Does anyone else have headaches? Hoping these leave soon. Worried about taking paracetamol… it’s approved as safe but they also say to take as little as possible 🤔.
I had the NIPT so I know the sex: two girls!
I’ve really popped and need a new wardrobe.

Ahh exciting two girls!
I found out on Monday I’m having twins too, so excited to find out what I’m having. I already have a daughter so atleast one boy would be lovely but don’t mind really. Will likely wait for the scan

Growingaseed · 28/05/2026 19:08

Hi all, 12w scan went really well ☺️.
Baby wasn't playing ball to start with but managed to get some good measurements /pics at the end. All screening tests came out low risk too. Feeling very relieved and excited after the scan! 💛

Ncl31 · 28/05/2026 20:04

Excellent news on the scans today. It’s all very exciting for us all now.

I have my niece staying over tonight and I purposely left our scan photo out. She got extremely excited and squealed. She’s 12 and has 2 cousins already but they live down south so she only sees them 2-3 times per year. She has said she is super excited and would really like it to be a girl.

ooh! Are yours fraternal? Mine are identical, so it was two of one or the other.

OlivejuiceU2 · 28/05/2026 21:43

Had my scan today too and all is great with baby even though very cheeky and didn’t want to sit still or lie in a position that they could get measurements. Also had my appointment with the consultant who agreed my elective section, the relief was so great I burst into tears. Had a very difficult birth with my first so I’m hoping a planned section will be better even though I know comes with risks and a difficult recovery.

NewAgeDawning · 28/05/2026 23:32

@OlivejuiceU2ccongratulations on a successful scan. Glad you got that you want and asked for - i think the happy tears are very much warranted. Sometimes we have to fight for what we want and that just makes things so much more difficult. I hear planned sections have a much higher satisfaction and recovery rate than emergency ones, so dont assume itll be an arduous road ahead xx

SausageRoll90 · 28/05/2026 23:47

@bluepurplegreen I've been having headaches these last few days. I just can't shift it. I am assuming the heat / humidity has something to do with it. I'm definitely hydrated, I've had a little caffeine and some paracetamol - although admittedly I'm trying not to take too many, just enough to keep the headache manageable. I'm a migraine sufferer so I know ibuprofen of the best medication for me but obviously not an option.

Actually this weather has made me feel quite unwell. Bit spaced out, dizzy/light headed on standing or moving around too much and just generally unwell..I came home from work early on Tuesday and today (I don't work Wednesdays and thankfully my toddler was having a chilled day so I was able to rest a bit). I'm going to call in sick tomorrow to fully rest because I think my body is telling me to take it easy. I checked my BP and it's completely normal so I don't know what else it could be other than the mix of hormones & heat.

NewAgeDawning · 29/05/2026 00:55

I think its the atmospheric pressure changes. There were thundstorms where I am and before that I felt terrible. Took a 2 (!) hour nap in the pm and woke up not knowing who I was.
Hopefully we'll all feel better once this weather goes back to normal !

I don’t know yet, my 12 week scan is on 18th June so will hopefully find out then.

hollyhocks2 · 29/05/2026 11:14

It is just wonderful reading everyone’s happy updates!! So incredible. All these little miracles. I had my scan this morning and it was perfect! Saw heartbeat straight away, great view of everything else, everything is on track. They agreed I’m measuring exactly 13+1 but still said my due date was 3 Dec instead of 4 December. How does that work??

Anyway I’m just amazed really. Congratulations to everyone who has passed this milestone. Well done us ❤️ special mention to @Ncl31- although I do have one daughter, like you I’ve had 3 consecutive losses so I know that to get to the dating scan is surreal and momentous. I hope you can exhale a bit now.

pastaislife · 29/05/2026 11:23

Yay for good scans! Though funny all the babies yesterday were being cheeky and wouldn’t sit still for measurements 🤣 I’ve also woken up today with a cracking headache, I agree it must be the weather and humidity/thunderstorms. Apparently pressure changes can cause bad headaches. Hope everyone feels better soon xx

@SausageRoll90 the weather can’t have helped. Hopefully your headache has gone now and @pastaislife too. I’ve had to take a few days off work with them. Hoping that’s the last one!

Ncl31 · 29/05/2026 20:39

@hollyhocks2 thank you, I’ve certainly felt better than I have in a long while anxiety wise. I knew pregnancy after loss would be tricky but I didn’t expect the first trimester to be quite so difficult. I’ve felt true hope and excitement the last few days.
just 3 short weeks to go until we find out if we’re having a boy or a girl…

@KelpieTheFirst we’re official due date twins! Although I’ll be having a section so I’ll deliver before then I’m sure of that

howluckyarewe · 29/05/2026 20:51

Congratulations to everyone who's had good scan news in the last few days. So lovely to hear the due dates! Making me so curious when this one will make their entrance. If I could pick the exact date I'd love 12/12, but alas my hospital doesn't do inductions on a Saturday.

frolickinglamb · 30/05/2026 04:37

any tips from ladies who have had a lovely 12 week scan this week? I’m so anxious somethings going to go wrong by the time I get to mine. I have absolutely no real reason, had a perfect 9 week scan on Monday, still having symptoms, no bleeding/ pain.. just the constant nagging feeling that something could still go wrong. Wish I could just relax and enjoy this time.

Em3009 · 30/05/2026 06:34

@frolickinglamb i could have written this exact post a few weeks ago… I don’t have any tips but I’m sorry you feel that way, it’s an awful feeling isn’t it! All I can say is that as soon as we saw the baby pop up on the scan and saw the heartbeat I felt instant relief. So much so we’ve felt confident to tell people this week… I hope you feel the same too afterwards 🩷

Ah I’m so sorry @frolickinglamb, I’ve felt exactly the same way and sure other ladies here have too. Especially as I stopped feeling sick around 9 weeks! Was truly convinced something was wrong, but everything was fine. I’ve seen tips online around mantras such as ‘I’m pregnant and all is well until I am told otherwise’ to try and reassure your brain that you have no proof anything is wrong. Try and keep busy if you can and feeling well enough, I think I really struggled to think of a different outcome to my previous loss, but this really is a different pregnancy and new chance. Lots of love xx

NewAgeDawning · 30/05/2026 08:31

@frolickinglambim sorry youre feeling that way - I totally relate. I dont think ill relax fully until baby is here, in my arms. Its normal. The fact youre having symptoms is a strong indicator all is well, and youve seen baby already with heartbeat. Chances are strongly in favour of another successful scan.

SunshineRose12 · 30/05/2026 08:32

@frolickinglamb I’m 10+4 and my symptoms have been really limited since 9 weeks, and at the moment everything seems fine. Honestly, try not to worry x

To the ladies who have had their scans, if you had the combined test for downs / Edwards syndrome etc, do you get the results immediately or do you have to wait to hear back?

Em3009 · 30/05/2026 08:34

@SunshineRose12 i got told it would be 24-48 hours and that I would get a phone call if anything was identified and if not they would just be posted to the app :) im sure all trusts probably do different though! X

SunshineRose12 · 30/05/2026 08:45

@Em3009 thanks, really helpful to know, and nice it’s so quick to hear back.

Once I get through my scan and know baby is healthy, it’ll feel like a big milestone.
