10 weeks today, and really thinking of everyone who's had bad news on this journey.

@hollyhocks2 I look visibly pregnant too, to the point my 4 year old asked me if I have a baby in my belly, and people have been staring trying to figure it out. 😅 Waiting until the dating scan to announce as well, because I feel there's no guarantees the first trimester will be straight forward.

I've decided to opt in for private maternity care this time, which I haven't done before. My last baby was macrosomiac, and I was already getting stressed about the induction conversations this time via the EPU. If it is recommended baby comes early after the growth scans, I want to make sure I'll have a doctor that's listening to me when developing the plan. Excruciatingly expensive though, and not covered by my insurance. 🥲

frolickinglamb · 25/05/2026 07:47

@hollyhocks2 people have guessed I am too and still only 9 weeks.. such an anxious time but my husband has been lovely this time around. So supportive and has enough faith everything will be okay for the 2 of us.

i have my first private scan this afternoon, really hope it’s good news 🤞

Ncl31 · 25/05/2026 08:11

@frolickinglamb I’m pleased your husband is being supportive.
my husband wouldn’t believe I was pregnant to begin with. I think after 3 consecutive losses he was trying to guard himself too and hadn’t realised it was coming across so cold.
he’s been brilliant these past couple of weeks though. I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and our dating scan on Wednesday.

good luck for your scan this afternoon, I hope everything is well, I’m sure it will be

Thank you, will let you know later.

my husband and I were the other way round this time, I was in such shock for a few weeks, maybe protecting my heart from any losses. And then he was super excited from the start.

SunshineRose12 · 25/05/2026 13:58

Can’t believe I’m writing this, but it was good news at my scan.

I was so sure that I had miscarried with the way all my symptoms suddenly stopped at 9 weeks. The lady in the appointment before me got bad news so I was already crying before the appointment, as I was so overwhelmed and nervous. So when the sonographer said there was a heartbeat and turned the screen so we could so our baby I was over the moon.

They’ve said wait for the NHS 12 weeks scan to confirm but they think I might be measuring about 5 days ahead so 10+4 rather than 9+6.

Actually apologised to my husband for the stress I’ve put him through over the last few days 🤦‍♀️

It’s taken us almost a year to conceive this baby so just so incredibly grateful our little bean seems to be sticking ❤️

That fills me with so much joy 🥹
and reassurance.
ill be 10 weeks in two days and my symptoms just aren’t there today at all. After weeks of feeling like poo.

im so happy for you 🥰

SunshineRose12 · 25/05/2026 14:33

@Niftymum88 yes try not to worry! Between weeks 6 and 9 I felt horrific, regularly being sick and if not actually vomiting, then a constant nausea, on top of that constipation and exhausted. Literally overnight everything stopped.

I’d also really gone off tea and have since started enjoying tea again!

So hopefully we’re just lucky that we start to feel the benefit of the placenta working a bit sooner ❤️

howluckyarewe · 25/05/2026 14:33

@SunshineRose12 what lovely news. And closer to the second trimester! 👏🏼

Can I ask is anyone getting / gotten the NIPT? Considering it this time for peace of mind. My DH & I were in our late twenties with our two boys, and the chance of a chromosomal issue seemed a lot lower than. Only early 30's but I think the risk still goes up?

frolickinglamb · 25/05/2026 14:33

@SunshineRose12 oh I’m so happy for you!!

I’ve been for my scan too, measuring perfectly at 9 weeks exactly… and it’s twins!!! The craziest thing is I’ve had a strong feeling about twins since I found out but never imagined it’d be true 🥹🥹

howluckyarewe · 25/05/2026 14:34

@frolickinglamb double the good news! I'm so jealous when I hear twins, despite most definitely not being able for four DC. 😂

SunshineRose12 · 25/05/2026 14:40

@frolickinglamb OMG wow - congratulations!!!

When the sonographer said there’s ’only one baby in there’ my husband said, ‘that’s good’ 😂

Twins will be an amazing adventure though!

SunshineRose12 · 25/05/2026 14:47

@frolickinglamb yes I’m going to have the NIPT. Planning to have the combined test as part of the NHS 12 week scan. If they (NHS) pick up any anomalies they offer the NIPT or an alternative test on the NHS.

If all comes back clear on the NHS combined test we’ll then pay privately for NIPT (as it’s more accurate than combined test - the NHS just don’t do offer it routinely due to cost).

You can also find out the gender as part of NIPT, so we’ll do that too.

Wowee what great news to read today! Amazing @SunshineRose12and @frolickinglamb three healthy babies on their way come December. Keep it coming this week everyone as the dating scans start to roll round.

SausageRoll90 · 25/05/2026 18:58

Amazing news @SunshineRose12 it's such a nervous time - how you're feeling is so normal. I'm booking a private scan for Saturday when I'll be 10+3. I can't wait until the 12 week one. I'm going to go out of my mind.

Ohhh amazing news too @frolickinglamb twins!!! I can't give any experience of having twins but I am a twin and she is my BEST friend in the world. It's a very special and unique bond between twins! Congratulations!

I got my dating scan appointment for the 11th June 🙏🏻🤞🏻

frolickinglamb · 25/05/2026 21:55

@SausageRoll90 aww that’s so lovely to hear how close you are with your sister. I feel so so lucky to be experiencing this. Still feels so surreal

JH20000 · 26/05/2026 10:45

Had another scan on Sunday, all looking well and baby was waving its arms around at us which was lovely to see.

Finally got my twelve week scan next week so hoping that all goes OK.

first trimester is flying by but I’ve been as sick as a dog so hopefully that’ll ease.

rach971 · 26/05/2026 11:14

Anyone else got their 12w scan today? Mine is in a couple of hours and I'm s**tting it!

NewAgeDawning · 26/05/2026 11:15

@rach971mines tomorrow. Think quite a few of us have scans this week. Good luck today xx

Desperatelyseekingme · 26/05/2026 11:16

@rach971 mine is tomorrow, will be thinking about you. Good luck xx

SausageRoll90 · 26/05/2026 13:21

I've booked a private scan for Saturday because I can't wait until my 12weeks scan. I feel like I'm loosing my mind with worry. And I'm trying not to focus on it or talk about it too much to try to put positive energy out there but in my head I just keep praying and praying this baby is growing still. Early pregnancy after loss is horrible.

Ncl31 · 26/05/2026 13:43

@SunshineRose12 @frolickinglamb congratulations to you both. So exciting, 3 wonderfully healthy babies due in December.

@rach971 mine is tomorrow, I hope everything is okay at yours today and everyone else’s who is rapidly approaching
