Due January 2027 anyone?

I couldn’t see an existing thread, so I thought I’d start one. If there is one already going, please point me in the right direction - though I imagine there are not many people due in this month just yet!!

I just found out I’m pregnant. I’ve calculated my due date to be the 1st of January 2027.

This is my third pregnancy. It’s come as a bit of a shock, but a very happy one! My first two were quite close together, and I thought I’d left the baby phase behind. I also gave away all our baby stuff already 🫠

It would be nice to chat to others in the same stage of pregnancy as we go through it all together 🥰

What evidence? There’s no credible evidence that routine ultrasounds harm a baby and I think it’s pretty appalling that you’d post misinformation like this on a thread full of pregnant women to be honest.

Routine scans are safe and I want to know if there are any identifiable health issues with my baby so I can ensure they receive the best health treatment as early possible. I wouldn’t deny my baby the chance of fetal surgery to help treat a problem or immediate specialist care after birth if needed because of some borderline conspiracy theory about ultrasounds.

It’s your body and your baby so opt out of scans if you want to, but please don’t go round spreading potentially dangerous misinformation on the internet.

Exactly….no credible source. If you want to believe a random YouTube video posted by someone with 55 subscribers over hundreds of studies performed by real scientists using actual data and outcomes then that’s on you, but please stop posting your conspiracy theories on this thread.

What a load of rubbish. There’s guidance here from NHS which says the opposite which I’d be much more inclined to follow than a random video from YouTube made by god knows who

If you want to make a decision like that then that’s your prerogative but don’t go around scaremongering people based on zero credible evidence

Link them then please

Lillybobs86 · 28/05/2026 07:53

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to see the link however completely disagree with random comment about ultrasounds are not safe!
From someone who has had a Ectopic that nearly killed me and a loss at 20 weeks I’m extremely grateful for early ultrasounds and the Anomaly scan.
Completely your decision about not having ultrasounds but posting untrue statements in a group could cause unnecessary worry to pregnant woman when ultrasounds are completely safe and save lives of woman and babies.
I would never decline an ultrasound to check the health of my baby 🤔

Only if you consider a small chance of being left-handed to be harmful

Ultrasounds can help your baby by detecting conditions and ensuring they can get timely treatment.

Did you read the link I posted? It’s a systematic review that didn’t find any risk.

You haven’t provided a link to evidence any credible studies so I think it’s safe to say they don’t exist.

I’m not interested in the link thank you.
But see my previous comment for my choices.

So it’s an 8 year old video by someone who is neither a doctor nor scientist and never posted any other videos before or since. Right…

JemRose · 28/05/2026 11:43

Is anyone considering private NIPT? I never considered it with my previous 2 as my NHS standard testing at the 12 week scan came back low risk... but then after my daughter was born we were told that they suspected she had down syndrome and finding out right after birth absolutely screwed me, I was seriously all over the place mentally for like 6 months and it ruined my post partum time and bonding with my daughter, even after blood tests finally confirmed she actually didn't have downs syndrome and was completely normal at 6 weeks old. When we got those results back, I promised myself I'd never have another baby as I couldn't bare going through anything like that again.... but here we are 2 years later pregnant again and really not wanting to spend the whole pregnancy anxious out of my mind and newborn stage desperately searching babies features for anomalies. Just to clarify, personally it's more about the knowing in advance for me than the actual result. If you've had private NIPT it, how much did it cost?

Lillybobs86 · 28/05/2026 11:48

Yes I think posted about this a couple days ago, Had with my last baby and will have NIPT this time too.
Its really cuts out the anxiety and you get to find out gender early too :)
I think I paid around 300 both the NIPT blood test and scan as well.
it depends your area but I have found it local to me cheapest 275 and comes back with 4 days.

erihskreb · 28/05/2026 11:49

@JemRose I haven’t had it but I saw that the private ultrasound clinics near me offer it for £275 for just a blood test or up to £400 for blood test and scan

Bluehouse14 · 28/05/2026 18:37

Hi all, yes I'll be having the NIPT. They offer it privately alongside the 12 week scan at my nhs hospital. Ive had it previously also. Glad I didnt catch that uneducated conspiracy theorist's comments before they got deleted 😂 but you all did a great job of shutting that nonsense down!

LawyerishMumma · 29/05/2026 12:21

Hi, can I sneak in? I've got a v faint positive this morning, meaning I'm due 5th Feb, but if it's anything like my previous babies, I'll be at least a week early

GreenwichPips · 29/05/2026 17:11

Welcome, @LawyerishMumma and congrats on your positive result!

This is my first ever pregnancy and I’m 40 so I’m excited and anxious in equal measure…!

Amazing! I had my first at 26, but each pregnancy has been different!

JemRose · 29/05/2026 18:47

Anyone else as sick as a dog? 6 weeks 5 days today, due 17th January.

erihskreb · 29/05/2026 20:18

@JemRose yes! I’m 7+1, living off crackers and ice lollies, and carrying a sick bag in my handbag 😬
