Bit the bullet and told work today, was sick of feeling anxious about it. My manager and project manager were genuinely so happy for me. I phrased it all horribly at the beginning of the call and my manager thought I was handing in my notice, so she was very relieved. I definitely should have rehearsed what I was going to say 😅

howluckyarewe · 04/06/2026 17:48

Glad to hear that all the work conversations are going well! I've only told my direct manager so far, but will put in the HR notice mid June after my official dating scan.

We had a private check today before our holidays and bubs was waving at us. 🥹 All healthy, measuring 12wks1day with a EDD of Dec 16th. That's a little ahead of my dates, so think it's another mammoth babe. Sonographer got a clear shot and thinks it's another boy! She said it's 80-90% accurate with the angle she got.

Niftymum88 · 04/06/2026 19:05

I’m so glad I’m self employed.
no one should ever feel anxious or nervous about telling their employer, I bet men don’t feel like that 😕

Alwaysgrowing · 05/06/2026 06:44

Hi, it's nice to be out in the open.
I finally bought some nursing bras and they are so much more comfortable, should have got some months ago. I also ordered a pair of jojomammababe maternity jeans from vinted. Last pregnancy I bought some frugi maternity dresses. I got them out. They're more comfy than non maternity clothes but I've gone up a couple of dress sizes so they might get uncomfortable soon. I just need a couple of maternity leggings now and I'll be sorted.

Are there nursing bras you'd or anyone else would recommend? So many brands and some seem to have mixed reviews. Would love any recommendations.

I told my line managers pretty much straight away and they were happy for me. I asked they keep it confidential which they have respected that. I find it easier for the main bosses to know even if no-one else does so I don't need to stress about going to appointments or whatever.

Speaking of maternity wear, I'm 11+2 today and I've already brought out the maternity leggings, shorts and trousers. The bloat is unreal so I can't fit into any of my normal clothes and honestly im much more comfortable with the looser clothes. I've got a wedding today and I even bought some maternity knickers (never have before) so they would go right over my belly and not dig in across the middle and be uncomfortable all day.

I also am eager for the 12wk scan next week to make sure all in still well with baby and I feel more comfortable sharing. Because I don't know if it's just bloat or an earlier bump being baby#2 but I'm finding it harder to hide too.

Well done on work conversations everyone! 💪

is anyone else feeling weird aches in their lower stomach? I’m imagining it’s just growing type pains as it’s not super painful, more like little stretching and pulling sensations but pretty low down. It is making me anxious though but logically trying to think about how much growing the uterus is doing, it’s bound to be a little uncomfortable! 🥲

I'm getting twinges, though sometimes it turns out to be gas 🤣

Yes I’m getting stretching twinges in that lower area. Have been for a week or so.

Alwaysgrowing · 05/06/2026 11:01

I've gone for m and s bras, I almost always get them from there. In my first pregnancy I bought some jojomammababe sleep bras and they were great for leaky boobs at night, because you can put breast pads in then. Esspecaly if you breastfeed, as there soft and stretchy, not at all supportive for daytime use but stop milk going all over the bedding and clothes.

OlivejuiceU2 · 05/06/2026 19:56

I’ve told work this week too. I’ve lost a lot of weight from sickness, around half a stone and now have an obvious bump no matter what I wear. I’m only just getting to 14 weeks as well. I was dreading it but has gone fine, my manager was very happy for me. Did get a very strange reactions from one of the other managers but he generally has anger issues about anything nice for other people anyway.

has anyone started discussing names? Me and partner have a boy name already.

Yep we’ve talked about names and have already settled on a name for a boy but still unsure of a girl’s name as there’s a few we like.

Aprahel87 · 06/06/2026 09:50

We have two top options for boy and girl, so when we meet the little peanut we will see which name fits them best 😃

NewAgeDawning · 06/06/2026 13:20

Youre doing well on boy names! We've always struggled with those and have so many girl names but we're pretty certain im expecting a boy so need to decide

OlivejuiceU2 · 06/06/2026 14:19

Yep we also think boy! I don’t know why just a feeling. I think that’s why I feel better that we have agreed a name. We did the same with DD and it helps it all feel more real. We are not telling anyone though.

Lookingtogrowthefamily · 06/06/2026 14:31

Has anyone’s symptoms started to ease off yet? I’m still feeling nauseous throughout the day, especially in the evenings and just shattered. Waiting for that second trimester glow up 😅.
We have a girl name that we would use if a girl, and it’s been the same on the last two pregnancies. If it’s a boy I think we’ll struggle. We dont plan to find out though x

SunshineRose12 · 06/06/2026 15:22

@Lookingtogrowthefamily still feeling pretty rough too - think I’m 11+4. Really hopeful this ends soon. Starting to feel pretty fed up 😢

SunshineRose12 · 06/06/2026 15:29

What’s everyone wearing at the moment? With the weather turning my floaty summer dresses aren’t suitable and my jeans are really uncomfortable now. I bought some pregnancy leggings but they have the over the bump bit and I don’t have enough bump. I seem to be in an awkward position where normal clothes don’t fit but pregnancy clothes don’t fit yet either!

Ncl31 · 06/06/2026 16:31

@SunshineRose12 I’ll a little like that too.
I’ve ordered some maternity jeans from Vinted as I live in jeans usually.
but I’ve actually got a pair of sweaty Betty maternity trousers with the panel and I’ve been wearing them since 11 weeks, they’re super comfortable. But a little spenny at £65, hence Vinted for the rest!

how do you girls feel about a WhatsApp group?
it’ll be easier to stay up to speed with everything

Ncl31 · 06/06/2026 16:34

I have set this up….
I have put on to be accepted by admin so we don’t end up with random people.
if we keep an eye on people who maybe aren’t active, then can remove them if they’re not actively involved. To try and keep any bots out

I went to lie down for half an hour earlier and woke up 3 hours later. Luckily DD is 12 and barely missed me, but for the first time I've panicked about being alone with a newborn. I'm a lot older than last time!

frolickinglamb · 06/06/2026 18:03

ive just ordered some Gap Jeans. They’re called ‘easy’ jeans and they’re all elasticated on the waist. They’re super comfy and will easily work under bump but fit really well now too.

and the name thing, this time we came up with 2 names and I wrote in brackets (twin names) and then found out it’s actually twins!! Will be so crazy if we end up with the right genders for them.

@Ncl31 do we just click the link to join?

frolickinglamb · 06/06/2026 18:09

@Ncl31 i guess the only issue with WhatsApp is we lose the anonymity which I know a lot of ladies feel more comfortable with?

Kate543 · 06/06/2026 18:23

Oh I e requested to join the WhatsApp, I’m much better at being active on there than here 😂
