@magpie234 Omg same, they are all beautiful! I would really like champagne but it’s a joint decision with my partner… I am hoping I get my way though (he does also like the champagne but don’t think it’s his fave) I was a single mum with my first son, so it has been a shift to slow down and not jump the gun and forget that I have to consider my partner too in all of this 😂 trying to undo 12 years of being the only one who makes decisions has been hard!

@AmberRose26i had my 16 week appt yesterday (at 17+6) and she didn’t use the Doppler. Just checked my urine, blood pressure and ran through everything I needed to know etc. she was lovely but don’t have an appt until 28 weeks now which is 10 weeks away! Seems mental. We went out for dinner last night which was lovely and then home watching a series (we are watching Yellowstone atm, well I am rewatching as I love it so much) but did manage to stay up until midnight! Hope you had a lovely NY

@dubkittenoh bloody hell, I hope you weren’t too stressed and hopefully Friday the results are good.

@SamVan I did actually, yesterday morning as she had been off over Xmas which is obviously fine but she was very much like “you should have called the hospital” well… no I don’t think I should of and I can’t take that mindset everytime I have a question or small concern… will be on the phone to the hospital constantly lol! I understand she wouldn’t want anything bad to happen but it feels like there isn’t really a middle ground to get support? Like if it’s serious yes obviously the hospital to be checked, and if your question can wait a few days then yes contact the midwife… but what about the middle bit? My tummy does feel much better now thank you, I think it’s just everything growing as my bump is getting big lol! Yay for 25 weeks! Oh lovely, where are you going at 2 months? We don’t have anything booked yet but might look at going somewhere in sept/oct

@MintOwlhappy new year to you too! Glad your 20 week scan went well xx

Happy new year ladies! I’m almost 20 weeks now so happy to be close to that milestone. My scan is not until the 9th though but I feel the odd movement which is helping keep me going. Of an evening I feel her for quite a while kicking off and on when I first lay down it’s so special and my husband felt it yesterday for the first time. Light but definitely there.
I’ve bought lots of bits across the sales, a few cellular blankets, baby grows vests etc but I’ll leave anything else another few weeks. I gave everything of my daughters away apart from her baby grows as when my sister had her little girl my girl was only 2 and the sting of seeing them on another baby was too much. So I have clothes up until around 9-12 months which is lovely to see them on another little one hopefully.
when did everyone’s movements get a bit more regular? I think I have my placenta on the front which is the only reason I haven’t yet as I did by now with my daughter.

Happy New Year all!

I've gone a bit silent as I've been busy. 16 week midwife appointment on the 5th and she says she'll let DD try to find the heartbeat. I am feeling tiny flutters, but not really showing yet unless you know. My skin is so dry! But I'm not sure whether that's pregnancy or the fact that usually I'd be out of doors all the time and not inside in centrally-heated rooms (I changed job middle of last year).

How is everyone else doing? @Backtotheicsi, your 20-week scan coming up must feel great! @dubkitten, sounds like that was a full-on day yesterday. Fingers crossed it's smoother sailing now until the finish line. @MintOwl, would love to know how you get on with Next jeans if you've bought some - let me know if they're good? @CloudyIvy55 - definitely relate to feeling it's all not real! I know perfectly well I'm pregnant but it's hard not to assume that very soon someone's going to come along and say 'no, all a mistake, sorry!'

pastelheart · 01/01/2026 10:35

@Backtotheicsi happy new year!! Omg can’t believe you are almost 20 weeks! I have been feeling movement since about 14/15 weeks but the past week it has got more regular and like you a pattern, of the evening when I sit or lie down he has a little party and it’s deffo getting stronger!

I have just been sat having a tea with my partner and felt all wet… and he joked that my boob was leaking..

and yes it had leaked everywhere, whole front of my top was wet! I’m only 18 weeks 🙃 I had over supply with my son though so guess it will be the same this time maybe (not sure if that’s how it works or not) off to buy some breast pads.

Backtotheicsi · 01/01/2026 10:38

@pastelheart my boobs have been so sore recently on and off feeling on fire so I don’t think I’ll be far behind you, I did have leaking fairly early on last pregnancy.
I can’t wait for my scan it’s been such a long time since I’ve seen baby girl.
exciting that we get to meet our babies this year! xx

pastelheart · 01/01/2026 10:42

@Backtotheicsiluckily mine have stopped being sore but they have just got huge… I wasn’t blessed in the boob department before (never wore a bra nice and small lol) and now we are up to an E LOL 😂 and soooo veiny!

hopefully yours stop being so painful soon

i know so soon! I am looking for add to our next scan too, it’s just after yours on the 15th. Are you going to book a 4D scan a bit later on as well? I think we are going to look into it. I never had one of those with my son xx

OP posts:
Backtotheicsi · 01/01/2026 10:45

@pastelheart oh my gosh that’s a bit change then. Mine are definitely bigger and veiny. Such bizarre feelings that I swear I forgot about.
yes I definitely want a 4d scan I think that will be so special! xx

MintOwl · 02/01/2026 14:53

@SarahAndQuack just reporting back on the jeans! I tried on a Next own-brand ‘over the bump’ pair and liked the style but they were a bit big and at this stage there ends up being a fair amount of loose material. I might try on a smaller size at a later date if needed. Also some Seraphine ‘under the bump’ which fitted much better and were very comfy, albeit more expensive. A friend has since given me a Gap ‘under the bump’ pair that are a bit baggy but otherwise fit well so I’m going to have a look on Vinted for those two. Hard to know if they’ll last but I guess the bump just rests on top of them at any size..
a couple of other people have recommended H&M too.

magpie234 · 02/01/2026 15:05

My boobs have always been my fave body part (lol) so I am not happy with one of them (?!) now being covered in gross red stretch marks. Hoping they fade… all be worth it of course but also my boooooobs 😭

pastelheart · 02/01/2026 16:28

@MintOwl@SarahAndQuacki got some straight leg over bump jeans from boohoo and wow so comfy and fit lovely. I hope they fit after my bump is gone!

@magpie234 ahhhh noooooo not the boobs! They will fade 100% xx

Hi all, I've been quiet lately but I'm enjoying all the pram/clothes/scan talk!
Glad everyone is getting on so well. Such exciting times. I've ordered some over bump leggings, joggers and tights as everything is feeling really tight ATM. I had a bit of a tummy anyway so at 16 weeks am looking about 6 months pregnant already! I've eaten so much to manage the sickness...I'm sure it's mostly flab 😂
Midwife called the other morning to say that as I was fully dilated when I had c section with my son, my cervix is likely to need a stich to keep shut and I'm high risk for pre term delivery. Bit of a shock. I've never thought about it but apparently being fully dilated with a c section can damage cervix and it then shortens...why is there always something? I'm good at staying calm but I am a bit worried. Right, off to browse Vinted for these jeans you've been chatting about...I need distraction! Good luck all xxx

Nosejug · 04/01/2026 08:58

Happy new year everyone!

@Sara237 me too with potential stitch (but because of lletz). Did the MW say they’d start monitoring you? They’re beginning with me at 16ish weeks then every two weeks. You might get away with just progesterone (back on the pessaries!) or maybe even nothing if your cervix is >25mm.

they referred me for psychological support as the lletz and haemorrhage were pretty traumatic. I feel like I might involuntarily kick someone in the face coming at my cervix with anything sharp!

Nosejug · 04/01/2026 09:00

On the clothes front I was given two pairs of elasticated waist trousers for Christmas from in laws from my very favourite (but awfully expensive) shop ❤️ so hopefully I can get away with them for a while and also use them post preg! I’ve had a terribly sore lower back yesterday and today so am basically couch bound 🫣

Sara237 · 04/01/2026 09:37

@Nosejug Happy new year! That's good you're being monitored so frequently. I don't think they're as on it where I live. I just have a few appts, months apart...after 20 weeks scan in Feb, I have nothing till end of April! Will mention when I see consultant. They didn't even realize donor pregnancy increases preeclampsia and pph risk I had to point this out. Hmm back on the pessaries would be preferable to the stitch so fingers crossed for a long enough cervix! Sorry to hear about your back. Did you do something or is it another pregnancy effect? I keep waking in night with banging headache thinking what have I done to get this but I think it's just pregnancy...the joys! Rest up xx

Keep an eye on the headaches as they can be a symptom of preeclampsia

On the clothes front - I just bought a few elastics trousers and leggings from Primark and they have done me. I haven’t needed to buy any tops as I’ve lots of jumpers / hoodies that have done the trick

FancyGoose · 04/01/2026 11:18

@dubkitten how did your appointment go friday?

@MintOwl congrats on the 20 week scan - must feel like such a relief to get through that milestone.

@pastelheart my boobs have gotten bloody humungous too and cause me a lot of pain and backache. No leaking yet though.

I am officially in my third trimester as of yesterday which feels exciting but weirdly a bit emotional. Just can't believe we have made it so far but still feels like a long time to wait too. I am finally telling my team at work tomorrow too which feels a bit nerve wracking. My boss knows but has been super supportive about me not telling anyone else until I am more ready but we need to start thinking about cover etc so can't put it off any longer!

Was 6 hours there!! Kidney function has improved but as BP is still borderline I’ve to go back Monday at 12.30 to do it all again 😫😫

pastelheart · 04/01/2026 12:44

Hello everyone! How are we all?

@FancyGoose they are just leaking everywhere and I’m just rolling with it… my partner is completely freaked out by it so that’s great fun 😂 pregnancy is so glamorous!!

how’s everyone’s weekends been? I have been in so much pain, I think from the gym. I have hardly been able to walk lol but feeling a bit better today… ready to do the same tomorrow with training legs 🙃 my bump is starting to get in the way though now so I can’t do everything I normally do.

im part way through cleaning the house (well 1/3, I have done downstairs) and now I am having a snack break. Went out for breakfast with my friend this morning and that was lovely.

has anyone got snow? We are due some in Cardiff this afternoon and I so hope we get some! I was always told it snowed loads in Wales and it hasn’t snowed once since I have lived here xox

Nosejug · 04/01/2026 20:25

@Sara237 yeah def chase with your consultant, if they’re worried it could be shortening at some point they’ll be wanting to keep an eye on it. On a specific lletz pregnancy thread one woman told a story of being as short as 1mm in places but that the stitch meant she carried full term, which gives me a lot of hope! (Though she did say it was not nice.. but obvs we’d do anything for a healthy term!)

The back pain must be pregnancy related? I have a feeling there’s a lot of internal shifting atm and I hosted in laws for three days including a big buffet for me and dps family, so think I just overdid it heh, getting better thankfully :)

Just back from this appointment and they are going to bring me in on Thursday for an induction 🙈😱

SarahAndQuack · 05/01/2026 15:39

Good luck! Will be thinking of you.

magpie234 · 05/01/2026 18:06

@dubkitten Oh wow! So soon for the first baby of the group. Best of luck 💞

CloudyIvy55 · 05/01/2026 19:26

@dubkittenso exciting!! Wishing you all the best!

FancyGoose · 05/01/2026 20:16

@pastelheart my weekend was super quiet but did get through a lot of chores which was satisfying - have a list of spring cleaning and decluttering stuff I want to get done before mat leave! And no snow here but I am SE so rarely get any properly. Is dropping to -6 tonight though which is pretty drastic for down South! Hope you get some though!!

@dubkitten oh wow, amazing!! Best of luck for thurs - will be thinking of you.

dubkitten · 05/01/2026 20:54

Thanks all, will keep ye updated.
