Wondering if anyone has got a positive recently and would be due late April / Early May 2026? ✨

Lovely news @magpie234 and @Jenny124501 on your 12 week scans! So pleased for you both.

Mine is a week today - can't come soon enough!

Jenny124501 · 28/10/2025 21:54

@CloudyIvy55thank you, i couldn’t be happier with my little one ☺️ i hope the best for yours next week! ❤️

HFH40 · 29/10/2025 12:51

@myfavouritenamewastaken they’ll defo get in touch if the results are high risk. I’m sure last time I had a phone call from the screening team about 2-3 days after I had my blood taken.

tillybud89 · 29/10/2025 12:58

Hi ladies. Love reading all these positive messages ❤️ got my 12 week scan tomorrow!!! Can't come quick enough! Xxxx

Hope everyone is doing well. I’m bumping along at 13 weeks here and hoping to get some energy back soon after a very tiring first trimester!
Just wondering if others are starting to get results if they’ve opted into combined screening? I had my scan and blood tests last week. I called my community midwives to see if there’s an ETA on when I’ll get my results, and they seemed to suggest I wouldn’t hear anything until I attend my 16 week appointment! I’m assuming they’ll get in touch earlier if something doesn’t look right on the blood tests? The NT measurement on the scan was fine (1.6) but the scan summary also flags that the sonographer’s view was limited by an awkward fetal position…

In my trust they don't tell you until 16 weeks if low risk either. My first DC came back high risk and they phoned me on the tenth day (having said they'd be touch within ten days if high risk)

Hi ladies. Had my 12 week scan on thursday thought I was 12 + 3 but turned out I was 12 + 6 new date of 8th May.
Has anyone done the nub theory? I sent my scan to 2 different ones and both came back girl but seen a lot of conflicting stories haha. We have a scan booked in a few weeks im just so impatient haha and I know this is our last one xxxx

myfavouritenamewastaken · 02/11/2025 21:51

Thank you @BeastAngelMadwoman and @HFH40 for sharing your experiences! Thankfully I got a letter in the post yesterday confirming our results, I’m not sure I could have taken 2 and a half more weeks of not knowing until the 16 week appt!
@tillybud89 oh interesting! I had no idea you might be able to tell so early. We are excited to find out what we’re having too - trying to be patient and wait until the 20 week scan but I can see me folding and getting a private scan sooner 😂

girlabouthome · 03/11/2025 05:30

NIPT can confirm sex from 6 weeks privately.

I’m not having any tests this time, only my 12 week private scan and will be declining my 20 week scan xx

CloudyIvy55 · 04/11/2025 10:38

Hey everyone, have you told anyone about your pregnancy yet?

Just had our 12 week scan and all is well. Its been long and painful to get here. A missed miscarriage at 11 weeks when we first started trying, followed by years of infertility and a round of IVF.

I haven't really shared any of this with anyone except a close friend. Haven't told our families any of it. We are close with our families but also very private people and in the real low moments, I really needed space and time without anyone else knowing what was happening.

But now we are here, a positive 12 week scan. My partner is so excited to share the news but I'm nervous. I guess when you get to the bottom of it, it's because I'm still nervous something might go wrong and then I'll have to share that bad news.

Part of me thinks it's fine to not be ready and to wait until I am. But also, I don't think I'll ever be ready/not nervous and I shouldn't let that worry tarnish what should be an amazing moment!

Hi lovely. We have told the mums ans some friends but thats it. Miscarriage in May made us really wary. Im 13+4. Will be 21 at xmas so have bought some cards to put in with the family presents and will tell them then. Xxx

PumpkinSpicedLatte · 07/11/2025 19:35

Had our 12 week scan last week (should’ve been 12+1 exactly as had fertility treatment) baby measuring 12+6 so baby doing well despite the hyperemesis kicking my arse. Haven’t been on here as struggled with the sickness but enjoying it a bit more now. Had a blood test and found out the gender-it’s a boy 💙

CityKity · 16/11/2025 22:21

Hi ladies, I hadn’t found the May thread yet, but so glad to hear so many nice 12 week scan stories!

My scan is this week and I must be one of the last to go as am due on the last day of May, but curious to see if the dates change at all and whether I’ll be bumped into June.

This is number 2 and I’m shocked at how quickly time has gone, and how much bigger I am than last time! I had no visible bump till well over 20 weeks last time but at 12 weeks I definitely have a teeny bump by the end of the day. Still have massive nerves in the scan run up though as this will be the first scan for me. Fingers and toes crossed all is well!

Pryceosh1987 · 17/11/2025 00:39

I wish you all the best.

brightandbeautiful89 · 17/11/2025 01:22

Has anyone had their 16w midwife appt yet? I have mine tomorrow (today) and I’m really hoping she will listen to the heartbeat with the Doppler, I just need some reassurance

magpie234 · 17/11/2025 06:23

@brightandbeautiful89 Got mine on Tuesday so let me know how it goes would you? Never sure what to expect from these appts as they tell you nothing beforehand! I am expecting a quick check-up with a urine test and blood pressure taken etc.

@CityKity Hope your scan goes really well! Totally understand the anxiety.

PumpkinSpicedLatte · 17/11/2025 11:27

@brightandbeautiful89 mine is next Friday. I’ll be closer to 17 weeks (I’m 16 weeks this Saturday as I’m dating ahead). I work in Ultrasound and generally they do listen to heartbeat at the 16 weeks MW apt, but it does depend on the midwife. I’ve known some listen after 20 weeks. Let us know how it goes x

brightandbeautiful89 · 17/11/2025 12:22

@magpie234@PumpkinSpicedLattethanks so much, appt is this afternoon - will update afterwards

brightandbeautiful89 · 17/11/2025 15:45

Had my appt and the midwife listened to the heartbeat so I’m happy 😃

magpie234 · 18/11/2025 10:28

@brightandbeautiful89 Yay! Me too this morning 😊. Hopefully finding out the sex on Thursday!

tillybud89 · 18/11/2025 10:41

Hi ladies! So lovely to read everything going well! Im 15+4 today. Due date 8th may but having a c-section so will be closer to beginning of May. Had a private scan at the weekend and found out were having a girl 🎀 my other 2 girlie's are thrilled they are getting a sister! Got my 1st actual midwife appointment next thursday. Feels like it's starting to all be go go after what seemed like an extremely slow format trimester xxx

Does anyone else feel a wave of anxiety over birth? Sharing because my first pregnancy I struggled so much with the thought of birth. It's only through finding some help online my anxiety has calmed down. I used this app called Carea - it has loads of mental health tools for pregnancy but also a birth plan feature to help put your mind at ease for birth. Obviously no birth will ever go strictly to plan but it helps lay out what's important to you and what your preferences are for birth. It's amazing!

My first birth wasn't great. 42 weeks and cervix still not doing anything so couldn't even sweep me. Was induced did nothing until waters had to be physically broken. When the same happened with my 2nd it was obvious I had a tilted pelvis and although it's not meant to affect birth it obviously does! Both times they have mentioned that we may have to have a section and the last time they left it to late but I lost so much blood, needed a transfusion and was in over a week. This time in having an elective section as unfortunately the previous have left me to scared to go through that again. Not ideal but I feel for me it's the best option x

magpie234 · 18/11/2025 14:53

@tillybud89 How exciting! I agree time is really speeding up now after the first tri seemed like years.

I have started considering what I may want for this my first birth. Currently leaning towards a planned c-section - for more calmness and control (hopefully) after a tough infertility and ivf journey. But tbc. I know I will be asking to avoid induction anyway as hate the thought of yet more interventions to try and get my body to do things. Such a personal choice of course! Trying to tune into my instinct and what I feel is right for me rather than what I feel I should do but that is easier said than done…

Zoe0526 · 30/11/2025 10:36

Hey @Susan4580 hope you’re doing well. I’ve been following this thread along from the sidelines (third baby so know more or less what to expect, but it’s always nice to know others are in the same stage to get any reassurance etc!)

I don’t know if you’re one to do heaps of research to ease anxiety, but it’s definitely how I approached it, so thought I’d share something that I found helpful. I was never overly worried, but I found all of the positive information really useful in preparing for any eventuality, from home birth to unplanned c-section. I’d definitely recommend taking a look at the Positive Birth Company course. It’s really worth the investment, and it comes with access to a really good app for keeping calm and focused in labour. (I had a really lovely planned home birth with my second and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had!)

I thought this pregnancy might go a bit faster than my previous as life is always so busy, but I can’t believe we’re approaching the halfway point already!!!
