Full term tomorrow! Due 12th June, anyone want to wait for their babies with me?

I’m full term tomorrow with my fourth baby, planning a homebirth. Anyone want to wait for their babies with me? My due date is 12th June. I always found myself in TWW threads when TTC and this feels similar

I’ve finished work and am waiting for the nice weather this weekend to hand-wash and dry all the big items from the loft (car seat, next to me, etc.)

I have a high energy 2 year old who is still breastfed so I have been getting some tightenings but I think it’s just when I’ve been feeding her. She is at nursery today and the bigger two at school so I’m washing some clothes and preparing the house.

It’s so nice to have some time to myself and I’m feeling really quite patient… for now…

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

That happened to friend she ordered her car seat but it was missing a part or something she ended up going into labour and had to send her boyfriend to collect a different seat so I'm glad yours has been sorted. I believe that too! Fingers crossed for you xx

Exactly the same thing happened to me. We picked up the car seat and the carry cot weeks ago but no wheels/pram unit. As the due date got closer I was stressing and ringing them 3 times a week for updates and getting nothing. Rang Silver Cross themselves and although they said they couldn’t help me, suddenly the next day my pram had arrived in store. Suspicious much!
At least this baby has held on for her pram to arrive and all has worked out well in the end. I’ve also been told my favourite consultant and midwife are on duty tomorrow together so I am praying for the birth to happen tomorrow now.

I really thought I was revving up to something on Thursday and Friday night but minimal tightenings last night! I’m 39+2 and I now think maybe I will get as far as my sweep and full body massage on Tuesday (39+4). If that day doesn’t push me over the edge then I really am not ready for labour. It will be so funny if this baby stays put until 42 weeks, I’m already so surprised to still be pregnant!

How is everyone else?

Still waiting here - 40+3 today.
Also keep thinking things are revving up then it stops! Not sure the sweep two days ago did anything, although I was a bit crampy afterwards.

Mainly I'm getting concerned about size of baby - I vaguely assumed I'd have a dainty 7lb-er who was a bit early, like me. But at the rate of the last couple of (extra) scans, baby will be 9lb within the next day or so!

Booked induction for 41 weeks, having cancelled the 40 week one.

How's everyone else getting on? Hoping for news!

Nightscroller1 · 07/06/2026 09:18

I’ve got my section booked for 16 June! Would have been 15 June but due to Scotlands public holiday (ridiculous) there’s no bookings on that day. My due date is 19 June!

I am actually really sore… some sharp pains stopping me in my tracks then last night I was woken up with a sore stomach but I think it was wind. Woke up today and still sore but it’s more above my bump rather than in it!

No sign of my plug coming away or anything… better pack my hospital bag!

Pregnantera · 07/06/2026 12:58

Having quite bad cramps since yesterday afternoon, really sharp into the back and happening every 7/8 minutes so went to the hospital to get checked only to be sent home again as not dilating at all. Pains are so bad I can’t sleep through it and I need something stronger than paracetamol to help me. Think my baby is on the way but feeling very scared at the same time. We are now 6 days overdue so it is about time.

My baby is tracking for 9lbs too but a consultant told me they are always over estimated and to expect a little smaller.

Ohhh sounds promising. Lots if people dilate very quick. These contractions are just putting in the groundwork.

Notmycuppatea · 07/06/2026 15:40

@OneMoreCoffee3 ah I have my sweep Tuesday too. I'll be 39+6 so hopefully does something. Though I have felt off today. A lot of pressure down below and feeling like I'm going to come on my period but slightly creamy. Which is a bit strange. But we will see what happens.

@IVFbabyanydayoh good luck with your induction hopefully it goes well or you go into labour beforehand! I wouldn't worry too much about the weight as so many people have told me when I was told baby was small. I have a growth scan on my due date but I don't even want to go as I dont want any stress.

@Nightscroller1good luck too! How exciting to know the day baby will come into this world. Hopefully all goes well. TBF i don't know many people where the plug has gone my sister said hers didn't and so did my mom. But my friends came away he other day so I do feel like it's not 100 percent before labour.

@Pregnanteraaww bless you. That happened to my sister she was having contractions every 4 minutes and wasn't dialating. Her mistake and she says it now was not moving around enough during that time as she was in too much pain, but she said if you can move about. When I was having bad pains, a hot water bottle pressed on my back did wonders. Fingers crossed for you.

Nightscroller1 · 08/06/2026 12:56

@Notmycuppatea how are you feeling today and how are you feeling about your sweep?

I feel like my bump isn’t as big today… probably as the baby is lowering down?! With my last one my plug came away at 33 weeks and they didn’t want to give me an internal as they’d scrape away more of my cervix… its a very different experience this time round.

Last day of work tomorrow! Then I’ll pack my hospital bag…

sparklerr · 08/06/2026 13:04

@Notmycuppatea you described how I’m feeling! Just 39 weeks today but I’ve been getting lots of braxton hicks and period like cramps. Sore enough to wake me but not regular yet. Also feeling lots of pressure around my tailbone which is new, and very weepy and up-and-down. Feels quite like a period is coming! I hope your sweep goes well.

@Nightscroller1 ive had no sign of any mucus plug loss either

OneMoreCoffee3 · 08/06/2026 13:47

I’m getting more uncomfortable, feeling like it could be today/ tomorrow. I’ve never done this bit of pregnancy before with slowly revving up for spontaneous labour, it’s been interesting!

I hope all the other niggly people are surviving the lack of sleep. I’ve been trying to nap today whilst my 2 year old is napping but too uncomfortable to sleep. It doesn’t bother me particularly when going about my day, just when I try to sleep.

I’d rather baby came any time after midnight as today in my exDH’s birthday. I don’t want my older children to have to feel torn between their dad and their sibling sharing a birthday. ExDH is such a lovely man, he’d happily go without to make sure the baby got all the attention every year but I’d just rather avoid it

TBF I'm nervous about my sweep @Nightscroller1but I keep telling myself I'm gonna have to get use to it if I'm going to be checked 4 hourly for dialation 😅 I hope your last day goes well

@sparklerrim sure one day it will lead to something 😅
I totally get how you feel @OneMoreCoffee3i really didn't want my baby being born on a date of someone I hate and I'm so glad he hasnt been 😅 I think I'm just getting more impatient and I'm getting really down about my strtchmarks and body. They're so itchy and I just will miss having the pre baby body as selfish as it sounds 😔 x

Ohhh well it's 9pm now so assuming you haven't had any big movements you're possibly safe from the dreaded exes birthday 😂

My 2 year old had a vomiting bug and now mouth ulcers and a bad cough. I've spent the past 5 nights up with him and I'm.so shattered but too uncomfortable to sleep.

I also discovered the most horrific hemorrhoids a few hours ago which doesn't bode well as I already have a bladder prolapse 😪

I've magically started stressing now that I don't have the bedside cot ir moses basket fully dressed yet (a 2 second job as everything is ready and clean) or that the guest bed isn't dressed because I washed the bedclothes today so obviously I've decided I'll have the baby tonight 😂

Nightscroller1 · 09/06/2026 03:08

I’m doing my usual 3am wake up with a really sore stomach hopefully I get back to sleep before 6am as that was my time yesterday!

I hear you re stretch marks I don’t have them but I have a weird flabby pouch of skin at the bottom of my bump which I can tell is going to be an overhang pouch as it kind of overhangs already and it’s genuinely making me upset. I’ve got a stomach band to wear once I get the okay and I’m hoping that helps. My first my body was back pre pregnancy within a week but the 5 weeks early and being 28 probably helped that!! I know we should be grateful etc but let’s also be realistic it’s a bit rubbish!!

@BudgetBuster hopemyour wee one is okay! The last month my 8 year old has decided she doesn’t like sleeping on her own so I’ve been in with her, which is where I am just now. Great habit to start!

have my last midwife appointment today too and then a preop on teams on Friday, which seems a bit random I just assumed it’d be in person!

Notmycuppatea · 09/06/2026 09:18

Ah the bug is definitely going round @BudgetBusteri know a few children who have had it. Hopefully they feel better. I discovered hemmoroids too the other week. I thought it was my final straw until itchy stretchmarks came! @Nightscroller1ah I was awake too I actually always think is it labour 😅 I ended up with a 5am bowl of cereal. I hope my body bounces back but I just came see the stretchmarks going. Especially with me scratching them so much. I feel an overhang part too!

OneMoreCoffee3 · 09/06/2026 09:24

I think it’s really hard because there’s a social pressure to feel proud of your body and grateful that you have been able to carry a child so there’s little room to grieve the changes without feeling shallow/ ungrateful. It is not easy to see your body rapidly transform and not always in a way you’re happy with. I hope you’re able to grieve it and make peace with it however feels right for you and without guilt ❤️

Underneath my legs have been so itchy and I actually think that might be stretch marks but I can’t really look as I don’t have the flexibility but that’s where I’ve been prone to them before!! The itching tho… cannot wait for the itching to stop.

Notmycuppatea · 09/06/2026 11:15

Exactly I think I am grateful to have carried this baby and maybe I should try to change my mindset it's more positive but it ia hard.

I had my sweep, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I think a PAP smear is more painful. It was fine for me. Cervix is closed and high so booked back in for Friday but she has tried to irritate it a little so fingers crossed. Baby is also back to back! Feel like a long while to go yet lol.

Pregnantera · 09/06/2026 11:29

Just to update you all that my baby girl was finally born on the 8th June after a 36 hour labour. So in love with her already. Still in hospital for monitoring as it was a high risk birth with some of my health complications and her being breech but we are both doing really well. After all the worries about colostrum collecting - I am managing to breast feed!

IVFbabyanyday · 09/06/2026 11:33

Oh congratulations @Pregnantera !

Well done on that long endurance test of a labour! And breastfeeding!

Can I ask - did you have a VB with breech? Did you have to push for it over cesarean if so, or were the midwives happy for it to go ahead? (My baby isn't breech, I'm just curious.)
Obviously no hurry to reply lol, you'll have your hands full! Enjoy all the snuggles! x

Letsskidaddle · 09/06/2026 11:53

@OneMoreCoffee3 - excited for you! Hope it all goes well. Reminds me of the wait for mine - seems 5 minutes ago, not over 20 years. Huge congratulations x

My sweep went well. Cervix is still posterior, 2cm dilated, soft and partially effaced. Doesn’t really mean that much, I could have a baby tonight or in two weeks!

What do you mean by cervix is posterior?
I've never heard of different positions 😂 Does it make a difference?
