Can the ladies further along, please reassure me that the nausea gets better? Currently 7+3 and even with the medication I’m still feeling pretty rubbish šŸ˜”

My nausea was rough then, I feel for you. I'm 9+3 and it's dropping off slowly. I have beautiful moments of not feeling sick now, like 30 mins at a time of rest. Still vomming every morning though.

Thanks all for the advice on the scan appointment being too early! I phoned the hospital and they seemed surprised and pushed it back two weeks. Makes more sense.

Desperatelyseekingme · 08/05/2026 11:44

Hi everyone glad to hear everyone's scans went well. I had my booking appointment yesterday, I was a bit anxious but the midwives were lovely. Have another scan in EPU next Thursday when I should be 11+3, but I seem to be measuring a few days behind on scans so if it follows that will be 11. My booking appt was supposed to be 21st when I'd have been nearly 13 weeks but they rang and pulled it toward so glad to have that done and I have my 12 week scan date in this morning for 27th, I'll be more like 13 weeks but I don't mind. All feels very real now!

wonderlust07 · 08/05/2026 11:46

My nausea has been bad this week and I am 8+5 I think. I have no energy and work is a struggle to concentrate.

I haven't needed any anti sickness yet and with my son I did, from about 8 weeks until 28 weeks. The midwife did say that the progestrone may be balancing my hormones although that was last Saturday and the nausea/ sickness has been worse since!

seasonOfChange · 08/05/2026 12:03

Hope everyone is doing great! Apologies I haven’t caught up with the thread, I’ve had my head down working and trying not to give in to anxiety while waiting for my booking appointment and scans.

Looking for a bit of reassurance I’m 7 weeks tomorrow and have had some very faint pink spotting, along with very mild cramps which I’ve had on and off for weeks. Has anyone had anything similar?

PhoenixSTL · 08/05/2026 12:22

@seasonOfChange I had pink spotting when wiping only at 5 weeks, 6 weeks and 7 weeks. I think that you can try and get referred to EPU to get some reassurance? In my area, my GP needs to refer me.

howluckyarewe · 08/05/2026 12:25

I felt first flutters with my eldest around 17ish weeks. Posterior placenta that time. My youngest was anterior placenta and around 18-19 weeks. Think it depends on uterus tilt as well!

@SunshineRose12 I'm holding out for 8 weeks for the nausea to stop. Think it gets better when the placenta kicks in, but I remember only thriving in pregnancy at 12+ weeks before.

I have a scan this afternoon I'm trying to chalk back water for - resisting the urge to puke it all back up. My DH didn't take the bins out last night and the first thing I did this morning was vom from the smell - I've never seen him move so fast to sort them. šŸ˜…

rach971 · 08/05/2026 13:38

@howluckyarewe Is it an internal scan? I was told empty bladder

SunshineRose12 · 08/05/2026 13:56

@seasonOfChange I’ve had regular cramping and was told that’s it likely my uterus growing, so try not to worry, might actually be your body doing good pregnancy things x

SunshineRose12 · 08/05/2026 14:02

Glad to hear the good news stories on sickness; hopefully it will start to improve from week 8 onwards for me.

Agree with everyone who has said they are useless at work at the minute. Me too! I’ve not told work I’m pregnant but I think a few people might have guessed as I’m usually really conscientious - but I’m just too tired / sick to care about work at the moment šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Just got my booking appointment through, I’ll be 7+6. I’m on holiday the week after so think that’s why I’m a little early.

seasonOfChange · 08/05/2026 14:11

@PhoenixSTLthank you, that's quite reassuring to hear! I looked and I can self refer to EPU so will monitor and if it gets worse I'll contact them.

@SunshineRose12yeah I'm trying not to worry as the cramps aren't new and are very mild it's the combination with spotting that had me worried

Aprahel87 · 08/05/2026 14:20

Got by scan appointment through today -27 May. Next few weeks are going to be a torture!!

howluckyarewe · 08/05/2026 15:16

@rach971 external thankfully! All went well though the hospital car park was full, I had to park in a multiplex 15 min away, scratched the car door on a pillar parking, and nearly peed my pants on the walk up. But baby was right on track & I got to see the heartbeat!

If I hadn't been having such bad cramping that scan would have been more worrying than reassuring - they had to take measurements from 3 different angles before they got the right date count.

& I had to tell work today too - I've had 3 days off in the last 2 weeks so it was getting noticeable. My manager said she'd been wondering because I looked so terrible lately. 😭 She was lovely but it was depressing to hear I look as bad as I feel.

JH20000 · 08/05/2026 18:11

Just had first scan. Heartbeat detected and I’m further along than thought. I’m 8 weeks 3 days approx.

Ncl31 · 08/05/2026 20:27

@SunshineRose12 yes I did see you can get a blood test. I’m not going to bother with that as I want to keep something to later on to find out the sex…. We will have a private scan at 16 weeks then our NHS scan to hopefully confirm. I’ve actually read that someone had the blood test and it was wrong. So I don’t think there is 100% accuracy I guess.

my nausea has gotten worse the last few days - I’m 9+5 officially today from LMP. Mid afternoon until I go to bed I’m all to sorts with it.

it looks like a few of us have our 12 week scan on 27th May, may that be a lucky day for us all

Alwaysgrowing · 08/05/2026 21:24

My scan is 2nd June when I reckon I'll be 14 weeks exactly.... I'm going to check for cancellations in the next couple of weeks, my midwife recommended asking, when she found out the date, for the nipt and also because I was really confused about dates in my appointment.

rach971 · 08/05/2026 21:35

Glad your scans went well @howluckyarewe and @JH20000

I think I'll find out the sex at a private scan round 16 weeks like I did with my other 2. I love the idea of it being written in an envelope and finding out over a nice dinner though so I might steal that @Ncl31

SausageRoll90 · 08/05/2026 21:56

Hi ladies ā˜ŗļø thank you for the warm welcome, I'm sorry I've been MIA since then. My nausea ramped up and I've been in survival mode a bit. The increase in symptoms is reassuring in one way but in another is more anxiety provoking because they're not consistent so some days are easier to manage than others. Which I know is normal but wow the anxiety. Counting down the day until my next epu scan... 5 days to go (it's Wednesday 13th)

I'm so glad to read the others are useless in work ATM, I'm doing my best but wow the concentration is HARD! And honestly generally the baby brain has already kicked in, I went to Tesco today after work and thought I'd dropped my keys in the shop so I go looking around the shop where I'd been without any joy, so went back to the car to check id not dropped them by the car... Only to realised I hadn't taken them with my and they're still in the car šŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ and then I had to go back into the shop because despite spending Ā£45 I actually forgot the 1 thing I went in there for!!!

Hugs I've been so sick starting to easy slightly at nearly 11 weeks

SausageRoll90 · 09/05/2026 07:56

Ladies anyone have any experience of having less intense nausea/sickness on a subsequent pregnancy and have that be completely okay?

I know it can vary but my anxiety is high.

This is the 4th time I've done the 1st trimester (I've had 2x MMC that I found out about at 13&12 weeks and obviously my son's pregnancy which was successful) and in all 3 I was increasingly nauseous, not necessarily very sick but constant unrelenting nausea and retching. That didn't settle until 22-25weeks with my son.

I'm currently about 7weeks and I've had the one or 2 days where is been that level but the other days it's been less. Still nauseous but manageable with snacks, drinks and mints. I find it gets worse as the day goes on but it's giving me anxiety.

So anyone on cyclogest pessaries struggling with ALL the bloating and wind?! Iev never had them before and WOW it's uncomfortable.

Ncl31 · 09/05/2026 08:07

@rach971 yeah im quite looking forward to it.
like I say it was DH idea. We don’t do any big displays or anything, quite like intimate settings. I’m not sure where we will go for dinner yet, our usual go to is a steak restaurant but I refuse to have a steak cooked well done so im not sure just yet. I’m sure we will find somewhere nice though. We’re undecided whether to tell anyone else what we’re having or just keep it between us. Named for sure we’re keeping to ourselves. A while ago I mentioned to my mum that we liked the name Noah and her reaction was far from ideal.
at least she will have to hold it in if we announce once her grandchild is born.

@SausageRoll90 I'm on cyclogest. I struggled with bloating even prior to pregnancy though, so I'm not sure if my current bloating is related to the pessary. I'm definitely windier though šŸ˜‚

@Ncl31 I'm the same. Absolutely hate any attention on me, not into parties and all that kind of stuff. I don't know where we'd go either to be honest. The thought and smell of food at the moment knocks me sick šŸ˜‚ I've had a quick think on names but definitely going to wait until I know the sex to think properly as then it narrows it down. My eldests name was decided on super quickly, youngest took a bit more time, I feel like this time it'll be even more difficult

howluckyarewe · 09/05/2026 10:10

@SausageRoll90 so far nausea has been the worst in my this pregnancy, wasn't so bad with my youngest and was what I thought was awful with my eldest. It varies so much each time, I blame the baby.

@Ncl31 my MIL told us my eldest's name sounded like a Quaker when he was born. 🄲 Name them what you want, there'll always be an opinion! I left both names up to my DH (with veto power) to give him a way to connect more with the pregnancies. Plus took the mental load off me so win win.

Ncl31 · 09/05/2026 10:11

@rach971 in our last pregnancy we had pretty much decided on names. Both boy and girl, we still really like them both so may use them. But yeah we will wait until we know what we’re having then we can really decide

@SausageRoll90yes. Im also on pregnancy #4 and am finding the symptoms much more manageable. Ive nearly booked an early scan for reassurance. Not sure what to say to assuage you but it might be our bodies are well used to the hcg? I also supplemented on b6 whilst ttc this time round so that may be helping x

NewAgeDawning · 09/05/2026 10:43

Sorry ladies ive been quiet, hope everyone is doing ok. Ive been busy with my new job which has been taking a lot of my time.
Ive had my booking appointment now and my nhs nipt has been requested. My scan is also on the 27th may. How mad is that?
