@OlivejuiceU2 @rach971 I’m so sorry to hear of your losses. The anxiety is something else following a loss.
i hope you’re both able to find something to distract you and comfort you.
I’m literally counting down the hours until our scan tomorrow.
our last baby stopped growing at 9+5 but we didn’t find out until 11+3 so these next few weeks are going to be agonising

For anyone struggling with sickness, I was prescribed xonvea. Took the first pills last night and my sickness has been much better today. For anyone suffering, do speak to your GP x

Oh interesting! I got given cyclizine but it's made me feel worse if anything, still sick but also spaced and woozy

howluckyarewe · 01/05/2026 07:16

@KelpieTheFirst @SunshineRose12 I got Cariban and instead of being wiped from nausea I'm semi-comatose from it so don't think it's for me! Does xonvea have the same fatigue side effects?

@Ncl31 your anxiety is completely understandable in the circumstances, I hope that the next few weeks go smoothly and quickly for you. šŸ’

I'm trying for Xonvea but it's only prescribed by obstetricians in my NHS trust, annoyingly. I've not even seen a midwife yet let alone anyone else. Waiting for my booking appointment this afternoon.

SunshineRose12 · 01/05/2026 08:35

I’ve not noticed any side affects on Xonvea. I was pretty tired yesterday afternoon and seriously considered a nap (whilst working from home 😳) but tiredness is a pregnancy symptom so hard to know if I would have felt like this even without the medication.

I’m still finding i need to keep eating every few hours to stop the nausea creeping in, but it’s manageable. Whereas before I was feeling so sick that I wasn’t eating, and then feeling even worse as my body was clearly in a huge calorie deficit.

Lookingtogrowthefamily · 01/05/2026 10:58

Hope scan goes ok today @Ncl31 x

Can you get anti sickness tablets for nausea? I’ve been trying so many different things to try and help keep it at bay, and think I’ve found my cure… freezing cold milk and cheese crackers 🫣.

I’m also going off food by the smell of it. Made a veggie lasagne the other night which I usually love but soon as I smelt it coming out of the oven I was instantly put off 🤢.

I’m 8 weeks today, another week of everything hopefully going as well as it should be x

PhoenixSTL · 01/05/2026 11:15

@Lookingtogrowthefamily my friends suggested trying those anti-sickness bracelets for nausea. I didn't get around to finding mine though, so didn't try it out. Dry crackers and ginger nut biscuits seemed to help me, and I had to give up hot drinks for a bit.

Well done on your 8 week milestone!

I've made it to 9 weeks today, and we're off camping on this rainy bank holiday weekend soon. Hopefully it won't be too awful šŸ˜…

hollyhocks2 · 01/05/2026 11:18

@Niftymum88ah so you are at the most nerve wracking time in terms of your previous experience ā¤ļø maybe a private scan in this next 3 weeks would help ease your worries?

@OlivejuiceU2how far along was your loss? No need to apologise for talking about it, it’s at the front of your mind of course and as you say it’s not something we always feel able to bring up with friends or family. I hope your partner is happy to talk through things that are on your mind?

@rach971 how far along are you now? The time seems to pass agonisingly slowly doesn’t it.

rach971 · 01/05/2026 16:19

@hollyhocks2 Going by my EPU scan, I'm 8+3 today. Which means the scan was 2 weeks ago but feels like months ago šŸ˜…

OlivejuiceU2 · 01/05/2026 17:46

Thanks @hollyhocks2 it’s was 6/7 weeks. My partner is amazing and very supportive so I do talk to him.

I’ve just had my booking appointment which apart from fainting having my bloods done has gone well. She did say I need a referral for an extra scan of my cervix as I had precancerous cells removed but I’m not too worried about that.

Ncl31 · 01/05/2026 20:03

@OlivejuiceU2 oh I had pre cancerous cells removed years ago. I wonder if they’ll need to check my cervix too. I never thought about that.

all was well at our scan this evening. Looking forwards to our booking appointment next week now

@Lookingtogrowthefamily freezing cold milk sounds pretty good to me right now - I might try that!

To the poster who said they were off tea / hot drinks. Me too!!! Usually drink 6-8 cups of tea a day. I’ve swapped to decaf but this week I just can’t stomach it at all.

My husband usually brings me a cup of tea in bed in the morning (he’s an early bird) and the other morning i was like ā€˜eeeew why have you brought me that’ despite the fact I’ve loved a cup of tea in bed for the last 10 + years. He’s started bringing me an Actimel, which is suiting me much better.

Anyone feel like they don’t recognise themselves at the moment though? I’m not liking things I usually would (chocolate!!!) and suddenly wanting really random things. My husband commented that’s he was finding it disconcerting, and I was like ā€˜imagine how I feel’ šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

SunshineRose12 · 01/05/2026 20:32

Separately, I’ve started looking at maternity clothes. I think I’m a few weeks away from needing them (currently 6+3), but think my sports leggings and jeans will be the first things I can’t fit into.

What are others doing to get ahead and be organised? Anything else I should be doing?

Desperatelyseekingme · 01/05/2026 20:38

@Ncl31 i am so pleased I have been checking the thread for your update!! So happy for you x

rach971 · 01/05/2026 20:57

@Ncl31 So pleased your scan went well

@SunshineRose12 I was talking to my partner about maternity clothes (only got one pair of work pants and one pair of joggers I fit into) but I refuse to buy anything before the 12 week scan because it feels like a jinx. He's ordered me a couple of bits off Vinted but I've made them keep them in his car, I refuse to have them in the house yet šŸ˜‚

I know what you mean about feeling like you’re ā€˜jinxing it’. I’ve not looked at anything for baby yet as it feels like tempting fate at this stage. As you say, think of everything is ok at 12 weeks I’ll tentatively start shopping for baby.

Your husband sounds lovely!

rach971 · 01/05/2026 21:31

@SunshineRose12 I think it's because I bought a sleepsuit early on in my second pregnancy and then had a missed miscarriage. That being said I'm sure I bought things before 12 weeks with my last pregnancy and that all went fine, but I'm too anxious this time. I'm going to just look on Vinted for a size up in trousers for now because I can't keep living in the same ones šŸ˜‚ everything else is too tight and uncomfortable

Alwaysgrowing · 01/05/2026 22:00

I was looking in my cupboard for clothes to donate to my daughter's school, charity collection. I found my bag of maternity clothes and washed them today.

Alwaysgrowing · 01/05/2026 22:01

I'm so bloated, someone I don't know that well said I can see your expecting, how many months. I said your right, but it's only a matter of weeks. šŸ™ˆ

SausageRoll90 · 01/05/2026 22:46

Hi guys šŸ‘‹šŸ» I know I'm a bit late to the party but it seems like my EDD is somewhere between 25th - 29th December šŸŽ„
I've not caught up properly as there's a fair few pages to read but a little about me. I'm about 6weeks and this is pregnancy #6 but (hopefully) baby #2. I had 5week, 13week and 12 week losses before having my son (and needed blood thinners and aspirin to help us get there in the end). Then on this journey for baby #2 I had a miscarriage at 6+2 weeks last cycle and by some seer miracle caught in my 1st cycle afterwards for this current pregnancy.

I went to epu this week and they were able to see a gestational sac and fetal pole so I'm on progesterone now and will have another scan at 7 weeks - all being well I'll start my blood thinners.

My anxiety is absolutely sky high, time has never gone slower and I forgot how hard this is. Pregnancy after loss is very difficult mentally. I'm trying my best to focus on the fact that right now I am pregnant and I'm so grateful for that. Trying to let the anxiety sit next to the hope, and rather than trying to push the anxiety away I'm just saying I know you're there I'm going to try to keep my focus on hope as much as I can. Not easy to do but I'm trying.

Sending love to all šŸ’›

Ncl31 · 02/05/2026 07:48

@SausageRoll90 welcome.
i am on blood thinners and aspirin this time too. This is pregnancy number 4, hoping for baby number 1.
this week my anxiety has been next level, I had a reassurance scan last night at 8+3. My nhs scan is Thursday so not long to wait.

to those of you looking at maternity clothes I got ya! Me too! My usual clothes are too tight, I have put on a couple of kg as my exercise level has reduced drastically and my carb intake has increased, but the bloating! Wow!
I’ve just ordered a couple of bits from Vinted and sweaty Betty had a good sale so I got a pair of wide leg trousers for less than half price!

@SausageRoll90 welcome. Pregnancy is an anxious time, but we’re doing our best to keep each other sane x

Lookingtogrowthefamily · 02/05/2026 08:28

Hello @SausageRoll90! All with you with the anxiousness but I am trying to let it sit beside me too. I like you’re thinking there.

This morning I have spiralled a bit. Been having a sharp pain in the upper right side of tummy since 3am, which I hope is just trapped wind. I feel like I’m not as nauseous and seen 3 single magpies whilst out on a walk - overthinking everything! I keep reminding myself there’s nothing I can do, only hope things are going well and that a magpie isn’t going to change the outcome šŸ™ƒ.

I don’t feel as bloated waking up this morning either, another reason I’m starting to worry but hoping it’s just cause I’ve been mindful to increase my water intake x

mamatotwo98 · 02/05/2026 08:49

@Lookingtogrowthefamilygosh I’m so glad it’s not just me and the magpies! I have seen so many single magpies the last couple of days and it’s been playing on my mind and made me feel like a crazy person! 🄲 I always try and find another soon after seeing one to make myself feel better 🤣

bluepurplegreen · 02/05/2026 09:00

I’m about 8 and a half weeks now. Feel mildly unwell all the time… ok though… but on 40% battery, and on the edge of a headache. It’s worse than I imagined it would be.

No anxiety here, my trousers aren’t tighter, I get lots of jolts and twinges, and have lots of food aversions.
