Hi, I am nervous even making this thread, like it is too soon to be on the pregnancy chat, but I am not telling anyone in real life, so I feel like it would be nice to have somewhere to talk about things with anyone who would like to join me 🙂.

We started ttc this baby in September 2022, I had a mmc in December 2022 then another in August 2023, then for the past 2 years we have been ttc without success, but I just got my positive test on Wednesday!
I can't believe it, I am obviously very happy and grateful but also extremely anxious.

Thank you @Fletchasketch I understand the fear of changing anything. Have you decided what to do about it?
Glad that things are a little more settled for you as time goes by. I hope tomorrow is good news for me too and that I start to feel a little easier then too x

Yes you are probably right, it's prob getting closer to a scan that causes the fear @Figtree11 . It's so tough to be positive after losses isn't it. I really hope that your next scan comes around fast and brings good news x

All the best for your scan tonorrow @Babydust25 x

@CloudyIvy55 I can understand your anxiety with you being right in that stage at the minute, it's an awful time. A scan at 10 weeks does sound like a good idea for some reasurrance. x

@HollyGolightly4 Sorry work isn't helping things. x

I feel like we all need to fast forward about 4 weeks and then we would feel better

@Ladyinpink1 thank you. I've stopped taking the aspirin. I'm actually on a pretty intensive immunosuppresant protocol and apparently am covered by the other medication. I will be thinking of you and @Babydust25 tomorrow, really hope you both get good news.

YES PLEASE to fast forwarding to 13 weeks, I am counting down the days at this point.

HollyGolightly4 · 09/10/2025 18:38

My boobs hurt which is oddly comforting 🤣

Figtree11 · 10/10/2025 11:41

Good luck @Ladyinpink1 and @Babydust25 with the scans today

Ladyinpink1 · 10/10/2025 13:06

Thank you for the thoughts @Figtree11 and @Fletchasketch , it's this afternoon and this morning is going by SOOO slow x

Yes thinking of you today also @Babydust25 x

Just to update, my 10 week scan went well this afternoon.
I definitely feel some relief, I think I didn't realise just how anxious and worked up I was.
Hope everyone else is ok and the time to everyone else's next scan flies in x

What a milestone, congratulations! As I understand it, the risk at 10 weeks is pretty much the same as at 12 weeks which is amazing. Hope you can have a relaxing weekend.

Babydust25 · 10/10/2025 21:04

My scan went great and im measuring at 8 weeks so 3 days ahead. Still rotten and was sick on the way to the hospital but glad to have seen a little baby. Hopefully I will relax till 12 weeks now!

Ladyinpink1 · 10/10/2025 21:07

Thank you @HollyGolightly4
When is your next scan? x

@Fletchasketch I didn't know that, thank you. x

At the end of my appointment, I mentioned my anxiety and the midwife gave me a book called "pregnancy after loss" it's co written by Jamie Olivers wife (the company give them to the EPU to give out to people) but so far it seems really good, it has sections for each day etc and lots of info from counselors, midwifes etc. Just thought I would recommend it.

No date for my next scan, but I have a midwife appointment next Friday when it'll get booked in I think. I've debated going for a private one if it's not soon enough 🙈

CloudyIvy55 · 11/10/2025 12:58

That's great news @Ladyinpink1about your 10 week scan!! Thanks for the book suggestion, I'm going to download it. I think having a book to read can satisfy my need for information that isn't an endless negative Google search.

9 days 1 week today and I've never known time move slower! It doesn't help that I still feel absolutely fine!! I've got sore boobs on and off, more discharge (tmi- sorry) and some mild cramps/bloating now and again. I'm telling myself they are just as valid symptoms as feeling sick, headaches e.c.t I guess it's just because they don't feel as extreme.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

CloudyIvy55 · 11/10/2025 13:01

*9 weeks, 1 day

Figtree11 · 12/10/2025 08:09

Brill news @Ladyinpink1 @Babydust25

@CloudyIvy55 i think people can respond so differently to each pregnancy. I was so sick with my last pregnancy whereas this one I’ve not been sick at all, even though I have some days of nausea

HollyGolightly4 · 12/10/2025 08:12

Is it just an old wives tale that if you're sick it's a girl because of all the hormones, if you're not, it's a boy?

Ladyinpink1 · 14/10/2025 07:09

@Babydust25 I'm sorry, you and I posted at the same time so I never seen your update, very pleased about your scan. Do you feel more relaxed now? x

@CloudyIvy55 I found it very interesting, it has a journaling bit for each day too.
Sorry time is going so slow, it's especially hard when symptoms aren't as you expect but I have read lots about how different people have different, and often no, symptoms. Have you got a scan date through yet? Hope this week goes faster for you x

@HollyGolightly4 I think I have heard that before. Are you feeling terrible? x

OP posts:
HollyGolightly4 · 14/10/2025 17:44

No @CloudyIvy55 🤣I'm almost not feeling terrible enough! I've just taken another test because I was panicking. Still says pregnant, still says 3 weeks plus. Got the maternity appointment on Friday, just wish I could have another scan.

How are you feeling?

How is everyone else getting on?

Babydust25 · 15/10/2025 11:53

@Ladyinpink1 It defo helped having the scan but knowing I've got to wait till 12 weeks now is playing on my mind a bit! With my daughter I had scans at 6 8 and 10 so that helped. Tbh im mostly just counting down the days till hopefully this sickness ends!

CloudyIvy55 · 16/10/2025 16:01

Hey @HollyGolightly4- glad to see another no/mild symptom person! We are definitely the minority - and hopefully just lucky. Hope your appointment tomorrow goes well. I've got my midwife appointment next week and from what I can remember from my last one, they ask about breastfeeding and birth plans....there's no way I can think that far ahead when I'm literally living wee to wee, hoping there's no blood when I wipe 😂😂🤦‍♀️

I've booked myself a private scan for tomorrow which will be 10 weeks. I thought it might help the anxiety but actually the build up to it has been worse!! I've got no reason to expect bad news but the mild symptoms make me feel like I've not got much reason to feel positive either.

Going to aim to have a relaxed evening with a takeaway to try and keep my mind off it.

HollyGolightly4 · 16/10/2025 18:15

@CloudyIvy55 that resonates so much!! It's terrible 🙈🤣.

Sounds like a plan - enjoy your takeaway and try to relax (easier said than done I now!)

CloudyIvy55 · 17/10/2025 11:16

Had my 10 week scan - all looking good! CRL 31.9mm and a heartbeat of 180bpm.

For the first time, I've let myself feel a glimmer of excitement 😊

HollyGolightly4 · 17/10/2025 15:48

Amazing news @CloudyIvy55 💕. My midwife appointment went well and I've got a date of 7th November for my 12 week scan 🤞

Fletchasketch · 17/10/2025 16:06

@CloudyIvy55 really lovely news. Enjoy those glimmers of excitment, you've earnt them!

ThelastRolo20 · 17/10/2025 19:45

@Ladyinpink1I haven't been on Mumsnet in a long time but just came across this thread and I just wanted to say how delighted I am for you ❤️ I know this pregnancy has been a long time coming and I wish you all the best xx

Ladyinpink1 · 20/10/2025 07:41

@CloudyIvy55 Very pleased to read the good news about your scan 🙂
I completely agree with living between wipes, it's awful, and I dont know of anyone else is the same but I find the feeling of the excess progestrone makes the worry even worse. x

@ThelastRolo20 Hi Rolo! It's so nice to see your name. How are you, and the family? Thank you, it has been such a long time coming for sure, Hoping for success this time. xo

How is everyone else doing, is everyone still very anxious?

I'm 12 weeks on Wednesday, have my 12 week scan this Friday, I have zero excitement yet, just alot of anxiety. Maybe if Friday goes ok. x
