IVF Pregnancy Club- spring/summer 2026

Wanted to start a thread for anyone expecting after IVF and due next spring/summer

I am finding it quite daunting after infertility for 4 years and then a round of IVF to now be FINALLY expecting in June 2026, can hopefully chat with anyone else in the same boat

@FancyGoose I am the same and it is freeeeezing here. Feeling like -4 atm apparently. I am lucky to wfh so am gathering all the blankets in my house and building myself a nest.

Is anyone else struggling with sleep atm? I keep tossing and turning so much at night I think mainly due to my sides cramping up from lying on them. I switch over and it happens the other side… and repeat. I am exhausted in the day atm - particularly once it gets dark - and it feels like more than I should be for nearly 24 weeks. Got a midwife appt on 20th so will see what my bloods come back as for iron deficiency… thinking I must have turned anaemic but shall see.

@magpie234 I'm struggling with sleep too. Have you tried a different pregnancy pillow maybe? I honestly think people should be off work from the moment they get pregnant.

The baby has been violently assaulting my pelvis too - I finally understand lightning crotch. It is like a sudden jolt which makes me yelp in surprise sometimes. He's only 26 weeks I wonder how much worse it'll get!!

Yep also struggling with sleep - mostly due to back pain which I think is caused by the huge boobs 🤣 I have a pregnancy pillow which does help though. And also wake up at least twice most nights for a wee!

@SamVan I agree! I have both the bbhugme and babybub but maybe need to try some different configurations! Sigh. How do you and @FancyGoose use yours?

Sorry to hear about the pelvic asssault… not had lightning crotch (name cracks me up) yet and not looking forward to it! But also kind of intrigued. Our bubba gave me her biggest kick yet last night. I was (attempting!) to sleep but reckon I would have seen it had I been looking.

hope everyone rise is good, we had a reassurance scan yesterday and baby was so active , dancing away like crazy , will be 15 weeks on Friday , we told both our parents and our siblings and bought our 1st baby grow after so that was nice 🥰

not a lot of snow where I am (east Scotland) but really cold 🥶 stay warm everyone 🩵

So no induction tomorrow now, my waters went at 3.45am this morning. Currently in the maternity waiting on labour to properly start

Oh @worldwidetravel2017 im really sorry to hear this, how far along are you? Are they able to hold it off? I hope alls well.

Oh, goodness. I'm so sorry. I hope they are looking after you well, and that they manage to get it stopped.

@magpie234 I just hug it on my side. I do find the pregnancy pains are random though and come and go - i had terrible tail bone pain for awhile which has now gone without me doing anything. Same for knee pain. And shoulder pain. I hope your backpain resolves on its own soon!

@worldwidetravel2017 so sorry to hear that. Are you still in hospital now? Is there a plan for managing it? What were your symptoms (if you don't mind sharing, please ignore if you don't want to answer or go into detail - totally understand).

@magpie234 i have the bbghug me one too and i just sort of spoon it but hook my top leg over it which seems to be the most comfortable. I also wedge another pillow into my back to try and help with the upper back pain. I am usually a back sleeper so find it hard to get comfy on my side but it helps a bit.

Still no sign of any contractions so just waiting on a bed in the labour ward and will then be put on an oxytocin drip

How's everyone feeling this morning? I am just counting the days to my anomaly scan but it's not until the end of January.

Still no baby 🙈 finally got to the labour ward just after 2am, got the drip and an epidural but still not in active labour 🙄😫 they will check me again in a few hours

Oh, how frustrating! My DD was born by induction and the waiting around was absolutely infuriating ... you just want the show on the road! I hope very soon you'll be too busy to keep posting. Hope you've got a good book/magazines too!

Was seen in pre term labour prevention clinic yest
Have to go back there today

Still in hosp

I lost mucus discharge - dark brown long stringy with blood in it

Also had v bad back pain & felt off

Mon eve they did swab
Saw watery discharge
Did pre term labour test & was positive

Yest at scan baby still had lotsa fluid
But sometimes peoples waters break a little & sometimes baby arrives anywhere in next 14 days

@worldwidetravel2017, sorry, that sounds horrible for you. I'm glad you're in hospital and being looked after. Lots of love and thoughts for you.
