NIPT testing and unsure at the moment. I might see what odds the 12 week scan and blood test come back with and base it on that

BananaMilkshake77 · 10/07/2026 00:40

@LGG29 it always surprises me the nhs doesn't do the earlier scan as standard. It's a long wait till 12 weeks isn't it!
It's a requirement where I am then your referral goes to the hospital or birth centre you choose.

Is there a timeframe the NIPT has to be done by?

lmw88 · 14/07/2026 21:49

We’ve all gone a little quiet. How is everyone feeling? Still feeling pretty nauseous here. Still toying with booking early scan. Currently 7+3, 12wk scan still ages away

SantiagoSister · 14/07/2026 22:07

@lmw88 I’m 7+1 today (straddling both the Feb and March threads!) and feeling nauseous too, I’m finding it comes and goes day by day. Some days I have it almost constantly, others maybe once or twice in the whole day. I wasn’t going to have an early scan, but as time goes on I am feeling more and more impatient, my 12 week scan is mid August and it feels an age away. Not sure what to do really.

lmw88 · 14/07/2026 22:19

@SantiagoSisteryes feeling something similar. My nausea just seems to be a dull constant. Sometimes relieved by eating other times not. The thoughts of cooking especially meat really turn me at the minute. My scan isn’t until 17th August.
have you told others you’re pregnant yet!l? I was kinda thinking an early reassurance scan would give me confidence to tell some. ATM the only people that know are my partner, gym trainer & work manager

onefortheroad3 · 15/07/2026 09:50

Hello - I’m 8+1 and already 2 early scans due to a very large cyst! Got another at 10 weeks and have my booking appt next week too but it is a long time to go if no early scans! I’m struggling with exhaustion literally an effort to exist which isn’t ideal with 2 boisterous toddlers 🫣 no sickness this time which is amazing! VERY bloated though I feel like I look about 4 months pregnant 🫣 anyone else?

@lmw88 same here, I feel nauseous pretty much constantly albeit at a low level for most of the time thankfully. Some days worse than others. My sympathies with the thought of cooking making you feel 🤢 I totally understand that. The worst thing for me right now is the smells left over after cooking, when I walk back into the kitchen it really makes me feel awful smelling it, even though I’d just eaten and enjoyed whatever it was! I’ve not told anyone yet, except my husband and my dad (unfortunately I don’t have my mum anymore otherwise I would have told her too). I have a complicated pregnancy history with a third trimester loss so I try to tell as few people as I can until it’s no longer possible to hide it!

I feel you on the boisterous toddler front, thankfully I only have one to contend with but it’s such hard work when I’m feeling completely exhausted constantly! Also having a lot of bloating and look way further on than I am 🙈

SummerOak · 15/07/2026 13:32

I have an early scan booked for Saturday as I still don't feel like it's real. I do have fatigue and nausea on and off. I was supposed to have my booking appointment this week but had to cancel it and now I don't know when I'll be booked again.

onefortheroad3 · 15/07/2026 19:53

I’m also really itchy which I don’t remember with my other 2 🥴
