How long was you with your partner before having a baby?

Going out two years, then married for 2.5 years but my oldest is now 30…..

I haven’t. But I’d say minimum 3 years to know true colours through good and bad times.

4 years. We've been together 14 years this year, will have been married for 3 this year and DD turns 10. Why do you ask OP?

@FrazzledHippyi was just curious as everyone’s views are different. My friend is wanting to try for a baby and only been with her partner 1 year. Completely her choice I guess but would be too early for me x

Together 7 years, married 6 months when baby no.1 conceived

8 years but we were only 16 when we first started dating.

Married for 4.5 years before I got pregnant, and were together for about 3 before that.

Nearly 10 yrs when ds come along. Marriage for nearly 4. We were only 18 and 19 when we got together.

I'd agree with you tbh. Although I'm not saying it never works out, in my experience, couples who have had a baby before they even know each other properly rarely last.

I wouldn't express any strong opinions though, people don't often like to hear they're being foolish!

18 months before conceiving our first, we have just had our second 5 years later

We started trying about a year after we got married. We had known one another for 15 years at that point.

i wouldn’t ttc with someone who couldn’t be bothered to go to the effect of getting married first

1st baby I got pregnant after 3months. Not ideal but it worked out and we went on to have 3 more. (1st baby just turned 22)

We started trying as soon as we got married. We had been together for 6 years at that point. DS came along about a year later.

About 7 years. But we were young when we got together and I wouldn't have wanted children any earlier.

Met, engaged a year later, married within 8 months and then baby following year. 2 years 8 months all told. He’s ace and gets better every day.

9 years. 1 seems very little but it depends on their ages too.

DS1 2.5 years after that. Our choice would have been more quickly.
