Full term tomorrow! Due 12th June, anyone want to wait for their babies with me?

I’m full term tomorrow with my fourth baby, planning a homebirth. Anyone want to wait for their babies with me? My due date is 12th June. I always found myself in TWW threads when TTC and this feels similar

I’ve finished work and am waiting for the nice weather this weekend to hand-wash and dry all the big items from the loft (car seat, next to me, etc.)

I have a high energy 2 year old who is still breastfed so I have been getting some tightenings but I think it’s just when I’ve been feeding her. She is at nursery today and the bigger two at school so I’m washing some clothes and preparing the house.

It’s so nice to have some time to myself and I’m feeling really quite patient… for now…

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Notmycuppatea thank goodness it’s not just me! I find myself annoyed because I have sacrificed my body, my career and my hobbies to bring this baby into the world and for me it seems like his life is all the same!

BudgetBuster · 01/06/2026 17:54

@notmycupoftea You are absolutely not alone. This weekend I've had a lot of back pain and just full term exhaustion etc. My husband was telling me to sit down and relax yesterday and I literally snapped his head off 😂 He's really taken the reigns with the toddler but the house is urter chaos. I snapped asking him "If I sit down, who is going to scrub the toilets, who is going to clean up the drink someone spilled, who is going to the washing, who is going to empty the dishwasher?"

He's busy playing and tiring out the toddler but just leaving utter carnage and mess everywhere that I have to deal with.

I made everyone leave the house today to avoid mess 😂

IVFbabyanyday · 01/06/2026 18:57

@Pregnantera
I think we are supposed to be resting at this stage as a way of our bodies preparing for what lies ahead

This is such a helpful reminder, thanks. I almost wonder if I've delayed the birth by rushing round trying to be productive with this last bit of time!

I've a friend as my birth partner. She has an important job interview this week so perhaps that will tempt fate for the specific time for baby to arrive! I've privately decided I won't tell her if I do go into labour the night before/on the day - strangely now it's so close I'm comfortable with the idea of doing it alone (but am lucky to have a good maternity dept. really close to home).

Hopefully not long for you now! Your comment at 17.28 made me happy to be single - sorry! But yes to the hormones playing up - randomly cried today but not for any real reason.

@Notmycuppatea
Here's hoping it's soon for you too!

@BudgetBuster
Sounds like you need some kind of giant playpen for husband and toddler to contain the carnage! Can't imagine what it's like with a toddler too - hats off to you. And to @OneMoreCoffee3 !

Gosh, it would be so much easier if you could know exactly when baby would arrive. This is worse than a disappearing Evri delivery!

OneMoreCoffee3 · 01/06/2026 19:00

I’ve been to the toilet a lot today and just had a loose movement. Period pains have been intermittent but really quite settled on the whole this afternoon, just a handful of them. I’m feeling a bit nauseous and tired but then I was up all night so it’s not surprising. Could be all normal pregnancy stuff or the beginning of the beginning

@OneMoreCoffee3
That sounds like at least a sign that the beginning of the beginning is on the way...

Rest up, where possible.

Pregnantera · 01/06/2026 20:17

@IVFbabyanyday I have to admit I am not the best at resting either, the only reason I have sat still today is because I didn’t sleep at all last night. I feel panic to be getting things ready and that I am behind somehow.

I am pleased you have someone to support you and I really hope that labour doesn’t fall on the interview day for you!

He has redeemed himself with cheesecake this evening luckily. Hormones and tiredness are making me a little ratty.

Good morning all, hope you all slept better than I did!!!
I have a sweep this morning (39+1) and the nerves are kicking in. I am having bad cramps and back ache anyway so it should work but… what if it doesn’t?! Or what if it does and it happens too quickly?! What if I can’t do a big enough 💩 this morning and I do one during labour?! I’ve spent the whole pregnancy desperate to give birth on the birth centre (midwife led unit one floor down from the delivery suite) as I’ve never had that experience… but now I’m worried I should just stick to what I know!! Argh!

Pregnantera · Yesterday 07:09

@dinosaurghostcat good morning! I slept a lot better last night but that was catch up from the previous bad night. I heard it can take 48 hours to work so you have time to get a visit to the toilet in. They will have seen it so though in the hospital so try not to overthink it. As for the birth centre - it should be more relaxed than you are used to so hopefully a nice experience. They can always move you to labour ward if it’s needed.

I had awful back pains yesterday evening, I could barely walk. I think my baby must have been sitting on a nerve, ouch! Yet another appointment today with the consultant to make sure that things are still ok now that I have an overdue baby. I always worry at these appointments that something awful will be said. Fingers crossed!

Ohhh lovely stuff, if you are already having aches etc then hopefully the sweep is just a nudge in the right direction. Loads of people poo! You wouldn't even notice anyway so forget about it.

I'd say uts just so close now you are starting to worry but I'm sure the birth centre will be a much calmer environment. Hopefully your little baby will be here by the weekend 😊

Notmycuppatea · Yesterday 08:58

@IVFbabyanydayim sure you will be very supported by the maternity department just make sure your birth plan is clear in case anything goes tits up and you have something to advocate for yourself on and planned in advance as you may not feel up to it when you're in active labour. But I think you will find you will be a lot stronger than you think 🙂

@BudgetBusterive tidied all up and downstairs now so I feel relaxed today. Going to take my dogs on a nice long walk but nervous about going alone!

@Pregnantera@OneMoreCoffee3the back ache is real now I've had it during the night too and TBF it feels pointless being uncomfortable when it feels like it's getting no where. I'd rather it all just happen suddenly and it to be going somewhere. I'm glad your partner redeemed himself! I have midwife today too let us know how your consultant appointment goes.

@dinosaurghostcatoh you aren't the only one nervous about 💩 I had diarrhea other night and thought this is it and nothing. So now I just think my system has built back up! I also noticed the dreaded hemmoroids yesterday, so I'm nervous about pushing with them! Me too I'm desperate to go in birth centre so I'm ramping up my trying now. I'm gonna ask my midwife for a sweep too.

OneMoreCoffee3 · Yesterday 11:29

I had a good night of sleep - like others I’d rather just get on and labour. I booked my 2 year old in for an extra day of nursery because I was nervous about not sleeping again/ labouring but then I wasn’t able to send her. She woke up with a raging UTI, climbing the walls in pain. First dose of antibiotics is in now and she’s settled a bit with regular pain relief and a lot of hydration. The morning was so stressful though that it may take a few days for my nervous system to get back to a calm place ready for labour

Oh no @OneMoreCoffee3this is the last thing you need! Poor baby, I hope she recovers quickly. For both of your sakes!! Hoping you get another nights good sleep too at least 🙏

Your houses all seem in a much better state than mine. My other three don’t go back to school/Pre-School until Thursday so impossible to keep on top of the toys everywhere!

Sweep went ok. Uncomfortable of course but I did take some paracetamol an hour beforehand. I am almost 3cm dilated and the midwife said she could easily break my waters so hoping we get something in the next day or so. My husband is confident it will work but I just feel like it could be another few days of on/off!

Thanks for all your supportive messages re the 💩 situation 🤣

This sounds very promising! Maybe your body will hold on for Thursday though when they are all back to school 😂

Update from the consultant - no signs of labour at all and unable to do a sweep so I have a while to go yet. Back issues are most likely caused by me doing too much. Back again next week for assessment again. I was born two weeks late so I guess my daughter is copying me!

@dinosaurghostcat that sounds like you are on the way towards labour now, hopefully the children are back at school when it does happen. I wouldn’t worry about your house not been in order, I currently have bags of baby clothes in my bedroom and bags of other junk to sort out in my living room.
