Hello,

@mamatotwo98 ive called EPU as they’re open until 2200.
they said they’re not concerned as it is a very small amount of brown streaking in normal mucus, they said to monitor over the next day or two and attend my scan I have with them next week.
i didn’t tell her I have a private scan booked for Friday.
i think I may have freaked out when I saw it and it has spiralled my anxiety. The more I read about it, this is pretty common. Just terrible feeling like this after previous losses

try not to worry @Ncl31 I had similar at 10 weeks with my daughter. All was fine. I was very stressed and panicked also so I do get it. Try to distract yourself for now.

Aprahel87 · 29/04/2026 20:46

@Ncl31 i know that it can be hard to deal with, but I had some brown spotting on and off since my last scan on 18th, and it did not get any worse, just small smudges. There could be so many reasons for it. I keep reminding myself what the doctor said when it originally started - around 5 weeks- as long as it is not bright red bleeding accompanied with severe cramps, often it is perfectly fine. I will keep everything crossed for you- just hold on until your scan on Friday šŸ¤ž

Ncl31 · 29/04/2026 21:18

Thank you ladies, I appreciate it support.
it is so difficult going through this. I think after this pregnancy I will be done. I don’t think I can cope with this anxiety again

hollyhocks2 · 29/04/2026 22:13

@Ncl31 I had similar brown spotting for a day around 7 weeks, and all was absolutely fine, it stopped and all is well. I booked a private scan almost immediately, for that same morning, and obviously that gave me massive peace of mind. Any chance of moving yours to tomorrow? The wait and the worry are totally awful and none of us are going to dismiss your worries here BUT that is 100% not concerning bleeding at all, everything is going to be fine ā¤ļø

Ncl31 · 30/04/2026 01:57

@hollyhocks2 there is no availability until Friday morning, plus my hubby is away until later this evening with work.
I 100% won’t go for a scan without him again. My last miscarriage I was told alone which was horrific and had to ring him to come to the hospital and he had to drive an hour with that on his mind. I vowed never again

@Ncl31 how are you this morning? Hope you got some rest x

Ncl31 · 30/04/2026 09:22

I’m exhausted if I’m honest, barely slept at all.
I’ve called in sick to work as I just can’t face that today.

OP posts:
PhoenixSTL · 30/04/2026 09:49

@Ncl31 sending hugs to you, completely understand the anxieties. Hope you can find some distraction at home.

Desperatelyseekingme · 30/04/2026 09:58

@Ncl31 nothing wrong with taking some time when you need it, I hope you can get some rest today x

hollyhocks2 · 30/04/2026 10:05

@Ncl31 makes sense, def best to have him with you. Any more spotting since that one wipe? Get through today however you can but some fresh air is always a good idea ā¤ļø one hour at a time

hollyhocks2 · 30/04/2026 10:09

9 weeks today and it’s actually crept up on me, can’t believe how much calmer I feel since crossing that point of previous losses. Hope all of you with previous losses get to a point of calm too. I’ve got a big in-person meeting today and feeling quite rough. My immediate manager knows but not the others. I’ll wait until after my 10 week scan and then I’ll ā€˜go public’. Paranoid the bloat will give me away today but I suppose people will be too polite to mention it!

Ncl31 · 30/04/2026 10:49

Thank you ladies, I’ve been for my weekly acupuncture this morning. I feel a little calmer following that.
im going to potter in the garden I think for today. Just do some odd jobs and be out in the sunshine.

i hope you’re all doing okay

@hollyhocks2 im hoping once i get to 12 weeks and past the point of previous losses ill be calmer. I’m probably going to stay off work until then now if I’m honest

@hollyhocks2 I kind of know what you mean about getting past the point of previous losses. I'm so grateful to have gotten past 8 weeks with this pregnancy. Next milestone is my booking appointment.

I feel a bit anxious that I'm not more anxious about it all šŸ˜… my symptoms have completely eased off now - either things have gone pear shaped or the placenta is starting to take over now. I'm worried but trying not to dwell on it - what will be will be.

OlivejuiceU2 · 30/04/2026 14:12

Completely understanding being anxious. My symptoms keeping easing off now I am 8 weeks which I didn't have with my daughter. I do have my booking appointment tomorrow which I think will be good to talk through with the midwife some of this with. Has anyone had their scan date through and when will it be?

I have an event when I am 12 weeks where I will see a lot of family and friends, there is no way I'll get away with keeping it quiet so plan to tell people then. Think we will have a private scan at 11 weeks to check everything is OK.

Ncl31 · 30/04/2026 14:33

@OlivejuiceU2 my booking appointment is Tuesday.
In my last pregnancy I got my 12 week scan appointment through a few hours after that appointment and also my 16 week midwife appointment. So it may work the same where you are

Desperatelyseekingme · 30/04/2026 14:38

I have just had another scan with early pregnancy and all still okay. They are going to scan me in another 2 weeks just for reassurance due to my history. I have had really fluctuating symptoms and was so worried, I know loads of you in same boat so hopefully this shows it doesn't always mean the worst xx

PhoenixSTL · 30/04/2026 14:50

@OlivejuiceU2 it's reassuring to hear that your symptoms are easing off as well. I've not had my scan date through yet, but I'm assuming that it will come through shortly after my booking appointment. Unfortunately I'm on holiday when I turn 12 weeks, so it'll definitely have to wait until after that.

@Ncl31 snap, my booking appointment is on Tuesday as well!

@Desperatelyseekingme glad you had a positive scan! That's so great to hear!

wonderlust07 · 30/04/2026 15:00

My booking appointment is on saturday and 12 week scan is booked for 27th May.
My symptoms are still flucuating, makes me nervous most of the time. Had some distractions with return to work after holiday, 2nd birthday and then the party.

wonderlust07 · 30/04/2026 15:01

I am so feeling very tired and unmotivated at work.

LixxieM · 30/04/2026 15:24

I had my booking appointment on the 21st, I have another appointment on the 8th of May which I assume is for bloods and then my scan on the 4th of June.

Niftymum88 · 30/04/2026 17:06

I know how you ladies feel.
mum debating a private scan, Because I know even if we have it it doesn’t guarantee anything but at the same time I’d rather know early.
I’ll be 6 weeks tomorrow and the nerves have kicked in more now cos last time there was no more growth from 6 weeks and we didn’t know till 9 weeks.

OlivejuiceU2 · 30/04/2026 18:02

I think I keep dwelling on my miscarriage. It was such an awful experience (obviously they all are). I didn’t have any signs of pain or bleeding just a feeling something was not right. I was referred to the EPU for a scan and they could see that there was something wrong with the heartbeat and told me I would loose the baby. Just sent home and told to come back a week later. Awful. I never had any signs just another scan confirming the pregnancy came to end a few days prior. Sorry to share on here, I don’t have anyone else to talk to about this stuff and it’s getting to me a bit. I am terrified it’s going to happen again.

rach971 · 30/04/2026 18:26

@OlivejuiceU2 I don't think you realise how difficult it is until you actually go through it yourself. It's not talked about much. When I went through mine and spoke to people about it, I was shocked at how common it was and how many people had been through similar

With mine I'd had a feeling something was wrong from day 1. Went for a couple of early scans, one only showed the yolk sac then the next showed a fetal pole with a heartbeat. But baby stopped growing around 7 weeks and we found out at a private scan round 9 weeks. Then my HCG took forever to come down, I had weekly blood tests for about 10 weeks

I don't enjoy the first trimester at all, it's anxiety ridden and full of worry for me! Got a private scan in a couple of weeks so just got to hope for the best x

SunshineRose12 · 30/04/2026 20:39

For anyone struggling with sickness, I was prescribed xonvea. Took the first pills last night and my sickness has been much better today. For anyone suffering, do speak to your GP x
