thanks for the congrats everyone hard to believe it's true...

cricri i so know what you mean. i keeplooking at my scan picture to keep me going. at first, i was just terrified that bean wouldnt stick beyond 5 weeks as that was when i last had an mc. now pathetically i am fearing a missed mc which was my first mc - i didnt find out till 10 weks that baby stopped growing at 8 weeks so yes trying to think positive but the fears are still there in the back of my mind. do feel like a nutcase tho!

i am thinking of getting signed off sick but want to wait till after 8 week scan when i can be sure...

mollie how are you? no more spotting i hope! although i did spot with my dd for 16 weeks (just brown spots not bright red sorry if tmi). so all spotting isnt bad (i try to tell myself now as i am still spotting!) i went privately for a scan at 6.5 weeks as i couldnt wait no more. am going in again at 8 weeks then decide whether i wait till 12 weeks or have another in between. what about you?

ebb how far along are you now? must be quite far if your nuchal is coming up soon! realy pleased to see you girls here though!

hello to daisy abnd minhooch too and congrats on twins!!!

and yes where is jules???

MollieMooma · 09/07/2008 12:56

Bunny It's so natural to worry after what you have been through. I'm really pleased the first scan went well for you, not to long to wait until week 8 and your second one. I went to GP this morning, I'm going for my scan week after next, the EPAU will ring me with a date in the next day or two. I will be 7 weeks then, with my mm/c baby stopped growing at 5 wks found out at 8 wks, so sending my tummy lots of sticky growie thoughts at the moment

downbutnotout · 09/07/2008 13:24

Congrats to everyone - so exciting to have twins on here too! Gosh this thread has been busy recently. I'm still knicker-checking, though starting to believe a bit more. Have also found out a good friend (who had two previous mcs) is pg too and due almost at the same time as me.

Wishing happy sticky thoughts to us all!

supersteph · 09/07/2008 14:13

molliemooma And Bunny, I know how you feel. You cant yet injoy your pregnancy. I am 10 weeks now and I still am worried, I have two more weeks to go till my 12 week scan. I also had two early scans one at 6 weeks and one at 8 weeks. As I had a mmc last year and the baby stopped growing at 8 weeks.
my sickness started at 6 weeks this time and I have bin worried as for the past two days my sickness has not bin as bad. I mean for the past 3 weeks I have bin sick every morning, but today and yesterday I have only felt slightly sick ( not bin sick )
I s it too early for the sickness to get easier?

downbutnotout · 09/07/2008 18:04

Hi steph - apparently the sickness is supposed to peak at nine weeks, so it may just be starting to get better naturally. Mine has been starting to feel better over the last week and I'm 11 weeks.

ronshar · 09/07/2008 19:32

Excellent we have lots more insane pregnant ladies to help share the pain of pregnancy with.Welcome.

Jules where are you? I miss you. I am worried about you. Has miniJules arrived? Is everything ok?

Daisy you are the fountain of all knowledge, where is Jules? Please find her.

bunnyinheadlights · 09/07/2008 22:01

ladies i am having a mini crisis - i accidentally ate some uncooked chicken at a bbq today (only one bite which i swallowed!) before i realised that it was uncooked. now i am stressing that this will harm the baby. is this something i should go see a doctor asap or just wait it out? i am kicking myself after all that i've been through to put it all at risk with a burger!!

sorry to burden you gals but if you've had any similar experiences, please let me know what you did. thanks!

ronshar · 09/07/2008 22:31

How long ago did you eat it. Did you make yourself sick? If it was going to start causing you problems then it would start with bad tummy pain and possibly diahorrea. Any gripping tummy pain is a sign of food poisoning. I would see how you are in morning and go to your GP to get checked over. It will probably all be ok. Not many of our chikens have salmonella anymore but you still need to be careful. Fingers crossed.

Did anyone see channel 5? Unassissted birthing. No midwife no doula nothing.

iliketosleep · 09/07/2008 22:42

I did, they looked so relaxed! Although i was like that after my homebirth with ds which had 2 midwives present. Each to their own i suppose but i wouldn't fancy the risk of something going wrong.

ronshar · 09/07/2008 23:06

No I agree. My homebirth was fantastic but I dont think I could live with myself if I chose to go it alone and my baby died or I left my DD's without a mum because I wanted to prove a point.
I do agree with having the choice. I thought it was harsh of St Thom's to cut that lady off completely. With no support at all!

sugr · 10/07/2008 08:16

Hello, I'm another insane pregnant lady to join this thread. Have just got a BFP on Monday after a MMC end of April at 16 weeks. Was an unexpected positive as our previous one was IVF after six years of trying so I keep telling myself that this one IS meant to be.

Last pg was very traumatic as had a nuchal scan which showed a 1:2 chance of downs, a CVS that then showed everything was OK and then the midwife not finding a heartbeat at 16 weeks.

To top it all my mum is now being treated for terminal cancer so I really want this to work as I hope it will keep her going longer. Have only just stopped crying from the MMC and my mum's diagnosis so it is great to see this thread.

downbutnotout · 10/07/2008 12:52

Welcome sugr and sorry to hear that you have had to contend with so much already. We are all completely paranoid here, of course, but that doesn't mean we can't support each other! Hope you find this thread helpful.

MollieMooma · 10/07/2008 13:01

Bunny How are you feeling now today?
Sugr Hi, so sorry to hear of your experience and things must be very traumatic with the situation regarding your Mum, I wish you lots of luck and really hope things work out for you and your family

kate2179 · 10/07/2008 14:57

Hello ladies, sorry to barge in, it's just that I've been keeping an eye out for jules and I don't think she's posted anywhere since the 2nd which is pretty unusual... I'm getting quite worried about her... Does anyone have her email address etc just to check she's ok? Hopefully I'm just being paranoid!
Healthy and well ladies, healthy and well

PS Bunny try not to worry. Even if you get food poisoning which you may well not, it won't necessarily harm the baby. I'm pretty sure someone on here had quite bad food poisoning v early in their pg and all was fine. Hope that's the case for you too! xx

bunnyinheadlights · 10/07/2008 15:55

thanks for your messages. i stressed through the night and have been very windy but not sure if that's the dodgy chicken or just my system getting used to being pg. i really think the mad hole that is my brain has nothing better to focus on so therefore decides to panic at the smallest things...

welcome to sugr i hope this pg is the positive light in the past mths of sadness for you. so sorry to hear what you've gone through.

hello kate!
waves to mollie

sugr · 11/07/2008 08:47

Well my visit was brief. Was hoping that a slight bleed last night was implantation bleeding but took two different tests this morning and both negative.

Hope to be back on this thread in a few months!

tryingnottoobsess · 11/07/2008 09:44

oh Sugr, I'm so sorry. I just read your original post, and I'm gutted for you. After all you've been though, I don't really have adequate words. Lots of love.

tryingnottoobsess · 11/07/2008 09:50

Kate, the reason I was back lurking here was looking out for Jules. I just checked back and she gave me her email on page 3 of this thread... so I don't think she'll mind me re-posting it....
nestordog99 at msn . com

I just emailed her, and don't mind if she doesn't reply as she must be mega busy by now, but if anyone else hears from her, will you post here to say she is ok?

MollieMooma · 11/07/2008 12:49

Sugr I am so sorry hun Do you think it was a CP? Keep your chin up, I really hope you will be back to us very very soon. Take care and sending you a virtual hug

downbutnotout · 11/07/2008 17:55

sgr I'm so sorry, it doesn't get any easier does it? Hope to see you back soon.

ronshar · 11/07/2008 18:17

Short but sweet sugr. I am sad for your loss. As someone who only managed 7 days last year I have a small idea of what you are going through.
Make sure you go to GP as every pregnancy counts when it comes to getting a referral. Although if you have had IVF then you have already been through it. Hope to see you back soon.

LackaDAISYcal · 12/07/2008 10:54

sorry to hear your news sgr . i'm pretty sure my second MC was a CP, but it certainly doesn;t make it any easier as all those hopes and dreams for a little life are dashed. take care of yourself, rest up and fingers crossed we'll see you back here before too long.

ronshar.....if only I could find people by thinking about them....Mr Depp would be a regular visitor to my neck of the woods .

fingers crossed we hear from jules soon...she has me worried too, especially as she has been such a prolific poster and keeping the thread going single handedly at times!

kate, I hope you are well lovely

trying......how's life with little one treating you?

OP posts:
downbutnotout · 12/07/2008 11:13

I wanted to ask you ladies a question - do you think it worthwhile to get one of those monitors so that I can check the baby's heart rate myself (once it is a bit bigger, of course). I'm concerned it might be difficult to use and I'll end up worrying more. Will it reassure me or will I drive myself madder?

LackaDAISYcal · 12/07/2008 11:15

i nevee used one trying.....mainly because for me, not being able to find it because of the baby is lying funny would cuase me all sorts of anxiety.

I'm working on the "ignorance is bliss" and "what you don't know can't harm you" principals at the minute.

how many weeks are you now?

LackaDAISYcal · 12/07/2008 11:16
