Full term tomorrow! Due 12th June, anyone want to wait for their babies with me?

I’m full term tomorrow with my fourth baby, planning a homebirth. Anyone want to wait for their babies with me? My due date is 12th June. I always found myself in TWW threads when TTC and this feels similar

I’ve finished work and am waiting for the nice weather this weekend to hand-wash and dry all the big items from the loft (car seat, next to me, etc.)

I have a high energy 2 year old who is still breastfed so I have been getting some tightenings but I think it’s just when I’ve been feeding her. She is at nursery today and the bigger two at school so I’m washing some clothes and preparing the house.

It’s so nice to have some time to myself and I’m feeling really quite patient… for now…

Oh congratulations @Pregnantera !

Well done on that long endurance test of a labour! And breastfeeding!

Can I ask - did you have a VB with breech? Did you have to push for it over cesarean if so, or were the midwives happy for it to go ahead? (My baby isn't breech, I'm just curious.)
Obviously no hurry to reply lol, you'll have your hands full! Enjoy all the snuggles! x

I had to fight for a VB however locally found a fantastic consultant who supported my choices. I laboured for 31 hours until 10cm dilated but after 4 hours pushing and baby not moving down the birth canal it was decided there was an obstruction so I had to have a caesarean. It was not what I wanted but I couldn’t do anymore than I did. The consultant was someone I trusted explicitly given her support in my decisions and so when she made the call I trusted her. She has been to see me again afterwards to ensure I am ok. She is supportive of me having a VB post caesarean as long as baby isn’t breech again.

Sounds like you had great support. Sorry it wasn't the birth you wanted but really glad you are both safe and sound! Enjoy the newborn bubble

I'm off to scrub the skirting boards to see if I can shift this baby 😂

OneMoreCoffee3 · 09/06/2026 12:52

It means it’s still tucked around the back of the baby’s head where it is during pregnancy. It moves around to the front of the baby’s head (anterior) for birth

Great to hear your were so supported and trusted the person caring for you so much. Not the ideal outcome but hopefully you felt in control

Oh this is interesting. I must remember to ask my consultant at my sweep Friday. I've never heard it before.

How far gone are you now again?

Just to update you all that my baby girl was finally born on the 8th June after a 36 hour labour. So in love with her already. Still in hospital for monitoring as it was a high risk birth with some of my health complications and her being breech but we are both doing really well. After all the worries about colostrum collecting - I am managing to breast feed!

Ah congratulations! So happy for you! So happy you managed to start breast feeding too. X

Yes, sounds like you did everything you could and sometimes the call has to be made for cesarean - it's great that everything was tried. The consultant sounds fantastic.

Congratulations again!

Hoping not long to wait here, 5 days overdue now... I can feel baby is really low and I'm getting little twinges but nothing really indicative. Feels so odd when baby moves now, like they are trying to push their way down/out but my body isn't complying!

How is everyone feeling? I've woke up with cramps but nothing more. I had a scan yesterday and baby is growing fine! I'm now 40+1 so feeling quite impatient. I have another sweep tomorrow so hoping for more success.

Nightscroller1 · 11/06/2026 13:44

so what happens if the sweeps don’t work @Notmycuppatea I’m clueless! And when does the next step happen?

I went for a scan yesterday too as measuring 35 weeks, I feel like my bump is going down! Anyway, all good baby measuring at 6 pounds 15oz… im all booked in for Monday got bloods and preop tomorrow.

Feeling good tbh. Although I do feel like my bump is slowly deflating… still not packed my bag yet lol! Also need to dye my hair but waiting to as close to the time as possible.

Your bump actually will look smaller toward the end of pregnancy as the baby moves down further into cervix. People often refer to it as "the Bump dropping".

I got my hair done yesterday so I'm happy to have the baby anyway from now on 😂

39weeks today. My 2year old had a good 4-5 weeks of illness after illness recently and he's been waking a few times a night asking me to lie in his bed. It's a floor bed and I struggle to get back out of it multiple times in the middle of the night so often ended up just staying there til the morning meaning my back is now in agony from him squashing and sleeping on me 😂 I dropped him to the childminder this morning and came home and went back to bed til 12ish. Got up and since then I've been psycho cleaning. Last job of the day is to re-dress the guest bedroom ready for my parents sto come whenever needed and to open the next to me but I'll get my DH to do that because I can't be arsed lifting it.

Sweep tomorrow so I'm secretly hoping that baby will arrive over the weekend 😊 But that might just be wishful thinking.

Notmycuppatea · 11/06/2026 20:13

well I have 2 more booked in and then I guess I'll be induced which I really don'tv want to be but I can have a sweep every 3 days so another one tomorrow. Though I do feel a lot of pressure and cramps down below so I'm hoping it's some kind of progress! You need to pack your bag lol but TBF I have repacked mine 3 times as weather keeps changing! @Nightscroller1

Oh sweep snap @BudgetBusteri hope yours goes well! My roots are awful but I think it will be a post baby treat! I've been cleaning none stop too I just can't rest but I think if I keep moving baby will come 😅

OneMoreCoffee3 · 12/06/2026 07:05

I had my baby at home on my due date ☺️, a bit after midnight today. I had a long latent phase and slow progress (especially for me) because of the babies position and membranes. Eventually, when the waters went, I had a baby within 10 minutes. No stitches, physiological third stage and into my own bed with fresh sheets

I had a little boy so I now have two of each ❤️

I went into labour late on Weds night, very rapidly contractions were frequent and extremely painful, but I wasn't dilated enough for hospital - I didn't know that could happen! Baby was back to back unexpectedly (I wasn't feeling it in my back particularly). By the morning, exhausted, I was begging for an epidural and ended up with a forceps delivery late in the evening. Not as I'd hoped at all! But so glad baby is ok, a lovely little girl.

I feel a bit gutted as if I'd be able to access the birthing pool and pain relief earlier (contractions were every 4 mins very early on) I could have laboured naturally for longer, in a better position, and perhaps avoided all the intervention. I just had no idea contractions could be that frequent without being more dilated!

Just needed to get that out my system! Focusing on lovely little girl now!

sparklerr · 14/06/2026 05:08

Congratulations @IVFbabyanyday and @OneMoreCoffee3 ! ❤️
I also had my baby last night at 39 and 5. Woke at 6am with irregular contractions and some bleeding. They asked me to come in to check the bleeding, which turned out to be the show. When I was getting tidied up after the exam waters popped in the hospital bed and it all ramped up from there!
My experience was a bit like yours @OneMoreCoffee3 only the other way around. I really wanted an epidural from the start but wasn’t dilated enough. Told there was no need to check progress for a few hours as it was my first and would likely take a while. I really wasn’t coping with just the tens so about 2pm they checked again as I was getting quite distressed. Was 7cm! Got the epidural and all went calmly from there. Had an episiotomy, but no other interventions. I could sense the contractions and when to push the whole time. Learned afterwards that baby was back to back, which explained a lot!

To all the other ladies waiting, you can do it!! Definitely advise sticking up for yourself whatever your preferences are, and not being too polite / holding back from requesting what you want. It is the most incredible feeling when baby comes out, and when you meet them for the first time! It is so worth it.

BudgetBuster · 14/06/2026 08:33

Great to see so many babies arrived this week! Congratulations to you all. Hope you all enjoy the newborn bubble and recover well.

I'm 39+3 and still waiting. Hoping today will be the day. I had a sweep Friday and have had had bouts of false labour (an hour or 2 of low level contractions then nothing again for ages) but had a bloody show a few hours ago so hoping that's the beginning of something!

OneMoreCoffee3 · 14/06/2026 21:02

I’m so happy to hear of all the new babies. Please keep the updates coming ☺️

I’m 41 weeks today and still no baby. Declined induction so had monitoring and another sweep today, scan tomorrow and induction booked Thursday at +10, if needed.
Shitting myself to be honest! I really don’t want to give birth at all, epidural bad experience previously, no pain relief bad experience previously. I have never tried a water birth so had this in my head however baby is not playing ball!
Enjoy newborn snuggles - can’t wait for my time

Nightscroller1 · 15/06/2026 20:37

Had my wee one via elective c section this morning… all went well! Quite relaxing experience which sounds surreal to say, given my last time. Got the catheter out but haven’t peed… despite trying! So I have an hour and 20 minutes or it’s going back in. Chilled baby (always the case hospital isn’t it?!) but my goodness did she have a set of lungs when she first came out!

Pregnantera · 16/06/2026 00:02

Congratulations @Nightscroller1.
Good luck with your c-section recovery, I’m one week down the line and it’s hard going especially with a newborn.
