I take back what I said about more energy. No work today so I threw the DC at DH as soon as he was home, crawled in to bed for 2 hours, slept through the fire alarm, re-emerged for dinner & just sunk back in to bed while he tackles their bedtime. Incredibly grateful for the man I married right now.

Feeling extremely lucky to get my dream family, but I was most definitely naive as to how hard this pregnancy would be on my body. Think I was more depleted from back to back pregnancy and breastfeeding for the last 5 years than I realized.

@Ncl31im off to Cyprus, just sat-weds. We were hoping for sun but it looks like the weather will be better here!

@howluckyarewethe exhaustion is crazy, you sound very lucky with your DH

@MsPussinBoots ah I love Cyprus, we usually go at least twice a year. We went in February this year. But no more trips abroad until this little one is here now. My gyn consultant has recommended not to fly due to APS and recurrent miscarriages.

yeah I’ve seen the weather isn’t the best over there at the moment, it’ll still be better than here though, warmer regardless of the rain

rach971 · 19/05/2026 20:38

@howluckyarewe That sounds lush, my partner would never do that 😂

Booking appointment done and dusted today. It was only 45 minutes, she didn't ask me that many questions really compared to what I expected. Got my yellow book and next appointment date (16 weeks), and told I'll get a letter for a consultant appointment round 16 weeks too. She even said I might get my c-section date at that appointment, which would be nice

ElectricWatch · 20/05/2026 02:11

I have my 12 week scan in the morning. This is my 4th pregnancy, none made it to this point before. Anxious just isn't the word! I'm 40 and these were my last 2 embryos, both were fine at 8 week scan so praying all will be well xxxx

howluckyarewe · 20/05/2026 08:29

@rach971 think he feels guilty for talking me in to this. 😂 Not that I took much convincing but still.

@ElectricWatch best of luck with your scan today. And twins! Wow that's incredible.

Ncl31 · 20/05/2026 09:21

@ElectricWatch good luck with your scan today. Praying everything is okay for you.
Mine is a week today and like yourself I’ve never got to that point before.
I do have a reassurance scan at EPU tomorrow morning, the girls there offered an extra one to get my anxiety through to next week.

@33Carr that is so awful. Sending love ❤️‍🩹

Ncl31 · 20/05/2026 14:39

@33Carr oh goodness I’m so sorry, I hope you’re being well looked after. Take care of yourself

FastFish1993 · 20/05/2026 19:26

So sorry to read this @33Carr , thinking of you xxx

SunshineRose12 · 21/05/2026 06:55

@33Carr I’m so sorry, please take care of yourself.

Do you mind me asking if you had any signs? I’m 9+2, and had horrific sickness since 6 weeks, however it’s completely stopped for the last couple of days. For want of better words I feel as well as I did pre pregnancy. I’m really worried this is a sign I’ve lost the baby. I’m currently on holiday (abroad) so can’t get a scan and I’m really worried.

Everything I’ve read says sickness peaks in week 8/9 and improves around week 12, so I’m too early for this to be good news (I think).

I’m no expert as I’ve only had one baby but it’s super normal for symptoms to change, come and go throughout first trimester. Mine completely stopped at 10 weeks with my daughter and remember feeling anxious something was wrong, but she was absolutely fine. This is about the time the placenta takes over and hormones are balancing out so it super normal to notice changes in your symptoms.
when are you back from your holiday? Maybe a scan on your return will ease your worries?

Thank you - this is really good to hear.

I’m back on Sunday, so going to try and get a scan for the Monday. Hoping it’s possible as it’s a bank holiday.

Sounds like a good plan. I’m going to go for an early scan on Monday too. Will be 9 weeks exactly so hoping it will be good knees and get me through to the 12 week scan. It’s such an uneasy time isn’t it.

frolickinglamb · 21/05/2026 11:29

@SunshineRose12 good news! Not knees 😂

PhoenixSTL · 21/05/2026 11:39

Anxieties are high this morning. Got more spotting this morning, without the BM this time. So panicked and called the GP to ask if they can refer me to EPU today. I'm meant to be going away on holiday for a week tomorrow, and now I'm terrified to go.

Of course, today is the day when my partner has had to travel to another city for work, his mum (our usual childcare) had a major operation on Monday so is in hospital so can't rely on her to pick up our son if I run late.

Just had a call from the GP, who's going to call EPU and see if they can do anything today or tomorrow.

SunshineRose12 · 21/05/2026 11:47

@PhoenixSTL fingers crossed they can see you today. Will be nice to put your mind to rest before you travel.

Despite how I’m feeling, I would still say go
on holiday. Sadly at this stage in our pregnancies everything is outside of our control and even with miscarriages at this stage, I understand there is very little they can do to stop nature taking its course. Even if I have lost this little bean, whether or not I’d been on holiday wouldn’t have changed the outcome (if you see what I mean).

PhoenixSTL · 21/05/2026 11:51

The holiday is complicated. My partner can't come with us anymore, cause of his mum being in hospital. So just me and my son, going on holiday with my friends.

If the worst happens, I know that my son won't leave my side cause he's so shy around these friends. And I won't have my partner with me for support.

PhoenixSTL · 21/05/2026 12:10

Scan booked in for tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, not at my local hospital, otherwise I'd have to wait until Saturday. So an hour drive away, in the wrong direction of our holiday destination.

But feeling grateful to have the appointment, and hoping I'll get some much needed reassurance

hollyhocks2 · 21/05/2026 16:38

@PhoenixSTL will be thinking of you tomorrow. I had a lot of bleeding with my successful pregnancy (without painful cramps).

I’m sure all will be ok @SunshineRose12 but it must be hard having to wait. I hope you can be seen on Monday, my local private place is open at weekends.

I’m 12 weeks today. Hard to feel celebratory about it until my dating scan next Friday. Hope the week doesn’t drag too much. Busy weekend at least.
