Hi everyone, checking back in to this thread. I had to unwatch the last 2 weeks as I was just so so anxious.
I’m sorry to read the update of losses and congrats to those who have had their 12w scans by now.
I had mine this morning, and all went well thankfully - I was fully convinced it would be bad news.
My EED has changed to the 8th Dec now, which is actually when I gave birth last year to our second. I was shocked to hear the date but I’m having a bit of comfort from it tbh, feel like he’s looking over us 💙.
I’ve been booked an early anatomy scan for when I’m 16 weeks (3 weeks tomorrow), so praying everything looks well during the scan.

Hope everyone is okay xx

wonderlust07 · Yesterday 14:12

I am okay today but generally my sickness is getting worse not better.

I have reserved nursery place as soon as 12 week scan was done. They have a 2.5 year waitlist but do give priority to siblings so we're all good but wanted to let them know asap.

Is anyone else still suffering with nausea / vomiting? I feel like mine is getting worse each week now 🤢

I have hg .. even on anti sickness still throwing up and just seems be getting worse. 10 weeks today and honestly miserable .. feel awful saying that because I’m so so lucky to be pregnant. Hoping the second trimester is easier

Alwaysgrowing · Yesterday 14:50

I don't have nausea, but I thought my fatigue was easing around 11 weeks but I'll be 14 tomorrow and it's been bad for the last week. I thought it was the heat, but it's cooler today, and if anything I'm more sleepy. Argued with my husband when he suggested some excersises might make be good for me. I did like 10 minutes this morning and I'm more sleepy. My arms feel fatigued when I'm spending too long moving things or even tying my hair up when I'm in fatigue state. It's not 24/7 but it's been most of today. I had some energy when I woke up for just under 2 hours, then I had a nap in the car after lunch before I drove to collect toddler.

Hi!

Very late to the party - but just had my 12 week scan and all looked good. This is pregnancy number 1 so everything feels very new and lots to learn!

unfortunately have HG, so can relate to everyone with the horrible nausea and vomiting and complete fatigue. Really hoping it goes away.

Bomatoes · Yesterday 15:36

Scan went well, baby even gave us a little thumbs up. Was expecting bad news, so took me a minute to register what I was seeing.
Est due date moved up to 14th Dec ❤️

Em3009 · Yesterday 16:46

Oh no I’m sorry to hear quite a few of you are still suffering too! I’m 13 weeks on Thursday so praying for a 2nd trimester miracle 😅

like you say we feel so grateful for this baby but I just didn’t expect it to be this rough so early on!

PhoenixSTL · Yesterday 16:47

Hi all,

Just popping back in to say thank you for all your support through this pregnancy. This is a lovely group of mums, and i wish you all the best in your pregnancies.

Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage on Saturday, and it was confirmed at EPU this morning. Just resting up at the moment, as still feeling a bit rough from it all.

But didn't want to just disappear without wishing you all the best. Take care, all.

Lookingtogrowthefamily · Yesterday 17:56

Has anyone had a ‘higher risk’ of Downs, Patau’s or Edward’s syndrome from their combined test?

Got my 12 week scan next week and starting to worry.

howluckyarewe · Yesterday 20:38

@PhoenixSTL thinking of you, what a rough journey motherhood can be. 💔

I’ve not even opted for the tests.
I’ve never had them with any of my other children, I’m very much a see what happens person 🙈

NewAgeDawning · Today 01:12

@SunshineRose12i wouldnt. The test has a high fallibility rate. Ive had a false low risk before and know of someone whos just had a false high risk. Can you go for a nipt instead?

Alwaysgrowing · Today 05:49

@PhoenixSTL sorry for every. I'm 14 weeks today and have my first scan. I'm pretty nervous. I'm also in planning mode and I'll be happy to have an official due date ( all going well) and set a provisional maternity leave date plus organise my annual leave. I have a few weeks I can take so will probably tag them on before maternity leave and go off from October half term.

Ncl31 · Today 08:08

@SunshineRose12 this is the first pregnancy that made it as far as the dating scan. I opted for the combined test and mine have came back as low risk. sorry I can’t give you any further insight. It’s not as low as one of the girls from work but I’m 10 years order than her so I’d fully expect my risk to be slightly higher.
The midwife sonographer discussed it all again with me during the scan so I could opt in or out right up until that point. They also done the bloods after the scan, she said when some people see the NT test is “normal” on scan they opt not to have it done.

i chose to have it done personally on the grounds that I trust the NHS and they wouldn’t offer something that was going to harm you or baby, it’s relatively non-invasive other than a quick blood sample. Obviously just my opinion and everyone has their reasons for opting in or out.

@PhoenixSTL so so sorry. lots of love to you xxxxxx

hollyhocks2 · Today 13:01

As it happens I've just had a call from the midwife to say my results have come back that the baby is high chance for having Down's, 1 in 63. Digesting this and taking into account the comments above about accuracy (which she said herself on the phone). Have opted for NIPT. Hard to know what to think about it all really. I've been through a lot and just want this baby to have every chance of thriving.

Alwaysgrowing · Today 13:27

Hi, my scan put me at 14+3, which is the 28th November. I'm so relieved everything is fine and it was lovely to see there's a baby in there. I think I'll stay here though as allthough it's my official date, I don't believe it as I never had shorter than average periods plus my app which tracked my periods put me at 8th December, then the midwife worked it out from my lmp as 2nd December... I'm not bothered now, but I do think as my scan was late it's less accurate, baby is just growing quickly. She's taken enough of my energy! Allthough it's only changed by a few days it pushes my ewd a week earlier, this effects maternity pay a little as for me a do part time work plus overtime and the pay is calculated based on a 3 month average pay from a set number of weeks before ewd. I need to sit down with my manager and work it all out.
