Hi, I am nervous even making this thread, like it is too soon to be on the pregnancy chat, but I am not telling anyone in real life, so I feel like it would be nice to have somewhere to talk about things with anyone who would like to join me 🙂.

We started ttc this baby in September 2022, I had a mmc in December 2022 then another in August 2023, then for the past 2 years we have been ttc without success, but I just got my positive test on Wednesday!
I can't believe it, I am obviously very happy and grateful but also extremely anxious.

Ten weeks and 4 days today, feeling slightly more relaxed as I've had a lot of nausea the last couple of weeks. A lot of bloating and digestive discomfort too which has been strange. My first scan is on the 30th October, I'll be 12 weeks exactly. Nervous and excited, counting down the days. Trying to stay away from the internet and horror stories. Tired. Boobs are huge. Still won't feel real till the scan if all is well...

ThelastRolo20 · 20/10/2025 21:44

@Ladyinpink1we're doing well thank you! Jessica is almost 10 months old if you'd believe it.

I have everything crossed for you, but I understand the zero excitement, I found after every milestone I could only focus on the next one, but I think that's just pregnancy after loss. Just take one day at a time, and don't be afraid to hope ❤️❤️

Ladyinpink1 · 22/10/2025 14:08

That's really not long until your scan then @Willagorilla , as horrible as the symptoms are, it at least gives you a feeling of something is going on. I have started getting the little sharp feelings at times when moving, which i felt so worried about at first but i remembered that it's everything stretching so I have decided to find them reasurring as the round ligament pains. x

That's crazy how fast time has went by @ThelastRolo20 although it felt so slow at the time.
Do you remember, did you hit a point in your pregnancy when things started feeling a little better? x

Hey everyone,

10 weeks 5 days today - as the weeks and days creep up I can't quite believe it! I had my midwife appt yesterday and she was so lovely. 12 week scan on the 4th November which feels a long way away!

@Ladyinpink1 I also had a sharp pain just now when I was getting out of the car - after a little worry, I've also decided to find it reassuring.

Willagorilla · 22/10/2025 14:53

@Ladyinpink1 yes the symptoms are reassuring and I've had a few of those twinges too. Clothes are getting tighter, I have put on 3lbs already but I think most of that is in my boobs 😅. Just very uncomfortable all round at the moment but hopefully it will all be worth it. So glad everything seems to be ticking along for everyone else too

ThelastRolo20 · 22/10/2025 15:34

@Ladyinpink1I definitely found it easier to not worry once I could feel some movement/ after the 20 week scan, but I don't think the worry ever completely goes ❤️

When's your next scan? X

Ladyinpink1 · 22/10/2025 16:12

Glad you got a nice midwife @CloudyIvy55 , the time waiting for scans seems to go on forever, doesn't it.
Yes I think because they are caused by things growing and stretching then if we have those pains, things must be continuing to grow? I hope so very much anyway x

@Willagorilla I feel a little bit better today for the first time, it could be a total fluke and I might feel rough again tomorrow but then feeling better can bring a whole other set of worries can't it x

@ThelastRolo20 My booking appointment and scan are both on Friday where I will be 12+2. Hoping all goes well for that and I get some reasurrance after. Are you back to work? x

I think there's a few people taking progesterone pessaries on here... I've got one more week before I can stop!! Very exciting because I hate them but they've also become a bit of a safety blanket I think. Is anyone else on them after an IVF frozen transfer? What week did you stop?

ThelastRolo20 · 24/10/2025 18:44

@Ladyinpink1how did the booking appt and scan go lovely?

I've gone back to work this week actually! Always a big adjustment but I'm looking forward to it in a funny way xx

Ladyinpink1 · 24/10/2025 20:15

Hi @CloudyIvy55 i'm on the pessaries until 16 weeks, although for different reasons so maybe that's why. I can't wait to stop either, I cut my dose in half so only take 1 a day now, they are so messy, but I do understand the crutch of being on them x

@ThelastRolo20 Sorry you are back now, it will be tough i'm sure but nice to get back to routine.
It went ok thank you, when she started the scan we seen it for a couple of seconds definitely moving around, but then she tried for ages and couldn't get a clear image to measure or see it properly again, so i'm back next week. x

Hi, hope you don’t mind me joining in.

I’ve got two older kids (10 and 13) from my previous marriage, and I’ve just found out I’m 4 weeks pregnant with my new partner — we found out on Saturday.

Bit of background: I had a miscarriage back in February which didn’t properly finish until the end of April. I was told I’d need surgery, but when they put me under they couldn’t carry on, so I ended up passing the rest naturally.

I’ve booked a private scan for when I’m 7 weeks, as I miscarried at 6 weeks last time (though we didn’t find out until I was 10.5 weeks).

No one knows yet, and while I keep getting little bursts of excitement, I’m also trying really hard to stay grounded after what happened before. It’s really nice to be able to chat here since we haven’t told anyone yet. x

Ladyinpink1 · 26/10/2025 19:31

Hi @Kirsty198511 congratulations on your pregnancy, and i'm sorry for what you have went through, that sounds awful lasting so long!

That's a good time for your scan then, i'm sure it feels so far away right now for you x

This is like a rollercoaster I don't want to be on! Just had some very light spotting after going to the loo. 11 weeks 3 days today and was feeling more relaxed after a good 10 week scan. Now I'm full of anxiety again.

I had some very light spotting at 8 weeks, had a scan and all was OK. My 12 week isn't until a week tomorrow!

Kirsty198511 · 27/10/2025 20:01

@Ladyinpink1thank you x

Kirsty198511 · 27/10/2025 20:07

@CloudyIvy55Really hope you’re okay. My friend had light spotting throughout her pregnancy and everything was fine. However, you can’t help but worry. Hopefully anything settles for you. x

HollyGolightly4 · 27/10/2025 20:35

Thinking of you @CloudyIvy55 ! I hope it will be ok. It's so up and down. I'm 10 weeks 4 days now and just still paranoid. Tiredness taking over me and sore boobs still, so I'm hoping that is a good sign.

Fletchasketch · 28/10/2025 17:05

A bit of happy news from me....baby now measuring 11w4 on latest scan, finally looks much more like a baby. Now is the dreaded wait for the NIPT results.

@CloudyIvy55 hope you're doing okay today. I'm sure I read somewhere that spotting happens in about 50% of pregnancies and is nothing to worry about it. My doctor even told me to expect it. In truth, I would probably feeling much the same and hope for your peace of mind that it's just temporary.

Kirsty198511 · 28/10/2025 17:23

@Fletchasketchthat’s lovely to hear. I can’t wait bet to that stage. My 7 week can is in two weeks time. Definitely feeling it today with the tiredness and bloating! x

HollyGolightly4 · 28/10/2025 21:01

My friend had some bad news at her 12 week scan today, as well as feeling awful for her, it's sent me into a massive spiral.

CloudyIvy55 · 28/10/2025 21:05

Thanks for you kind words! @HollyGolightly4 @Fletchasketch@Kirsty198511 I haven't had any more spotting so I'm feeling more relaxed today!!

Really lovely news @Fletchasketch about your scan! Bet your so happy! X

Kirsty198511 · 28/10/2025 21:16

@CloudyIvy55that’s really good to hear xx

Ladyinpink1 · 29/10/2025 07:01

Just read your post @CloudyIvy55 i'm so glad that your spotting has stopped, I can imagine you were worried sick. x

@Fletchasketch Lovely news, so nice to reach the stage to see them have a proper human form x

@HollyGolightly4 Sorry about your friend, do you have a 12 week scan coming up soon? Hoping around that time gives you some reasurrance, it's so difficult being pregnant. I assumed there would be more joy but it's just alot of anxiety, isn't it x

@Kirsty198511 Nice to have some symptoms at this stage, hopefully it gives you a little reasurrance x

I hope my scan on Friday is clearer and brings some more happinness, because although I do feel a little bit more relaxed, it's still difficult to connect with things, feel happy about anything, and hard to believe it will work out. My nausea is also lifting so now i'm thinking, am I definitely pregnant or has something happened since the scan last week? I know in reality that's all probably silly but pregnancy after loss is so so weird. Do you all feel the same? x

OP posts:
Kirsty198511 · 29/10/2025 07:43

@Ladyinpink1I feel exactly the same!! I wasn’t worried at all when I was pregnant with my two children but now having had a loss, I’m anxious. I’m a very positive person in general but it’s hard not to worry! Good luck for Friday, sorry remind me again how far along are you now?

(I had a patient in the other day at work and came in with a very cute bump, she’s only tiny so bump felt huge to her, I asked how far along she was and she laughed and couldn’t tell me, she said oh I’m due in Feb, after each baby you forget the weeks. I was thinking I felt like that with my second pregnancy but this one I’m counting the days! 🤣🫣) x

Fletchasketch · 29/10/2025 08:02

@Kirsty198511 thank you :). I hope the next two weeks go as quickly as they can for you- I remember that endless wait only too well!

@CloudyIvy55 thanks so much- starting to believe it might actually happen for us which we hadn't managed to until yesterday. The doctor asked us if we'd like to know the sex (from the NIPT results)- I said no and my partner said yes. We hadn't even talked about it until that point; couldn't dare to hope we'd get that far. I hope the next week goes as quickly as it can for you.

@HollyGolightly4 I am sorry to hear about your friend. I don't know if this helps, but apparently the chance of bad news at a 12 week scan is less than 1%. The odds are overwhelmingly in your favour.

@Ladyinpink1 I can very much relate to your post. I have friends asking how I'm feeling and commiserating when I'm sick and I have to keep explaining that I'm glad to feel sick as it makes it feel more real. I think it is very normal for symptoms to start easing around 11/12 weeks in any case. All the very best for Friday x

HollyGolightly4 · 29/10/2025 08:37

Thank you @Fletchasketch that does help 💓. Roll on the 7th November xx
