@SunshineRose12 It was 3 days for me when I had it last, but like it was said before, only if something was wrong. Otherwise youd get a letter in the post within 7-10 days. I am on the R445 pathway this time round (or straight into NHS NIPT) and I got told 7-10 days for that too but apparently its much quicker.

Anyone else doing the NHS NIPT? I am also wanting to do a private one, for additional conditions and microdeletions.

@Em3009 @pastaislife @NewAgeDawning @SunshineRose12 thank you for your messages ladies. Genuinely nice to hear I’m not the only one. Why do the weeks feel so slow in the first trimester.
I guess because there’s two babies, feels so lucky and too good to be true. Start a new job next week so I’m hoping it’s the distraction I need x

SunshineRose12 · 30/05/2026 19:06

I know what you mean, I already feel like I’ve been pregnant forever 😂

I’m also definitely looking pregnant (despite only being about 11 weeks, and first baby). Clearly I just have rubbish tummy muscles 😂.

I can still button up my jeans, which is useful, but I wore a tight tailored dress on Thursday and there is a definite curve on my tummy. Since it’s appeared my husband is constantly touching my tummy and stroking the bump. Which I’m finding endearing most of the time, but whilst I was feeling a bit nauseous the other evening I had to say, please stop touching me, which I felt a bit bad about.

Kate543 · 30/05/2026 19:21

@NewAgeDawning i had the nhs nipt on Tuesday and had the results back low risk for everything :)

part of me keeps thinking about the private nipt but because I’m nosy and last time we did that and found out the gender 🙈

NewAgeDawning · 30/05/2026 19:56

@Kate543thats a relief! And good to hear they came back so quickly. I think ill only begin enjoying this pregnancy properly once ive had all results back if im honest. I could tell the gender at my 12 week scan, pretty sure I saw a willy. I was hoping for a girl but ill love this boy as much, too.
Are you wanting to find out the gender this time then? Xx

Kate543 · 30/05/2026 20:07

@NewAgeDawning ironically I’ve been toying with keeping it a surprise because we already have one of each but curiosity is already getting me 🙈

NewAgeDawning · 30/05/2026 20:47

@Kate543we didnt find out with our first and it was genuinely an interesting experience not knowing, if that helps at all.

Ncl31 · 31/05/2026 08:52

@frolickinglamb I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. But as others have said, lots of us felt the and and I unfortunately can’t give you any advice. Other than try to keep distracted and busy. The anxiety I had the day before the scan was next level, I took myself for a walk on the beach and avoided everything and everyone as I felt it was all too much.

@SunshineRose12 i had the combined test and was told I’d get a phonecall usually within a few days if they were worried. If not the results would show on badger within 2 weeks.

Alwaysgrowing · 31/05/2026 08:55

My gardening project is growing mango trees from stones from supermarket Mangos. They make pretty houseplants. I did 2 last year. One died, one I put outside too early in the spring and it got frost damage. The new growth died and fell off, but it's sent out another shoot! And here is the new tree and two more stones to cut the seeds out of.

Anyone else have a scan tomorrow / next week? Ahhh suddenly feeling nervous.. I haven't had any reassurance scans and had a little spotting at 9 weeks.. I've gone from being totally chill to omg it's actually happening tomorrow.

SausageRoll90 · 31/05/2026 09:56

Hi guys I had my private scan yesterday and all is good 🙏🏻 baby measuring spot on at 10+3, wiggly little thing with waving hands and a lovely heartbeat! I am SO relieved. I know things can still change but for me this 9-10weeks was a huge milestone. Although now I feel absolutely exhausted from the anxiety I've been feeling the last few days. Counting down to the 12weeks NHS scan now on the 11th June 🙏🏻🤞🏻

Alwaysgrowing · 31/05/2026 10:39

Sorry, wrong thread with the mango plants. 🙈

I’ve got a private one today and my nhs 12 week next week. I always feel nervous beforehand and my husband always remarks I go quiet when we’re in the waiting room. It’s normal to feel anxious I’ve been told. Let us know how you get on.

Aw that’s lovely, pleased for you. Hoping the next scan comes quickly for you, not long to go now.

@SausageRoll90 amazing news! I'm the day after you with my official dating scan. Finding it hard to wait that long too.

@Alwaysgrowing I quite liked the mango plants! My garden project was growing enough radishes to pickle and jar for the year - morning sickness brought me so low they all rotted before I started feeling better. 🥲 Next year!

Sorry, wrong thread with the mango plants. 🙈

I enjoyed it anyway! Love a gardening project, especially when pregnancy and mangoes is already a match made in heaven for me 😂

Similar, grew radishes, by the time they were at their best to pick I was at my worst to pick them. They've all bolted now

Alwaysgrowing · 31/05/2026 14:23

Funnily enough we picked the radishes today and planted beetroot and pakchoi in the pots they were in.

ElectricWatch · 31/05/2026 16:16

Im due dec 1st with di/di twins. Everything looked ok at dating scan. Yesterday had some bleeding, red when I wiped after peeing, 3 times and brown spotting since. Midwife said to monitor then if it gets heavy to go to a&e as its the weekend. I decided to wait it out and perhaps call epu mon morning. Worried sick as ive had 3 previous losses. Hoping its just cervix irritation :(

howluckyarewe · 31/05/2026 16:40

@ElectricWatch I'm sorry to hear that, I can imagine how stressful that is. Is there limited staff at your EPU during the weekend? Not sure how it works in the UK - ours are open for self referral 24/7 in Ireland. Hopefully just irritation, and they can set your mind at ease soon.

Ncl31 · Yesterday 09:47

@Alwaysgrowing i quite enjoyed your mango tree!

I may be quiet this week, we’re on annual leave. Should have been in Florida… except we’re up by the Scottish Borders in a tent in the rain!
Then on Thursday we’re off to Edinburgh for a night, we may pop to the zoo.

Disappointed with the weather as I’ve signed up to 60 miles in June to raise money for Tommy’s as they’ve been such a massive help to me during my miscarriages and this pregnancy too.

Alwaysgrowing · Yesterday 10:23

We have looked around a preschool for my middle child. He'll start school September 27, so around the same time I'll go back to work. Currently he goes to the hospital nursery where I work. But when I'm on maternity leave it will be more convinenit to have him in the local preschool. Plus they're advertising spaces available. Unlike some of you, my area has a declining birth rate so there seems to be plenty of nursery spaces at the moment.

He's quite settled at the nursery he is in, allthough the novelty has worn off and he'd enjoy doing something new, I'm not sure it's too much change when dealing with a new baby. My eldest did great, started school when he was born...

Is anyone else still suffering with nausea / vomiting? I feel like mine is getting worse each week now 🤢

howluckyarewe · Yesterday 11:14

@ElectricWatch how are you feeling? ❤️

@Ncl31 you're braver than I am! I cancelled all camping plans for the summer when I realised I'd need to nip out to the bathroom 3 times a night. 😂 Fair play to you on the fundraiser too!

@Alwaysgrowing my soon to be middle will be starting playschool Sept 2027 too. He didn't have a spot in childcare though until then, and currently costs €175 a week for 5 days in a private minder. 🥲

@Em3009 I'm 11 weeks today & still getting sporadic bouts of it. The placenta kicking in has helped, and I forced myself to stop eating only carbs - even though protein still gives me major food aversion. Trying to get minimum 20g per meal and feel it's made a big difference.

Same for me. Mines got worse over the last couple of weeks. Eating little but often is the only thing that’s helped so far.
