Hi, I am nervous even making this thread, like it is too soon to be on the pregnancy chat, but I am not telling anyone in real life, so I feel like it would be nice to have somewhere to talk about things with anyone who would like to join me 🙂.

We started ttc this baby in September 2022, I had a mmc in December 2022 then another in August 2023, then for the past 2 years we have been ttc without success, but I just got my positive test on Wednesday!
I can't believe it, I am obviously very happy and grateful but also extremely anxious.

Thank you @Hopingrae i think I may have been on a pregnancy after loss thread with you early last year that you started? So pleased you had a successful pregnancy from that thread

Ladyinpink1 · 01/10/2025 07:52

Brilliant news about your scan @Figtree11 and good news knowing there isn't too long to wait until the next scan also x

So frustrating @HollyGolightly4 what will your next step be now then to get the scan do you think? x

I've sent a pleading message today, basically saying I'm panicking. The usual secretary is off, so someone else is picking up, and she's said she'll escalate it so 🤞🤞🤞

Fletchasketch · 02/10/2025 09:23

@HollyGolightly4 I do hope they come back to you today, I know the anxiety only too well- sending hugs.

@Figtree11 pleased to hear you had a good scan, it's wonderful to hear that heartbeat for the first time. Keeping everything crossed that it's the first good scan of many.

My symptoms seem to be ramping up a bit now, was too tired to go to my kettle bell class last night when previously I'd had barely any symptoms at all. Feeling slightly nauseous a lot of the time too, which I'm oddly grateful for. Just hope it's not my body playing tricks on me.

Love to all x

Just went to the loo and had a very small amount of pink on the tissue. No cramping atm although I've had them on and off most days throughout the pregnancy. 8 weeks tomorrow.

Would you contact the EPU or wait a bit longer and see what happens? Don't want to contact them for no reason but after a MMC at a similar stage, it's a bit worrying.

Figtree11 · 02/10/2025 12:41

Thank you @Ladyinpink1

@HollyGolightly4 hope you get sorted today

@Fletchasketch thank you 🙂 I’m already having anxiety creep in based on measuring 2 days behind & not really feeling ill. It’s good your symptoms are ramping up - as much as it’s not fun, it is a bit reassuring

@CloudyIvy55 I’ve had this before & later found out it was an irritated cervix. Maybe see how you go til tomorrow & hopefully it’s just one of those annoying cervix things

CloudyIvy55 · 02/10/2025 12:55

Thank you @Figtree11! Yeah I think I'll wait and see. I'm surprisingly calm at the moment which makes me think that I know in my gut it's fine.

HollyGolightly4 · 02/10/2025 16:57

Thank you @Figtree11 and @Fletchasketch 😘. Managed to speak to someone today and they've booked me in for tomorrow, so relieved.

Just got to get through the scan now 🤞🙏❤️

oh that is good news. All the very best for your scan, I will be thinking of you.

HollyGolightly4 · 02/10/2025 20:48

What can I expect from the scan tomorrow oh wise ones? Thank you in advance 💕

Ladyinpink1 · 03/10/2025 08:14

Sorry your symptoms aren't nice but glad for you that you feel some reasurrance @Fletchasketch x

@CloudyIvy55 How are you feeling today? Has the spotting continued? Anything out of the ordinary is such a worry after a loss, isn't it. As fig said, your cervix can be irritated etc. Hope you are ok x

Hope all goes with with your scan today @HollyGolightly4 I can tell you how mine went if that helps....it was an internal scan and they checked for size to get a rough idea of how far along you are and checked for a heartbeat. Then the checked around the womb etc for any abnormalities, checked both ovaries to see where I ovulated from etc then I got a scan pic to take home after. I think you are 7 weeks now? So they should be able to see things nice and clearly I think.
I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for... or did you mean the physical side of things, like how it happens? x

No that is perfect information @Ladyinpink1 💕 thank you so much, I'm struggling to get through today to wait!

HollyGolightly4 · 03/10/2025 15:30

I measured 7 weeks and there was a strong heartbeat ❣️ thank you so much for all the support and good luck to the rest of you 💕

CloudyIvy55 · 03/10/2025 22:11

@HollyGolightly4 lovely news! Really pleased for you!

My spotting spotted, was only a small amount. I'm actually proud of myself for handling it so well - I know that sounds a bit cheesey 🤦‍♀️😂 but since my positive test I've been checking everytime I go to the loo, praying there's no blood, and when there was, I was surprisingly calm and rational about it so well done me 😂

HollyGolightly4 · 04/10/2025 04:17

Well done @CloudyIvy55 ! That definitely deserves some praise 💐.

The 4AM insomnia seems to have hit here 🤣

Figtree11 · 05/10/2025 08:38

@HollyGolightly4 that’s brilliant news ☺️

@CloudyIvy55 I’m glad you’ve had no more spotting

Fletchasketch · 08/10/2025 14:29

Hey ladies, how is everyone doing today?

Had a bit more good news, now measuring 8w5 with a strong heartbeat. Its the furthest we've ever got and so whilst not out of the woods I'm feeling slightly more relaxed than I was last night. The doctor has asked me to stop taking aspirin though, which makes me a bit nervous- is everyone else taking it?

Ladyinpink1 · 08/10/2025 16:36

Hey @Fletchasketch Congratulations, that's really great news. I'm not taking asprin. Why did he ask you to stop it? If you are really worried, could you cut down on it slowly before stopping? x

I'm 10 weeks today. I have got my final early pregnancy unit scan this Friday.
I'm afraid my update is all very depressing lol. I have a cold this week which is a bit rubbish and I have found this pregnancy the hardest by far, every morning as soon as I wake up, I feel sick with dread thinking today I will miscarry. It's actually got worse as time is passing I think since I hit the time when my last 2 losses happened it seems to have triggered something.
Is anyone else's anxiety got worse the further on they get?

Thank you :).

I get the anxiety big time, I barely slept a wink last night, was just picturing getting the bad news on repeat. It is starting to get slightly easier though as I'm past the stage of both previous losses, but don't think I'll be able to properly relax until they are in my arms. Sorry to hear you're feeling rough. I think it's only normal that you'll feel extra on edge during those particular weeks. I hope it starts to get easier.

Re; the aspirin, I'm with a recurrent miscarriage clinic and that was what they recommend. I also know it's worked for a lot of people who have had recurrent loss and so it just added a bit of security. I do trust the doctor, I was just surprised by her decision. The dose is also tiny- 75mg, so if I cut it down any more I'd basically just be licking the tablet.

Figtree11 · 08/10/2025 18:26

That’s good news @Fletchasketch im on aspirin, and have to increase the dose at 10 weeks due to high blood clotting markers. Is the doctor who has said to come off it different to the doctor at the miscarriage clinic? If it is, can you get in touch with the clinic for advice? I was under the impression aspirin was fine to keep taking so wonder why she has advised to stop.

@Ladyinpink1 i’m sorry you are struggling. It’s nearly Friday, not long to go. My anxiety stays the same really, apart from the day before a scan when it ramps up. Maybe I’m just pessimistic but I’m just not expecting this pregnancy to work out so might be why I feel a bit flat about it

Babydust25 · 08/10/2025 21:26

I'm taking 150 aspirin as thats what my recurrent miscarriage clinic advised with my successful pregnancy so I'm doing it again. I dont think I'll be listening to anyone who says otherwise tbh.

Sorry ive been so quiet, the nausea has been no joke! I have my first scan on Friday so hoping it will all be positive then :).

CloudyIvy55 · 08/10/2025 22:11

Can relate to the anxiety! Especially as I'm now 8 weeks 5 days and in my last pregnancy I miscarried at 9 weeks. I've also had pretty mild symptoms throughout which I'm finding is making the anxiety worse! I kind of wish I would just throw up once 🤦‍♀️😂

I'm thinking I might book a private scan at 10 weeks because I'm hoping that knowing I'm safely pass the 9 week milestone will help me feel better.

Thinking of you all - this isn't easy!

HollyGolightly4 · 09/10/2025 05:50

Can also relate to the anxiety. Having a rubbish time at work at the minute and just keep thinking I shouldn't be stressing. It's horrible.

Fletchasketch · 09/10/2025 09:00

@Figtree11 thank you :). It was the doctor at the miscarriage clinic who recommended cutting out aspirin, due to a small bleed near my cervix. I trust her implicitly, but it still makes me nervous knowing aspirin has helped so many people.

Sorry to hear that people are having a rubbish time of it and feeling anxious. I think the reality is that we all know these are the danger weeks. The scan yesterday was comforting as it's the furthest we've got, but think it will take until at least the NIPT test to relax in any meaningful way. It is just so hard. Sending a hand hold to anyone who needs one today x

Figtree11 · 09/10/2025 11:49

@Fletchasketch oh that makes sense. I’ve heard before of women stopping because of bleeding so it doesn’t increase any more. But I know it must make you feel nervous, as it’s a bit of a safety blanket in a way, as you feel like you’re doing something proactive. But you’re obviously under the right care & they definitely know best
